Like I said, I had to dump them to move forward. <-- Rolling eyes emoji

Ballistic Advantage would get my vote if I was shopping for a complete upper. https://www.ballisticadvantage.com/ar-complete-uppers

Had to ditch the legacy emojis as preparation for the new version of the forum software. I anticipate moving us to it sometime in the next month.

Go ahead. US Law Shield isn't touchy about that. They realize that there are criteria that send people one way or the other between companies.

We truly don't deserve dogs but I believe they were put here to show us a little about unconditional love. I am so sorry for your loss, Doug.

Dirty Honey - When I'm Gone

I'm sadly the market demographic for this. I want one, just for a collection piece.

Well, perhaps just to spite the people I've ever made angry, I am still alive and kicking. Honestly I decided to "attack" it and just get back to rowing and lifting, hoping it would force my body to snap out of the rut I was in. It seriously seems to have helped. I did go get the nasal swab test done, for the good of my family, and should get the results back this week. We also did one of the blood antibody tests that my company has been paneling. My regular doc suspects that the swab test will be negative since I haven't been running a temperature lately. But he did concede it's possible that I did have it previously and the antibody test will tell them if I've had exposure to any of the few COVID viruses that would throw a positive. That's really the rub with the antibody tests, as I understand it. Several coronaviruses result in the same or incredibly similar antibodies, so it's kind of a highly scientific guess. Only an active viral payload found via the nasal swab is definitive. The nasal test was everything I hoped it would be. I'd say it was right on par with the time I volunteered to be the crash test-dummy for an nasopharyngeal airway demo in a PHTLS First Responder course. It wasn't painful but it would sure make for an effective alarm clock.

For the past two weeks I have been reminded of this meme... I have been through a ridiculous rollercoaster of maladies over the past month and still hold suspicion that I had my encounter with COVID-19. I still have not "manned up" and gone for a test because the idea of a Q-Tip lobotomy doesn't sound fun to me. Meanwhile I've had recurring cases of cold chills, muscle aches, periods of insatiable thirst, periods of absolutely no appetite, and a dry cough with shortness of breath that feels like the worst bronchitis I can remember. Last week I had the stomach bug. I used a teledoctor service that my company provides and the doc told me that "something" was going around in the Nashville area and that my symptoms were consistent with what she had seen. Primarily, no evacuation of the stomach (fore or aft) for any sort of relief, but rather waves of pain and nausea. So, I throw this out there not for sympathy as I am finally starting to feel somewhat better... but I am curious to know if anyone else has been on this same rollercoaster lately or if I am just special.

Okay, who did I tick off, and what did I say that did it?

If your old account got whacked, you were pending an email validation and hadn't signed on in a while. I can see about merging / renaming your account though. -
To be clear, folks on Comcast service can definitely register and use TGO, but they need to use some other email provider.
-
Comcast is practically guaranteed not to work with our site. I've started blocking people's ability to register with it because of that. I am mortified that you haven't been able to use the site since nearly May. I'll be editing your Benefactor account to fix that.
-
I spotted your account in the bad email folder again so I moved it back out. That probably restored the access you needed. As far as you getting the email again, that's a positive sign and suggests we are able to get email back to you. How long were you out of commission? I want to make sure to edit your Benefactor end date accordingly to give you time back.

Need RMR Upgrade for G21 Gen4

I have used both Primary Machine and DP Custom Works. Both did good work but I tend to gravitate toward DP Custom Works more often than not. https://primarymachine.com/ https://www.dpcustomworksllc.com/ -

There is one. EDIT... Well I spoke too soon. There was one. We've got a new setting that I need to configure, it seems. I'll make sure that this becomes a thing again.

In the past we have not deleted accounts for several reasons. It caused holes in the search index which affected everyone on the forum. It also orphaned posts and notes about an account, making it difficult for moderators to do their jobs later and spots patterns of behavior if a person decided to skirt the rules and sign up under another account. The most recent version of our software allows us to delete an account while preserving record of who posted what, so it's less of an issue. These days I would probably be more open to it than I was previously, unless the person asking for it was a known troublemaker. Then I'd have to really evaluate what we might be losing in terms of moderator notes and logs of actions taken by moderators before I did it.

Any of you who didn't know Marswolf when he was among us... Y'all would have either loved him or hated him. Shannon was an OG badass who up until the very end was serving the country for a few different alphabet soup agencies, doing some really bad things to some really bad people. AND he had great taste in music, could make me laugh like almost no other, and was just a hell of a good guy that I think of often. I'll be pouring a glass of something good tonight and raising it not only in his honor, but in the honor of the others here that we've lost too soon. We may not realize it, but we are definitely diminished each time one of our ranks sets sail for distant shores.

I received the bad news that a friend from high school passed due to COVID-19 this morning. She and her brother were twins, her being the oldest by a few minutes.
