1. I could see myself letting the HK P2000 .40SW go for something like this.
2. You know that I liked my P220 Carry SAO. You also know that I traded it off. Why? Too bulky given that there are plenty of other options for a reliable .45ACP in packages slightly smaller and more concealable. I carried the P220 Carry SAO once and that was for 9+ hours in a VM2 holster. It was nowhere near as comfortable to carry as my HK P2000 or my 1911. What about the HK 45C? Or the forthcoming M&P 45c? Those two really float my boat lately.
3. Speaking to the issue of a "carry" organization catering to Tennessee... if that benefits the cause in a way different than what TGO does, I am all for it. TGO was never intended to be or become a political lobbying organization. Rather the desire was for it to be a grassroots mechanism for informing, educating and motivating the masses in respect to the issues that affect us all as sportsmen and firearms enthusiasts. If we can motivate someone to partner with an organization like the TFA, NRA, GOA, and work through them to become politically affective, then we've done a good thing. That said, I really don't see us (TGO) evolving into an official, active, lobbying force and honestly hope that we don't. That brings with it baggage that we presently don't carry, and the lack of which makes us much more "nimble" and proactive. *shrug*
4. There IS a lot more to this story. The bottom line is that Voldemort basically asked for all of this to happen to him by ignoring the old adage that discretion is the better part of valor. http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44483 All you want to know is there.
5. Comcast filters our emails heavily. I recommend GMail.
6. Eddie, you might want to edit your first post in the thread to reflect the details. For the ADD challenged like me.
7. Cool. As it stands, I think we'll be there.
8. That's much better to hear. I could tell you where all of the dead spots in my yard and home were when I had Cingular a few years ago.
9. I've had mine for about 6 months now and wear it daily, both with and without a holster. It looks like a quality casual leather belt and has held up very well. I'm probably going to order another in black soon.
10. Regarding Motorola battery life... my experience with the Q has been quite the opposite of what others have said here. I can get several days worth of "stand by" time out of a full charge and really only have to top it off at night if I've been especially busy with the phone during the day. Batteries for the Q are relatively cheap on eBay so I wouldn't let that be much of a concern. For that matter, batteries for almost any of the PDAs listed are cheap on eBay. I understand that AT&T's network coverage has improved a bit over the past few years but there was a time when you couldn't have paid me to use the Cingular GSM network. It wasn't a matter of where you had dead zones... it was a matter of where you could find signal. Verizon doesn't have the flashiest phones, but they do have the best network coverage in my opinion.
11. If you want a traditional leather belt that will hold your firearm up, invest in a sturdy purpose-built belt. www.thebeltman.net is my personal pick.
12. The most important questions that you need to ask yourself about this decision are: 1. Which is more important to you: Phone capabilities or PDA capabilities? Many of the PDA devices lack sorely in the phone department. Some suffer from horrible reception. Others have really bad speakers in the earpiece. Yet others are clumsy for dialing numbers not in your contacts list. If the device must function first and foremost as a usable phone and second as a PDA, that will narrow your scope a lot. 2. Do you want a Windows, Palm or Blackberry operating system? This may seem like a "Duh" question but it is very important. Almost equally as important as whether it is more important to have a good phone than to have a good PDA. At my company, we have standardized on Windows PDAs because of the tight integration with our Microsoft Exchange e-mail servers. If that isn't a consideration for you, then I would give a closer look at the Palm OS devices like the Treos. Blackberries are great PDAs and have decent phone capabilities, but they shine the most when they are integrated with a corporate e-mail system through a Blackberry Enterprise Server installation. Otherwise you have to run a desktop redirector application that passes your email through to your PDA over the air. My personal carry is a Motorola Q. It uses the Windows Mobile OS and is a great phone and a passable PDA. I've been pleased with it so far.
13. That's me... and I appreciate the comments about looking young. I don't get that sort of comment much anymore. Actually my brother in law is about 6'4" tall and I stand about 5'9" ... so he sort of towers over me at almost exactly half my age.
14. Welcome! Enjoy your visits with us.
15. Welcome. The avatar made me smile... nice throwback to the 80's pulp TV.
16. I will run it by her to be sure... but my wife and I may be able to make this.
17. I'm starting to consider Duracoat for an upcoming handgun build for my wife. She'd really like something with a pink slide so this seems like the only way to go about it. Unless one of you is aware of another finish that can be had in feminine colors like pink.
18. I thought about you while we were shooting. Once again it was a spur of the moment decision to go. I think we may have to schedule a get together sometime soon so that a few of us can go down there and punch holes in paper.
19. My wife and I took my brother-in-law to the range this weekend and introduced him to the fun world of shooting. It was not only his first time at the range but his first time shooting a gun of any sort. I gave him the basic primer on firearm safety at our house along with a review of the handguns that we would be shooting that day: Springfield XD Tactical 9mm, HK P2000 .40SW and the Wilson Combat 1911 .45ACP. At the range, we worked through them in that order but he spent the most time with the XD 9mm. It seems that gun is quickly becoming a favorite with the folks that I have let shoot it, but my wife is steadily aquiring a taste for the Wilson Combat too. Anyway, just a few pictures -- no faces since I didn't ask permission before posting these. PS: He had a blast. And my wife caught this shot with muzzle flash evident... He flinched a little during that shot. Overcoming the instinctive reaction to flinch is something that just comes with time and exposure to the sport. He actually did great for his first session out.
20. Pfft... you just need to spread the display cases out a little further.
21. More like the Mossad. Now that you've asked, we may never hear from you again.

New M&P

Had one. Sold it. BTW, I still have my XD Tactical 9mm. Love it.
23. Eddie, I think you forgot to sign out your wife's account before you posted this. But I agree that you often do pick grips that accentuate your eyes or your shoes -- and that's something most guys don't worry about.
24. Folks, let's keep the discussion to the topic at hand and leave personal barbs out of it. No-armed musicians are ... um ... musicians too.

New M&P

I enjoyed my M&P pistols quite a bit. I did end up selling my two .40SW models (compact and full-size) in order to move to the HK P2000, but that was simply because I wanted the HK and not because I had any problems out of my M&Ps. I have recently begun thinking about another M&P... this time maybe the 9c or even the new 45c once it's in production.
