  1. I hate you. Can I shoot it?
  2. To have a gun at home? Minimum standard = to be an American citizen. To carry it, I agree with your post.
  3. Nah, I mean... it's the whole helmet. climbing gear, staring down at you from above thing.
  4. Well, the easiest way is just to upload a file and it will create the gallery for you on the fly. http://www.tngunowners.com/photos/uploadphoto.php
  5. Welcome welcome!
  6. Seriously..... thats gonna give me nightmares.
  7. I feel ya, brother. The camera is conspiring against us.
  8. I sure would love to have another lower to build a 6.8 on...
  9. People around here seem to absolutely love the Smith & Wesson J-Frame revolvers. I definitely would not want to be on the receiving end of a +P .38 Special hollow point out of any gun with a good shooter behind the sights. I guess my only recommendation would be to avoid the Airlite versions of the J-Frame since the recoil absorbing properties of such a light weight gun would probably suck really bad. Especially on "hot" cartridges. You can see the whole line of J-Frame revolvers here. Also, I'd do some homework first and make sure that any states you travel through would honor your Tennessee carry permit and that you wouldn't be in violation of any local laws regarding transportation of the firearm.
  10. The easiest thing to do is upload your photo to our Gallery and then come back to this thread and post a reply. When you post the reply, click the button inside the thread rather than use the quick reply feature. When you use the full editor, there is a small link beneath the collection of smilies that will let you quickly add your photo to the post. The link is in a small area labeled My Pics and says [Open]. Click the Open link and you'll be shown a pop-up window that has your most recent photos. Choose the photo you want add, click it, you're done!
  11. You're saving it for Eddie aren't you? You're the man!
  12. Things I've replaced on my truck to try and isolate the source of a really loud, really annoying squeak... Rear brake pads Rear rotors Rear drive shaft u-joints (front and back) Rusty splash guards behind rotors Things that I will have to replace to actually fix it now that we've figured out what is going on... Right rear axle shaft Right rear wheel bearing Right rear wheel bearing oil seal Turns out that somewhere over the past thousand miles or so, the rear axle got bent right where the passenger wheel hub is. Most likely right AT the wheel hub itself, and most likely because of the huge pot hole that the Smyrna utilities department dug in the middle of my street and that I found... with the truck... after dark while coming home one fateful night. They had filled it with gravel, but that never stays in place after a few cars start running across it. I remember seeing it in the headlights, swerving to miss it, and hitting it with the rear wheel... and that's the ONLY thing that I remember hitting that could have done this. Looks like my plans for next weekend just got made for me.
  13. Wow... foster parents! That's an awesome thing, man.
  14. Good looking family there, man! I completely understand that being the reason to carry. Those kids are precious.
  15. I used to love archery. I hunted a few times with a PSE bow that I used to own and actually got a fairly nice buck out of it. Things got kind of effed up after an eye injury that made bow hunting fairly impractical for me anymore. Then I re-discovered modern firearms season, took my son with me once, and enjoyed that even more.
  16. I saw a thread like this on another forum and while at first I thought it was kind of cheesy, the more I read through it the more fun it was obvious that everyone was having. It added a new dimension to the forum, honestly. So, in that regard... if you feel comfortable participating, post a picture of yourself. I realize some of you are in jobs where posting your face might be a security concern so feel free to use photos that were shot from angles that partially obscure your face, or blot out your face with a black box, whatever. This is my goofy butt shooting a full auto AR a few weeks ago down at Hero Gear.
  17. "You made that up in MS Word and printed it out!" --Johnny Lawdog PS: Yeah I know, I'm a pessimist.
  18. My tank of care is running on fumes lately.
  19. It's not just the LE's. A while back I had the opportunity to ask my lawyer about whether she would feel comfortable handling my defense were I ever to be involved in a self-defense shooting or if I should have a contingency for that sort of thing with another lawyer. (It pays to know who you're going to call before you're ever in that position at 2am!) She informed me that she didn't think that a carry permit even allowed you to have your handgun in the center console or glove box of your car. I guess I sort of made an face when she said that, and then told her I would forward a copy of John Harris' book on the subject of Carrying A Firearm For Self Defense In Tennessee.
  20. Frank I appreciate that sentiment. The truck either has a spun bearing somewhere in the rear end or (and I'm really hoping) it has a bad u-joint. I'm going to start with the most easily replaced items first and do the joints in the morning. If that doesn't remedy the problem, it's going to be a long day of completely tearing apart the rear end and replacing things that I really don't feel like having to replace. Oh well. Such is life with machinery.
  21. POS still isn't fixed. I'm stuck here tomorrow, guys. Sorry.
  22. Cool. I just picked up parts from the parts store. I'm getting tired of giving them my money, so if this doesn't fix my truck I'm setting it on fire and pushing it off of a cliff. Or we can just shoot it.
  23. So who is planning on going tomorrow? I've got a p.o.s. GMC truck that I've got really bust my hump and try to get squared away tonight before I can even think about heading down there. If I can't get that done, this trip may be a bust for me... so I'm trying to gauge interest and will adjust my work ethic tonight accordingly. Hating the General right now and his whole Motors division, --Tungsten
