Pink's the new Black.

BCG and barrel are running $430-450 depending on reseller. The rest of it's pretty much cookie cutter AR15.

I had the distinct pleasure of introducing my lovely wife to the world of firearms and it's turned out that not only is she a great shot and a fast learner but also easy to shop for. Basically the rules for success are (1.) it has to be a badass weapon and (2.) it has to incorporate the color pink in it somewhere. When I picked up the lower receiver for my AR15 short barrel rifle project, I bought a second receiver to be kept non-NFA. While it may eventually have a 5.56mm upper built for it as well, more immediately I am going to use it to build a .22LR AR15 weapon platform. This rifle will use a lot of parts I already have handy as well as a few things that we'll have to order. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the year. It sounds like my wife may receive hers sometime around the middle of October if this trend is any indication. We finalized her HCP application on June 10th. Four months to approve and issue is pretty damn pathetic given how fast our good friend and ardent 2nd Amendment Rights supporter Jimmy Naifeh got his.

Nashville area gun dealers who will receive firearms for a fee
TGO David replied to Luckyforward's topic in Handguns
Rabbi's stance the last time I asked him about this was that he wouldn't transfer in a firearm that he could sell you himself. His rates were also higher than anyone else that I had checked with at the time. He may have changed both of these things since then, so the best thing do to is just call him and ask for the Tungsten Special. He'll probably give you a great price just to spite me, which works out perfectly for you and keeps me on his mind. www.eastsidegunshop.com has the phone number. Ask about the waffles and chicken special while you've got him on the phone. Bellshire Hardware reportedly has good pricing on inbound FFL transfers for the Nashville area. Guns & Leather, On Target, Hero Gear and others are all pretty much in the same general ballpark and don't mind transferring in a weapon regardless if they have the same thing sitting in their showroom. -
Sorry to hear about your luck. This industry completely sucks lately, for that very reason.

That Buckthorn pattern is very nice. I hadn't seen it before but it looks like it could be a real winner with the sort of foliage we've got around here.

Tungsten's CQBR build... MK18 Clone

I might have a PM for you a little later with some help on getting that stuff together and running. I'm literally headed out the door right now for the day... but I'll send you something this evening. -

Use Parallels to run it on your Mac. That's what I do. Also... I picked up not one but two lower receivers on Friday. One is being sent off for engraving on Monday. The other will likely stay as a non-NFA lower and be built into something a little different. More on that later. Right now the only major components that I lack are the upper receiver, the rail forearm and the EOTech optics. Everything else is sitting here waiting for the lovin to start. -
Sounds like politics. Or maybe he had an epiphany and realized that being pro-2A makes sense from an LEO perspective.
-
It's patterned after the HK SMG selector switch. The white "bullet" with the X through it is safe. The red single bullet is single fire. The red double bullet is burst or auto. Of course since these are all post-NFA builds, the third option is just there for eye candy.

Welcome! Joe says that while he's gone, you're the one giving foot rubs with every 5.11 purchase. Is that true?

I've come to learn that it is rather nice when your local CLEO is supportive of citizen gun rights. Smyrna PD is very fortunate to have a Chief of Police who is a 2A supporter and encourages citizens to take responsibility for their own safety and get their HCP. We see too many media accounts of LE agencies where the CLEO or other high ranking public officials are not supportive of this at all. Remember what happened to the gun owners in New Orleans? Wasn't it you that got dicked pretty hard by a non-friendly agency when the police happened to find a relative's gun in your truck? Could that situation have maybe gone a little better of the head honcho was a little more understanding? Yeah, I'm thinking it's nice to have a CLEO who is a gun guy. Even if he is just politicking. It makes it easier to talk apples to apples with them.

I've been running a car forum for about 8 years now... www.tennesspeed.net We don't do vendors over there right now because, well... that whole market is really hurting and no one wants to pony up to advertise. -

I'm loading the baby formula with Omega 3 fish oils because the kid's gonna need to get a scholarship the old fashioned way. -

I had sweat tea last night. But I have Dos Perros and Negra Modelo in the fridge so tonight may be different... -
That's a pretty machine. Be careful of the other people on the road! It's amazing how many times I see jerks in cars or trucks crowding cyclists during my daily commutes.

Welcome. Glad that you've found us and happier to hear that you'll be leaving the North for better parts of the country! ( I've got family in MD so I can say that. )

Hey buddy... the healthy drinks thread is thataway! -
Eh. Other than just barely qualifying as an SBR and letting him get his tax stamp out of the way, there's no real advantage to a 14.5" bbl over a 16" bbl. If he's going to SBR it, he might as well really SBR it.
-
I don't think a 20" bbl is really going to be necessary for a DMR, especially since you have the Remington for things that might require finesse. Maybe just go with a 16" heavy bbl and a decent optic like the Millett DMS-1 or a Trijicon Accupoint. Then you'd have a rifle that fit comfortably between CQB and longer ranges. Which is really what the DMR builds usually are all about anyway.

I'd give them a call and see what they can tell you. If they try to brush it off, just ask nicely if they wouldn't mind checking for you. Make something up. Tell them you live in a really bad neighborhood and don't feel safe walking the dog. From what I've heard, polite persistence seems to get permits cut and sent out. That's what I plan on having the wife do as we get closer to the 70-80 day mark.

Last night I had a bottle of Yazoo Porter. Tasty. I need to pick up some new pint glasses so that I can enjoy it a little more properly.
