  1. Update... Ordered the "Pink Lady" color Duracoat from Lauer Custom Weaponry today. Order includes the pink Duracoat, white Duracoat base, reducer and flex agent. Once these arrive, I will remove the grips from the gun and paint them with an airbrush. Hopefully it will hold up fairly well.
  2. I can't believe I just watched the entire old Captain America clip.
  3. Really can't imagine Guns & Leather providing substandard service in any area. I've always been impressed with them every time I've visited. In fact, that was going to be my suggestion for him if he was looking for a nice indoor range to shoot at in close proximity to downtown Nashville.
  4. Sounds like Gun City. If so, that's not the first time I have heard of them providing shoddy service in any area. I'd find another range to shoot at if that were the case.
  5. We can officially close this thread. Apparently he owns a Glock, as evidenced by these serial # pics posted just this morning on Glocktalk.
  6. That's a double edged sword you keep swinging around, you know. Sooner or later you will goof up and someone will use "any legal way [they] can ruin your reputation" and stick it really far up a place you don't wash well. When that happens, you're going to understand why sometimes it's nice when people choose to show a little lenience. In the meantime, suppose this instructor just screwed up on their paperwork or something. Let's not lynch them just yet. More details would be nice.
  7. This one made me laugh out loud.
  8. That's crazy talk. She already has her eye on a silver Wilson. We'll see what Santa brings this year.
  9. As for the matter at hand... I think I am going to order another set of the OEM grips from Smith & Wesson and use Duracoat with flex-agent added to paint them pink for her. That should work according to what I've seen on other gun forums.
  10. Nope, not a stupid question. Hero Gear is in Winchester, TN. You can click on one of their banner ads (shown randomly at the top of pages here) or just go to www.hero-gear.com for their address and contact info.
  11. Waitaminnit... I thought your situation was resolved to your satisfaction. So you're still losing your carry permit?
  12. Here's my serious suggestion for the day... Rabbi, perhaps bring her to one of the Meet & Shoots and let her hang around some of the other ladies. As they are wont to do, women talk amongst themselves and they might provide all the impetus your wife needs. Granted, most of the Meets happen on Saturdays and that makes it a bit difficult for you ... but maybe a Sunday get together will happen one day. You know us Gentiles; we tend to do everything but rest on our 7th day.
  13. I've seen their advertisement in various magazines. Is it anything more than a money machine for the guy who started it?
  14. Extrapolating on another thread... If Jesus carried... what would it be? Modern weapons, people. Don't wanna hear about slingshots or spears or bolts of lightning shoved up people's butts.
  15. That's a pretty good question. Thankfully Molonlabe and the other moderators are pretty good at keeping things afloat without me. Perhaps more seriously, my wife fell asleep on the couch earlier while I was upstairs painting one of the bedrooms. The Glock was near her on the coffee table. I was both horrified and relieved when I came downstairs and saw this, but realized that it hadn't shot her while she was sleeping.
  16. I agree with this completely. We as a community (TGO) really need to strive to move beyond this sort of thing. Closing this thread as it seems to have outlived it's usefulness.
  17. It might. Duracoat has a product made for grips. I may check into that.
  18. The HK P7 had polygonal rifling long before Gaston had made his first Glock. Sorry. Edit... Crap, beaten to the punch by Mars.
  19. I've had my gun expose itself when I bent over to pick up a few cases of bottled water at Wal-Mart once. A lady behind me was standing there staring when I stood back up, so I just smiled and tugged my shirt back down over it and said "Ma'am" as I walked past her. Really it should have been a "Duh" revelation to her. We were in Wal-Mart. In Smyrna. Of COURSE there's gonna be people carrying guns in there.
  20. Glock Carry Report - Day Four I have carried my Glock 19 for four days now. Carry method has been inside the waistband in a Comp-Tac MTAC kydex/leather holster. I always carry "Condition One" with a round in the chamber. I have unholstered and reholstered a few times each day, notably: Holstered in the morning to leave for work Unholstered to store in my locked desk drawer at work Holstered when running to lunch or other errands Unholstered to store in my desk upon returning Holstered to leave work at the end of the day Unholstered to place in night stand at the end of the day So far, even with a round in the chamber and Glock's inherently unsafe at any speed design, I've managed not to shoot myself in the leg or ass.
  21. I keep mine concealed as well. But I don't panic if I'm reaching for a box of Cheerios on the top shelf at Publix and some nervous nancy sees my firearm when my shirt lifts a little. I'm legal, she can get over it.
  22. nosnos ... That feeling takes a while to shake, but the more you carry the more you will realize that most people never even consider that those around them may be armed. Unless you do a horrible job of covering your sidearm, 99.9999999% of the people you encounter each day won't even think to look much less actually notice that you have a firearm concealed. Eventually you may even find yourself not caring if they do notice. That's where I'm at these days. In Tennessee, it is a handgun carry permit not a concealment permit. If someone notices and I'm in an area where I am legally allowed to carry, it's their problem. Not mine.
