  1. Rock Island makes good entry level 1911s but I think there are better options out there for someone who is willing to spend a little more.
  2. The new SIG Revolution C3 has been calling to me lately. It's half the cost of the Nighthawk T3 which is also a Commander slide on an Officer frame. I would never replace my Kimber Pro CDP II with the SIG C3 but I would definitely let them sleep together in the safe. For me, the hardest part about concealing a Commander or Government size 1911 is the height of the grip. The butt of the grip is what prints against my clothing, thus I carry it IWB style around the appendix area. If I carry it at 3 o'clock it prints against polo and t-shirts with ease. The SIG C3 and the Nighthawk T3 remedy that problem by using the shorter Officer grip. All of that said... my biggest beef with the SIG 1911s is that they use an external extractor. Granted, all of the other SIG automatics use an external extractor also, but for some reason this reportedly causes problems on the 1911 platform that it doesn't cause on the P2xx series platform. So there you go. That's my opinion on the matter. Now, have you looked at the P220 Carry SAO yet? I have one and love it. It's a hair wider in the frame than a 1911, but it's otherwise dimensionally identical to a Commander length 1911. I think it's a more reliable gun out of the box than 99% of the 1911s out there and it's easily more accurate than I am capable of being.
  3. It's going to become required equipment on my back deck! If my range bag had MOLLE strips on it, you know I'd be right there with you.
  4. http://tacticalgrilling.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=32 Tactical Grilling Apron. This ROCKS. They even have a beer carrier for the MOLLE system!
  5. Working on it, yes. I'd leave the beer bottles for another range.
  6. Bad movie?
  7. You're off the hook and I can still claim to know you.
  8. Just because I still need to drop 20lbs and carried at Dunkin Donuts this past weekend, you don't have to get all personal on me. And I never liked Rambo much.
  9. If you're right about this movie title...
  10. I'd unload and separate the firearm from the ammo with both being in locked containers in those states. Paranoid, maybe. Covering my ass, you betcha. Especially if some local PD decided that the stereotype on musician types is true and that you guys might have some illegal substances on the bus. Search warrant from local Judge + guns improperly stored aboard a vehicle crossing jurisdictional lines = bad karma. I wouldn't chance it man.
  11. The drive to Winchester was to take care of business that I had pending with Joe. Had my family not needed to go out of town that weekend anyway, I wouldn't have done it and would have been at a soccer game instead. So, Dad... the next time I need to piss or fart, I'll email you and make sure I have your permission. Until then, go **** yourself. Welcome back to my a-hole list, Urse.
  12. Let me know how I can assist. I sent Joe some high-resolution versions of the logo and would happily do the same for you.
  13. Thanks for understanding and please take no offense. We're happy to have you here with us.
  14. Hey may have been taking a flying shot at me. We were going to get together one Saturday and shoot but that Saturday got eaten up with soccer games. I got a weekend reprieve on this particular weekend, though Translation: He saw the full auto fun and got jealous.
  15. Sweet Mary and Joseph...

  17. Another hello from Smyrna. Glad you found us.
  18. Yeah, every shop I have dealt with did the TBI check first. No pass, no sale.
  19. "One count of total lack of style... guilty. Sentence, death. To be carried out immediately."
  20. Ooooo.... you have a point. Now if only Chavez could make the trains run on time.
  21. I dig it. Not sure about the color, but I dig it none the less because no one makes an easily portable and completely practical .50cal handgun yet.
