  1. It's custodies and what are you implying? I didn't call anyone a dick. I just presented a hypothesis.
  2. I think we need Terry Tate: Forum Linebacker to keep fools in check.
  3. Honestly the only times I hear "vegas" added to anything, the town has a name ending in "ville". To me it seems pretty obvious that it is a tongue in cheek, sarcastic way of mocking the town in question. Tomorrow I'm going to start a thread asking why some people add the suffix "-inator" to people's names. Like Mikenator. Rabbiinator. Marsinator. Stay tuned!!!
  4. Yep. Depending on the web browser you are using (works with MS IE7, Firefox, Safari, etc.) you will see a background in the top menu of the forum. Like that.
  5. This is very handy information. Thanks for the link; I may have to put that to use sometime soon.

    Tempting...

If you can pull off buying both a 1911 and a P220... the choice is obvious. Good luck with your endeavor! You really can't go wrong with either platform.
  7. It's wrong to ask a question of the public at large and not want to listen to the responses. Unless you just like being a dick to people.
  8. That's the stupidest complaint I have heard this morning. The random banners are absolutely no comparison to the photo gallery. When you figure out how to upload your pictures into the random banner rotation, I'll take another look at your complaint.
  9. I call it Nashtropolis just to **** with Mike. Seriously.
  10. Cool. I kind of doubt it was, though. The extractor claw looked a little handicapped and we've tried several types of ammo in the past. Not ruling it out entirely, but I'm hoping that this fixed it.
  11. If you need your screen name edited, I can do that for you. Welcome!
  12. Heh... this is rather ironic. I was just working on our 10/22 tonight installing a buffer pin and a Volquartsen extractor and increased power extractor spring. Hopefully these things will solve the jamming problem it was having. Guess we'll see this weekend.
  13. Well these aren't pulling from the gallery. I had to create a few files and load them into an array for this to happen. So don't worry about suddenly having a 1920 x 1200 pixel picture of Rabbi up there.
  14. True that any mag can be made to fail with the right amount of crap shoved into it. Not entirely true that Glock mags are metal coated with plastic. They are made of the the same polymer as the gun's frame but have metal reinforcements to keep them from flexing and give rigidity to the feed lips. It's not uncommon to see Glock mags spill their guts if loaded full and then dropped onto a hard concrete floor. The baseplates can pop off and send rounds, follower and spring in all directions. Strong recoil spring and stable follower design are key factors in having mags that function properly in adverse conditions.
  15. To be fair, the XD itself was cycling fine. It was the follower in the magazine that was a problem. It became stuck in the magazine tube itself and as rounds were stripped off the top, the follower wasn't moving with them so the remaining rounds became a jumbled mess inside the magazine. Stronger magazine springs might remedy the situation, but these mags were virtually brand new and still had very stiff springs.
  16. Are you referring to my XD? It wasn't caked up much at all. In fact, I was shooting it on the drier of the two days when the soil had already had a chance to dry up a bit. The Glock mags had some serious mud in them. The XD mags were just gritty and dirty from being dropped nose first into the soil.
  17. I'm just saying. He sounds like an NFL linebacker. I'm not going to go up to him and demand that he carry concealed!
  18. You guys aren't going to let me enjoy my Kool Aid are you?
  19. You're a walking wall. Who's going to come up and tell you to disarm if you open carry?!?
  20. But... that's what the big cylindrical thing is on the front of the barrel in that last picture.
  21. I should also note that these barrels are "drop in" replacements and that they use common 1/2 x 28 thread and that they are available in other calibers than 9mm. That particular vendor was listing them around $170 for the threaded version at the time of his post, but non-threaded are also available. Add your favorite suppressor and you have some really cool "active hearing protection" for your next range outing.
  22. I thought these were mouth watering to say the least. Storm Lake is now producing threaded barrels for the Smith & Wesson M&P automatic handguns. These pictures are courtesy of a vendor over on another forum. The gentleman who posted them reported that Storm Lake had advised that his shot groups would improve noticeably with their barrels installed. He was happy to report that this was indeed the case. You can reach them at http://www.grtactical.com/ or you can source the barrels from your favorite supplier.
