I was joking. I think if it were my JOB to maintain professionalism in spite of assclownery, I could pull it off. I might go home and kick the cat at the end of my shift, but I'd pull it off. Since I'm not in that situation it's easier to just say that I have heard from reputable sources that a 6-cell Maglite makes an excellent persuasive device. "Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!"

Leave the URL in there. </command decison>

I'd be up for several things right off the bat. A khaki polo hat in both the subdued and full color logo and a 5.11 polo in both versions of the logo.

Eh... no URL would be kind of wimpy and pointless if we're trying to bring people here. Some folks just won't ask, but if they saw what the URL was on your hat (or shirt) they might come here anyway. I'm one of those guys who normally won't ask if I don't already know. It took me a long time to figure out why I shouldn't have a rainbow sticker on my pink Mazda Miata.

Pull up a rug and make yourself at home. -
If this ColtCCO kid was being an a-hole to the cop, then the cop may have succumbed to human nature and gotten irritated by it ... which lead to those comments being made. I can't even fathom the amount of B.S. that the police probably have to put up with in a given day and I'd probably have a hard time keeping that professional edge 24/7 myself under the right (wrong) circumstances. The kid is probably very lucky that he didn't get the Maglite to the head.

Added some new avatars and smilies today

Hahah... that dog is tacti-cool. -
Nah, let's keep it cost effective.

Joe... Brian has a great idea. Maybe have the logo on the adjustable band in the back of the hat or embroidered on the back of the hat somewhere?

I added some new avatars and smilies today. The smilies will be self explanatory as you find them. The new avatars are: If you have a manufacturer or an avatar idea that you don't see listed here, reply to the thread and I will do my best to get something added. You are always welcome to use an avatar of your own design, of course.

By the way folks... one of the reasons why I also think the TGO initials work better for clothing is that there are times when subtlety is a good trait to have. Anyone who looks at the big TGO initials and logo won't immediately think GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! which could be a good thing in some circles. That's another reason why I personally would very likely wear a hat or shirt with that logo in a more subdued color scheme, especially at work on casual days. People who know me and know my interests will immediately understand the logo and spot the URL. People who don't, won't... and that's good.

Do you guys like this? I think it will flow a little better in embroidery form than the logo at the top of each page here. The gray background is just there to give a little contrast. The watermark is there for intellectual property reasons.

Graphics are a comin'. I've been absolutely covered up at work this morning. My penance for taking yesterday off, I'm afraid.

You'd be more than welcome to shoot mine any time you want. I'd really suggest shooting one before buying as -- for some reason -- they definitely feel different to me than a lot of other guns do.

Yeah but... **** happens, slides get locked back prematurely, mags jam, you get your strong arm injured, etc. I like ambi controls.

But... it has... an EXPOSED HAMMER!

Yep. Shot about 40 rounds through it today before deciding to try and make arrangements to take it home with it. I like it. My grouping wasn't great, but it was at least a grouping with the V3. I just need more time behind the trigger to get used to it. I've got to say, however, that as soon as my CTAC for the SIG P220 SAO comes in, the P2000 will probably only get carried when I feel that the HK's smaller size would be a better option. The 36 is single stack? Hmmm. I didn't know that. Now give it ambidextrous controls and I'll give it a closer look.

I have owned two such pieces of "perfection" in the past. I'm not as opposed to them as it may seem, but I don't foresee owning another in the near future unless something really cool comes out with the Glock name stamped on the side of it. Like.. .a single stack polymer .45ACP of the same height and length of the G23. If they made that, I'd be all up on it.

I would also say... please don't call Hero Gear to order anything yet. I just wanted everyone to know that this has not been forgotten about. It's just been a little slow in the making. As soon as Hero Gear is ready to accept orders, I'm sure they or I will post about it.

Minor update... I traded the V2 (LEM) for a V3 (DA/SA) today. Dan @ Hero Gear was nice enough to take me to the nearby range to let me kick the tires a bit and see if I liked the V3 any better. I did. The trigger on the V3 is a lot more predictable to me. I realize that this boils down to both personal preference and training yourself to adjust to the LEM trigger, but the LEM didn't pass muster in the preference department and I guess I'm getting too set in my ways to make myself adjust to the LEM when another variant was far easier for me to use. I can't say enough good things about Hero Gear. They've taken care of me every time I've been in there and I've seen that they do the same for everyone who walks through the door. Thanks guys.

TGO David replied to ffr1910's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I've carried into an airport before to pick someone up, but of course never attempted to carry beyond the metal detectors. I'd never leave mine locked in the car at Nashville International seeing how cars do get broken into from time to time.
