  1. I received this via email. Posting it here for those who may be interested. --David TENNESSEE FIREARMS ASSOCIATION, INC. LEGISLATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE The Nashville January meeting would normally be scheduled for the third Tuesday which would be the 15th this month. It has come too us pretty quick. I have talked with a few of those who have been attending and am getting mixed interests about meeting next week to talk about what I was planning to address and that is "What is TFA and where is it going next." I would also like some quick feedback on whether to keep meeting at APPS or possibly try to move the meeting to a restaurant and get one of the meeting rooms. This would not necessarily be an every month change but I am thinking more of a meet, eat, visit and talk session for January. What about meeting on the 15th at a restaurant for pizza, Chinese buffet, Golden Coral, Ryan's, Shoney's or other similar types of casual locations that tend to having meeting space? Also, we are looking at a speaker for February who will be talking about the Tennessee Military Collectors Association and sharing some information on Class III firearms. Please take any responses to this thread so everyone can participate: http://www.tfaonline.org/memberforum/viewtopic.php?p=4093#4093 John Harris Exec. 2. In a word... Yes.
  3. And thus we arrive at the crux of the situation.
  4. I laughed out loud at this. In all fairness, the actual user count over there is 4,129 as of this very moment. I have purged a lot of dead-weight members from Tennesspeed over the years.
  5. I'm glad everyone enjoys TGO. I was unsure if it would fly or not when I set it up.
  6. Paul put an end to the rabbinical prohibition on pork in the New Testa... oh... right.
  7. I am seriously thinking about shooting at Dickson next weekend. Anyone else going?
  8. Welcome! 101st and next Metro PD... one battlefield to another, eh?

    GOT IT

Dude, you seriously need to cut out the big Crayola fonts and colors. It's annoying.
  10. Make these people come to YOU from now on. Why leave a gun state for a no-gun state?
  11. You know what ex-wives are good for? Paper changers.
  12. I've not heard of them before now. If no one chimes in, you'll have to give us a report when you're done with your class.
  13. Ignore everyone from East Tennessee... they're a bunch of troublemakers.
  14. Chances are it's a Bar-Sto, Wolf or other 3rd party barrel.
  15. You'll need to have the barrel fit to the gun. Fit being a verb in this case. It's going to take a gunsmith to do it, so I'd start hunting around for one.

    Springfield EMP

That sight retaining pin shouldn't be sticking up like that. The other problems you listed may just go away with break-in.
  17. When I sent my old Smith & Wesson M&P 40 off to have the trigger lightened, the gunsmith used some of Enos' Slide Glide on it. I was impressed with the way that it clung to the moving parts and it lasted for a good 500 rds or so of sustained shooting. That's my only experience with it.
  18. Barrel / slide length have very little impact on IWB comfort with a 1911 unless you go for a true long-slide version. That said, I'd still recommend a Commander length (Pro Carry) version instead of the Ultra Carry. Better accuracy and you'll likely have better reliability out of the longer slide version than a shorter slide version.
  19. Sounds good. Wish I had time to pull that together for tomorrow night, but it'll have to wait for some other time.

    Good Morning

Any morning above ground is a good one. This one will be better once I have coffee.
  21. S&W 442 with Speer Gold Dot 135gr +P in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. Bianchi Speedstrip with five more rounds in my other pocket.
  22. Hello and welcome.
  23. The K&D that I had was a work of art. But I didn't have it long enough to attest to it's long-term durability.
  24. I have always owned CTAC holsters until recently then started buying their MTAC kydex and leather hybrids. The MTAC is a much better holster than the CTAC in terms of long-wear comfort. That said, I do not find that there is much of a difference in draw between a good leather holster and a Kydex holster. I prefer my leather Milt Sparks Versa-Max II over my MTAC. The VM2 is an example of what good leather should feel like. 90% of the stuff Galco produces is mediocre; so don't base your decisions off of that. Galco does produce custom holsters but the cost and wait time is similar to leather from good leathersmiths like Milt Sparks, Tucker, K&D, etc.
