  1. I'll just say this... nothing you read, or watch, or are told can really prepare you for it. It's not something that can really be described. You just have to do it to understand how freaking cool it is and how difficult it really can be to control them once the muzzle starts to rise. There is absolutely no comparison to shooting semi auto. Not even shooting semi auto quickly. It's a whole different animal.
  2. Now that I think of it... I don't suppose it has ever really mattered to me if someone else knew that I carried. I don't advertise it, but any problem they have with that fact strikes me as being a personal problem that they need to get over.
  3. The reason you can't post in the trading post areas is because we prefer our new members get to know us (and vice versa) in other threads before launching into just trying to sell their stuff. After you've been here for 30 days, you will be able to post in those forums as long as you've participated in other areas first.

    My new 1911

    What kind is it?
  5. Guys, I know that none of you did it for thanks... but this is just one more example of why we civilians who have never served owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to those of you who have. So many folks think that if a solider comes home alive, in one piece, that he or she hasn't suffered a loss. Not many stop to realize that there are so many other unseen losses that go unnoticed and unappreciated. Loss of time with your families, loss of health, loss of brothers in arms, loss of innocence... loss of hearing. You guys rock. Seriously.
  6. Welcome! One can only assume that you're sequentially following Phantom6. And if that avatar is a T-shirt design, you need to give a link to it!
  7. 1. Marine Scout Sniper posted overlooking the cemetery with night vision optics 2. Orders given to avoid "One Shot, One Kill" and engage by surgically removing limbs one at a time ==== Problem Solved
  8. I just want to pick up an M&P 9mm so that I can re-use my gamer gear and have something cheap to shoot. Simple wants.
  9. Good lord... the woman couldn't look any more like a rabid chipmunk if she tried.
  10. http://nashville.craigslist.org maybe? I can't remember if Craigslist lets you advertise "sporting goods" or not.
  11. Nah, there's no harm in this. A favorite shooter might be different than just showing off what you have. My favorite shooter by far is my Kimber Pro CDP II but the SIG 220 SAO is a very close second.
  12. Welcome! Always good to have new people signing up with us. Please make yourself at home.
  13. Welcome, neighbor. Fellow Smyrna-ite here as well and I shoot at On Target fairly often myself.
  14. Hmmm... the idea has merit.
  15. You too eh? Oh wait... you're probably talking literally instead of figuratively.
  16. I really hate that I missed the meeting last night. I was at work until nearly 6:50 and by the time I left, I was well past the exit ramp I would have needed to take when I remembered that the meeting was happening. This week and the past two have just been completely FUBAR for me. I'll do my best to be at the November meeting. Was an agenda for it discussed?
  17. This is ridiculous. Fred, obviously no one has deleted your posts. Your accusations to the contrary are baseless and rather insulting. Furthermore, "insulting" seems to be your weapon of choice in this thread as you continue to attack the person via name calling rather than stick to just attacking the issues. I would ask that you refrain from doing this and adjust your tactics. If you find that you cannot conduct yourself in a manner befitting an adult, then I will remove your ability to post for a short period of time so that you can reflect upon it some more. It's your choice.
  18. Well as luck would have it... I was not able to leave work early enough this evening to attend. If would be nice if someone who did would post a recap.
  19. Mmmmm... grenade launcher...
  20. We're glad to have you!
  21. Nope... there's no end to it. The sooner you come to terms with that, the sooner you can get started collecting.
  22. Welcome, Clark. Perhaps we can do a banner exchange to cross promote each site if you're interested? Very glad to see someone picking up where packing.org left off!
  23. Guys guys guys... anyone who puts on a uniform and serves this country, from Special Forces all the way to the Coast Guard, deserves a modicum of respect for asking not what their country could do for them etc etc. Everyone thinks their branch of Service is/was the best and they all make fun of everyone else. I suggest a group hug and a round of Kumbaya. Unless you're afraid of getting a big GAY hug from someone.
