  1. It might. Duracoat has a product made for grips. I may check into that.
  2. The HK P7 had polygonal rifling long before Gaston had made his first Glock. Sorry. Edit... Crap, beaten to the punch by Mars.
  3. I've had my gun expose itself when I bent over to pick up a few cases of bottled water at Wal-Mart once. A lady behind me was standing there staring when I stood back up, so I just smiled and tugged my shirt back down over it and said "Ma'am" as I walked past her. Really it should have been a "Duh" revelation to her. We were in Wal-Mart. In Smyrna. Of COURSE there's gonna be people carrying guns in there.
  4. Glock Carry Report - Day Four I have carried my Glock 19 for four days now. Carry method has been inside the waistband in a Comp-Tac MTAC kydex/leather holster. I always carry "Condition One" with a round in the chamber. I have unholstered and reholstered a few times each day, notably: Holstered in the morning to leave for work Unholstered to store in my locked desk drawer at work Holstered when running to lunch or other errands Unholstered to store in my desk upon returning Holstered to leave work at the end of the day Unholstered to place in night stand at the end of the day So far, even with a round in the chamber and Glock's inherently unsafe at any speed design, I've managed not to shoot myself in the leg or ass.
  5. I keep mine concealed as well. But I don't panic if I'm reaching for a box of Cheerios on the top shelf at Publix and some nervous nancy sees my firearm when my shirt lifts a little. I'm legal, she can get over it.
  6. nosnos ... That feeling takes a while to shake, but the more you carry the more you will realize that most people never even consider that those around them may be armed. Unless you do a horrible job of covering your sidearm, 99.9999999% of the people you encounter each day won't even think to look much less actually notice that you have a firearm concealed. Eventually you may even find yourself not caring if they do notice. That's where I'm at these days. In Tennessee, it is a handgun carry permit not a concealment permit. If someone notices and I'm in an area where I am legally allowed to carry, it's their problem. Not mine.
  7. I was going to recommend Hero Gear... but...
  8. I am going to direct you to Hilton Yam's 10-8 forum and a thread in particular that deals with malfunctions on 1911 pistols. Now before you wonder what that has to do with the price of tea in China since you're toting an XD and that thread is about 1911s, a lot of the same principles apply here. A little deduction is all it may take to help you figure out what went wrong with that particular round in that particular magazine under those particular circumstances. http://www.10-8forums.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=52142&an=0&page=0#52142 Enjoy!
  9. The problem that we're having is that none of these manufacturers make rubber grips in pink. They all make hard grips in pink or, worse yet, pink pearl. So the search continues.
  10. Also good for finding alternate routes home on those commutes when every major artery in and out of town gets clogged with wrecks. As sometimes happens here in Nashville. I'm pretty knowledgeable about the roads around here (+10 years resident) but I still need a little help every now and again. When I do, the GPS comes out of the glove box and up onto the dash.
  11. Bad news... I called Smith & Wesson this morning and spoke with a guy in their customer service department. He was familiar with the grips in question but stated that they did not have them or at least did not have them for sale separately. He directed me to a manufacturer of the pink "pearlite" grips which I think are pretty hideous. Now I have to break the news to my wife.
  12. Funny... the M-Factor site also mentions that the carry case can be "re-tasked" to carry multiple XD pistols or even a laptop. I guess that's for high speed, low drag web browsing.
  13. We have the Garmin Nuvi 350. So far I'm very pleased with it.
  14. We won't be adding this feature to other areas of the forum as it would invariably lead to utter chaos anytime someone puts their foot in their mouth or disagrees with the replies being posted to "their" thread and decides to moderate the evidence out of existence. Sorry guys.
  15. You're not missing it. It's a feature that I sorely need to add, and will soon.
  16. Can't tell you. It's a secret.
  17. Welcome! And thank you for your service to our country.
  18. I think the biggest downside the Glocks is the amount of BS that people get for preferring them over other makes and models. Sadly that's also the biggest downside that Wilson Combat owners suffer, that XD owners suffer, that Ruger owners suffer, that revolver owners suffer, that automatic owners suffer... etc.
  19. Welcome!
  20. You got a tracking # on that order for them yet? DICK.
  21. These aren't her gun but it is a #642 with the pink grips we'll be ordering this week, so long as S&W still stocks them.
  22. French Canadian.
  23. So that's like... 18mm
  24. Holy cow! I stand absolutely corrected. I'll pull that photo off of my phone on Monday and post it up.
