    You suck.
  4. Well, normally I hate them... but we've got it set that way over on the car forum because of some idiot kids.
  5. Here are some of the snippets that I thought were thought provoking...
  6. Well crap. I'll repost some of it here then.
  7. I saw this thread on another forum and thought it was worth linking you guys to as well. Very good information on all fronts. Especially the posts by member ToddG. http://mp-pistol.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=13364&hl=
  8. No, she normally reads over my shoulder at home. I'll mention it to her tonight and see if she'll sign up.
  9. Old Gregg is much better. Can I interest you in a Baileys?
  10. I think the most shocking thing -- to me at least -- is the lack of popularity for the .40SW round in this poll. If I were to have guessed I would have predicted that the .40SW would have been more popular than the 9mm. Interesting.
  11. She might browse now and again at home. Really that'd be about it since she doesn't have much web access at work.
  12. The more my wife talks about wanting a 1911, the more I keep thinking about that particular gun. Got any pics? Price?
  13. Working on it some now... just not sure if I like the current layout...
  14. Which one is it?
  15. I'm glad that the numbers for 9mm are starting to shoot up in the poll. I was actually wondering how many were carrying 9mm for self defense... and no, not being skeptical.
  16. I need to get my wife to sign up so that she can hang out in here some.
  17. She's got a sister but she's been taken for a while. Not sure if she'd really be into shooting guns, let alone cleaning them. Maybe we'll work on her some.

I've been giving serious thought to some XS big dots for my HK P2000. I really like them.
  19. @ Dotsun Ok, I am going to work on this some today and get the old icon (or a more noticeable one) back onto the forum and make some more minor changes to the layout. Thanks for the feedback.
  20. True! I was actually pretty shocked that my wife wanted to clean the guns. I mean, she cleans around the house all the time but she really has this driving urge to learn about what makes machines tick. She even wants me to teach her how to change the oil in her truck sometime soon. Come to think of it... we just got her signed onto my life insurance as a beneficiary. Maybe she's planning to get rid of me! :P
  21. .38 Special , .40SW and .45ACP are my choices at the moment.
  22. Last night my wife and I spent time cleaning the handguns we took to the middle Tennessee TGO meet on Saturday. She's way past shooting everything that we own, so Saturday she asked if I'd show her how to clean them. Yesterday she followed along as I cleaned the HK and then she disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the XD with me just making suggestions along the way. We were pushed for time so I cleaned up the 1911, but she followed along to make sure that she'd know how to do it if she ever has to. I love that woman.
  23. Just wondering what handgun calibers you're carrying for self defense out there on the mean streets of Tennessee. Please take a second to vote in our poll. You may choose more than one option if you have several different handguns that you pick from given the circumstances.
  24. Before we close this thread and all move on to something different... I want to point out a few things that I feel need pointing out: #1) The accusation was made the the moderators on TGO are guilty of editing or deleting threads and posts. My gut told me that this was untrue but I went and verified just as Eddie did. The forum software keeps a log of all moderator actions and there just aren't any instances of this happening in a very, very long time. The one moderator who did occasionally edit or delete things that he didn't like was relieved from duty a while back. It seems therefore that a false perception exists about the way the moderators do their job here. I can substantiate, with evidence from the server's own log files, that no one is abusing their moderator powers by squelching things just because they don't agree with what was said. The very fact that THIS thread has gone on for as long as it has is proof that we don't make knee jerk reactions to things. #2) It needs to be pointed out that the ETS, Inc. / Frank issue was being handled behind the scenes several days before the membership at large caught wind of it. The raffle thread was pulled into a holding area, out of the public eye, for several days while Eddie and I consulted each other and Frank and tried to figure out how to best handle the situation. Just because you didn't see every detail of what was going on, it didn't mean that diplomatic negotiations weren't taking place out of your line of sight. #3) Along that line of thought, the sad irony here is that the people who screamed the loudest about the ETS issue and demanded that we be held publicly accountable to the members of TGO for our decision may have screwed Frank in the process. How? There were details that we did not initially make public because we felt that withholding said information was for Frank's own good. We wanted to give him time to modify the raffle to avoid legal ramifications. We had our concerns about the potentially illegal nature of the machine gun raffle. But we did not see any reason to post those concerns publicly. It occurred to us that doing so potentially made it easier for the State to make a case against him if they so desired. We tried as best as we could to keep some of the ETS situation out of the public eye. Some of you wouldn't let us do that. Congratulations! You may have made it worse on Frank by forcing our hand and demanding that we disclose the full details of what happened. Now it's recorded for public viewing. In the future, some of the members here may want to give the Staff a little more credit and let them handle things discretely. In turn, we will try to be more open with the members at large once negotiations break down and more drastic measures have to be taken. Full disclosure seems to be a better choice for the Whole while it may still not be the best option for the Individual. That's just how life works. You have a very good team of moderators working on your behalf here at TGO. They are some of the most impartial folks that I've ever met and handle situations daily with a lot of tact and decorum. Believe it or not, the moderators don't always agree with each other all the time and there are instances where we call each other out onto the carpet in the Staff forum. We do keep each other in check just so that this place doesn't become a one-man show. The day that the moderators all start agreeing with me consistently is the day that I shake things up and make Urse a moderator. Now... go enjoy the forum. Treat each other well. [Thread Closed]
