Let me just say that I have run a vBulletin forum for over 6 years... and today was the first time in that entire 6 year run that I have managed to absolutely jack up the database by copying and pasting the wrong piece of code. The bad news is that I had to go ahead and wipe out the database and restore from a backup a little more than 24 hours old. The good news is that we're back online in a hell of a lot less time than it would have taken for me and the vBulletin tech support people to get the existing data cleaned up and straightened back out. I am soooo pissed. So...

We lost a friend recently and the avatars are just a tribute out of respect. Pink was her favorite color, so several of us have decided to "wear pink" today to honor her.

First, you should consider signing up for the M&P Pistols forum. Second, for a while there, you could call Smith & Wesson customer support and ask for the extended baseplates for the magazines. They would send them out free of charge at the time. The last I heard, however, they had started selling them rather than giving them away. Also, you need to put a few hundred rounds through the gun before you seriously consider carrying it for self defense. The compact models were especially bad about locking the slide back prematurely because of weak springs in the slide stop lever. S&W will fix this for you and pays shipping both directions. It took about 5 days for me to get my 9c back from them a year ago when it started acting up. Enjoy your new gun.

Several of you who have attended the past two middle Tennessee TGO meet & shoots have expressed interest in joining the Owl Hollow Gun Club (OHGC). If you have shot with us these past two months, you know just how nice of a facility OHGC has. To join OHGC one must attend an hour-long orientation meeting and pay a $50/yr membership fee. Visitors pay $5 per visit to use the facilities, so if you shoot there more than ten times a year, you might as well join. Presently the orientation meetings are scheduled for Monday mornings and one Saturday a month, per the OHGC calendar as posted online. However, TGO member and OHGC member Hunter H. has approached the club administration about having a special "TGO Orientation" at the time of our choosing. The catch is, we need enough people to attend to make this worthwhile. So if you are interested in joining OHGC and would like to attend a special TGO orientation meeting to be held on a week night rather than a Monday or Saturday morning, please respond and vote in the attached poll to indicate what night would work best for you. Once we have a reasonable head count, we will take that information back to the OHGC administration and try to set something up. Thanks!
