That sight retaining pin shouldn't be sticking up like that. The other problems you listed may just go away with break-in.
  2. When I sent my old Smith & Wesson M&P 40 off to have the trigger lightened, the gunsmith used some of Enos' Slide Glide on it. I was impressed with the way that it clung to the moving parts and it lasted for a good 500 rds or so of sustained shooting. That's my only experience with it.
  3. Barrel / slide length have very little impact on IWB comfort with a 1911 unless you go for a true long-slide version. That said, I'd still recommend a Commander length (Pro Carry) version instead of the Ultra Carry. Better accuracy and you'll likely have better reliability out of the longer slide version than a shorter slide version.
  4. Sounds good. Wish I had time to pull that together for tomorrow night, but it'll have to wait for some other time.

    Good Morning

Any morning above ground is a good one. This one will be better once I have coffee.
  6. S&W 442 with Speer Gold Dot 135gr +P in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. Bianchi Speedstrip with five more rounds in my other pocket.
  7. Hello and welcome.
  8. The K&D that I had was a work of art. But I didn't have it long enough to attest to it's long-term durability.
  9. I have always owned CTAC holsters until recently then started buying their MTAC kydex and leather hybrids. The MTAC is a much better holster than the CTAC in terms of long-wear comfort. That said, I do not find that there is much of a difference in draw between a good leather holster and a Kydex holster. I prefer my leather Milt Sparks Versa-Max II over my MTAC. The VM2 is an example of what good leather should feel like. 90% of the stuff Galco produces is mediocre; so don't base your decisions off of that. Galco does produce custom holsters but the cost and wait time is similar to leather from good leathersmiths like Milt Sparks, Tucker, K&D, etc.
  10. From my conversation with Sean, it sounded like a Friday night match would be in mind if this happens again. We did this on a Friday night at the first of the year and it was perfect. Everyone could sleep in on Saturday if they wanted. Saturday nights are almost as bad as week nights since some folks go to church on Sunday morning.
  11. Reliability: Kahr Economy: Kel-Tec I'm a reliability kind of guy. I don't care if it's cheap if it won't hold up.
  12. I'd look at the Kahr PM9 (#PM9093N / PM9094N) then. This is their 3.0" barrel version with night sights. The 93N is the stainless slide and the 94N is the blackened slide version. Source: http://www.kahr.com/PA-1_9mm_pm.html
  13. I've never wanted to be an AR15 magazine so much before in my life.

    Favorite Grips?

Those are good. The "Hand All" or whatever they call the slip-on-grip is the one I would avoid since Hogue makes replacement grip panels like that for the gun.
  15. Sean @ On Target and I were talking about that last night. They did a Friday night match back during the first few months of 2007 and I really enjoyed it. It was easily one of the most fun matches I've ever shot. He seemed open to the idea of doing a nighttime shoot again sometime.
  16. I love my little Smith & Wesson #442 snubnose revolver. DAO, economical, fits great into a pocket. Just had to throw that out there.
  17. OMG... STOP WITH THE FONTS. ktnx.
  18. I'm ashamed that no one pointed this guy to our Database of ranges, gun shops and posted locations. You're all banned. Except for the new guy.
  19. I was just informed tonight that On Target will not be doing the USPSA shoot this month (January) and may be taking a break from it for a while to come. Apparently turnout is good for them in the colder months because folks enjoy shooting indoors, but not good during the warmer months. Yes... I realize that this is Winter and therefore turnout should be good. But it's more of a fact that they had decided not to do it in 2008. If enough people were to honestly commit to attending some matches if On Target were to host them again --and actually show up (!!!)-- then they might take that into consideration and host them again. www.onttargettn.com

  21. Agreed. It will be well worth your drive to visit Hero Gear. Plus you'll get to meet many of the local TGO members.
  22. You might check and see if there are any special provisions for military who were deployed over seas at the time the permit expired.

    Favorite Grips?

Your options for SIG grips are limited. Hogue makes rubber replacements (not wrap-arounds) which I like. Hogue also makes anodized aluminum grips that are thinner than either the factory plastic or the Hogue rubber grips. I'm not sure I'd be that crazy about aluminum grips. NIL makes some excellent wood grips, but since you said you don't like wood grain grips those are out.
  24. One of the best gifts ever.
  25. Some clothes Kitchen cutlery set Lens for the camera S&W 442 snubby revolver My kids are old enough (14 and 12) that they are almost past the point of being hyperactive at Christmas but still enjoy ripping through their loot to see what they have received.
