  1. I had Dan Burwell do a trigger job on my M&P 40. It was very nice, but it made the take-up even longer (nothing he can do about that) and I never could quite get used to that aspect. I have an XD-9 Tactical now for gaming and love it. I might do the PistolGear "drop-in trigger job" after I've had some more range time with it, but honestly I am tempted to just leave it alone. It's quite nice where it's at.
  2. I greatly prefer the XD trigger to the M&P trigger. So there.
  3. REMINDER... 11:30am, Famous Daves, Smyrna, Saturday the 8th. The party will be seated under the name "TGO" so just ask the hostess to be directed to us. I am going to call tomorrow (Friday) and request an area to accommodate 16 people.
  4. Call off the search, I think we have our man.
  5. On a side note... it sounds like Saturday at 11:30am is not the time anyone wants to try to come and rob Famous Dave's.
  6. If we ever get the chance to shoot together, I'll bring the XD9 with me and you can give it a spin.
  7. My sister in law sent that to me.
  8. Have you had the chance to shoot an XD yet? You might really like them. I was absolutely floored at how accurate and fun my XD 9mm Tactical was the first time I shot it.
  9. A perfect example of why there are so many different choices of handguns. To me, this reads that the Glock's grip angle was perfect for your body's natural mechanics. You might have been able to adjust to the Walther, but I think a gun should feel and point like a natural extension of your hand.
  10. I bought my Glock 23 for several reasons... Affordable Durable Easy to maintain Simplified controls Reputation I sold my Glock 23 for only two reasons... Really didn't like the feel of the grip / grip angle Didn't like the unsupported chamber design That said, I really have nothing in particular against Glocks at all. I think they are fine, simple, rugged weapons. The lack of external safeties other than the trigger safety does not bother me at all, but I think that the person handling the weapon needs to have some common sense and intelligence about him or her. Would I own another? Maybe. It would just have to fit a niche need that some other gun couldn't in order for me to go back to one.
  11. Carry a spare mag 90% of the time. I don't carry more than that and honestly don't see myself carrying a backup gun anytime soon. There comes a point when you have to ask yourself, does this backup gun look right with the body armor I'm wearing or the Squad Automatic Weapon slung across my back? Or will carrying it make me look excessively paranoid to the sheep?
  12. Hahah... seems pretty Mr. & Mrs. Smith doesn't it?
  13. I understand. Feel free to drop me a PM if you want. I'd love to see any pictures you might have of your Wilsons. I think the next one I get will have to be a CQB gov't length.
  14. That's what I am afraid of. What all do you have?
  15. Now if only we could get Tennessee to allow legal restaurant carry where alcohol is served as long as we're not partaking. For crying out loud - Kentucky allows it.
  16. It's worse than some but better than a lot of others.
  17. You are correct.
  18. Some of you Smyrna PD guys may know NoBling professionally. He tends to work the street corners in the seedy parts of town. Actually, ya'll cuff 'em and he stuffs 'em, but he's hoping to get into the cuffing side of the business from what I've heard.
  19. If that makes you feel good, keep telling yourself that, Squirt. Pardon me while I whip this out...
  20. I have no idea who she is.
  21. How much .45acp and 223 do you have? I might take it off your hands.
  22. Man, you guys have been thirsty today!
  23. Your sentiments regarding the furniture mirror my own thoughts. Hornet Handler was fondling one of these rifles at Hero Gear last weekend and while I think that the gas piston design is a nice one, I'm still not feeling the plastic fore grip or the cheesy M4gery collapsible stock. The stock really seems like an afterthought. I wonder how long until someone starts producing some decent looking aftermarket furniture for them.
  24. Butt-checks carry. It's all the rage with the Spetznaz. They stick their Makarov down the back of their pants and clench real tight. It leaves their hands free for maneuvers like this...
  25. The KZ was one of those answers to a question that no one had really asked. I had the chance to hold one of them at a gun show once and scratched my head, trying to figure out why you would want a polymer framed 1911. In all fairness, you can't really compare those to the traditional Wilson 1911s. Two totally different animals. I like to think of the KZ as being what happened when one of Bill Wilson's 1911s somehow got out of the shop one night, ventured to the wrong part of town, scored some action with a loose Glock 17 and 9 months later got a knock on the door.
