  1. Or the weed that they cremated before and after this video was shot. In tightly rolled little "finger coffins".
  2. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I'm glad that's out of the way now, so maybe we can discuss the matter at hand.

  4. I doubt he has much faith of any sort either. He's a con artist, and not even a very good one at that. I am merely presenting this video and the link about lying being encouraged in Islam as food for thought and discussion. Like I said, I don't care if he flubbed or if it was a unintentional admission of association. The fact remains he said it and the fact remains that Islam allows Muslims to lie about their faith, so... which version of Obama is true? Frankly, I have no idea and that's what scares me about the people who naively think he's the best thing since JFK.
  5. Do you have anything to offer that he's not?
  6. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zQK_EhDhZQ][/ame][ame] [/ame]Also see... http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama/1150540,CST-NWS-faith08.article
  7. I don't care if he just flubbed or if it was a bona fide Freudian Slip... Obama recently admitted on camera that he is of Muslim faith. Now you may say that it's pretty narrow minded of me to say that I don't care if it was a mistake or not. Here's why I don't care: Islam allows, even encourages, lying and denying one's faith if it is beneficial to the cause. I had been told of this many times in the past by a friend who is originally from Nigeria where they have many rabid, extremist Muslims. He said that it was frequently a problem whereby a Muslim would pretend to convert to Christianity to gain access to a group of Christian believers and then turn on them, either exposing them to the militant Muslim groups or attacking and killing them himself. So, when Obama says he is not really a Muslim but a Christian... how truthful is he being? I'm not going to turn this into a Bible thumping pro-Christian thing, but I will say that one of Christianity's tenants (by comparison) is the instruction of Jesus when He said that He would deny anyone before the Father that denies Him before men.
  8. It's funny... I drove by a church in Smyrna that had this on it's message board out front: I made Chuck Norris. --Signed, God I laughed.
  9. I tend to err on the side of safety and just assume that people who tell me stories like this are full of **** and think that I'm gullible enough to believe them. Which then makes me mad because I take it as a personal affront. But Molon's probably right. The guy's instructor made a joke and this dipwad didn't understand. Either way, I suggest you beat him with a short length of garden hose the next time you see him.

    XD40sc vs. XD9sc

    9mm.
  11. Glocks are so yesterday.
  12. But I bet it's one of the stickiest Barrett rifles around.
  13. Regarding Geneva Convention and the .50 cal ... it's commonly understood that the Geneva Convention does not prohibit shooting at enemy equipment with that caliber. Equipment can be interpreted as a vehicle, another weapon, the helmet the guy is wearing, the magazines he's carrying in the molle vest he's wearing, his uniform, etc.
  14. A couple of big ones that would actually allow me to build a functioning rifle, but I'm going to try to pick them up between now and the end of October. Had to steer clear of a few things to be sure I was within the boundaries of the BATFE's definition of intent to manufacture w/o a tax stamp.
  15. Hang on while I whip this thing out... (with apologies to Blazing Saddles)
  16. Woa. You weren't even on my mind when I posted my gloves comment, so I hope you didn't take that as a stab at you. I've got a pair of Mechanix gloves that I'll probably use when I shoot our SBR. Not because it makes me more tacitcooler but just because I'm going to have my support hand even closer to the muzzle blast than I would with a 16-inch bbl. Plus it'll help me beat down any haji that might decide to put a jihad on me at the range.
  17. There's no telling how much slower his draw would have been if he had to pull a brick like that out of his holster.
  18. Did it ever go off by itself? How did you manage to keep from shooting yourself in the ass???
  19. Only if he's the catcher instead of the pitcher. I've never heard of a football f-ing a monkey, though. Always the other way around.
  20. And in other news... The Tennessee Department of Safety's department for handgun carry permits has unveiled their new departmental mascot: You heard it here first.
  21. Just as an update, my wife called about hers on Friday -- the day after she was told that they would issue it -- and was told rather impatiently that they had issued it on Thursday and it had gone out in the mail. So we'll see if it actually shows up or not. We're technically on Day #97 or so now.
  22. I just got off of the phone with the BATFE in West Virginia and they told me that my Form 1 status went Pending on September 3rd. She told me to call back in a few weeks if I hadn't already received my paperwork and that she would be happy to check again. As before, these folks were tremendously pleasant to deal with. I wish all government agencies were this helpful.
  23. I have Magpul ladder covers on my LaRue rail but will probably be ordering some Magpul XTR covers to use on at least the sides and bottom. The ladder covers really don't do much for your hands as the barrel and gas tube get hotter. Of course I'm also running a Tango Down stubby fore grip and will likely wear gloves when I shoot the SBR so heat shouldn't be that much of a problem for me... but your experience may vary. All the cool kids wear gloves when they shoot SBRs.
  24. As long as your engraver is able to achieve the mandated minimum depth of engraving into the material, you are fine. I have yet to find a trophy shop who said that they couldn't engrave an aluminum receiver. Many told me that they routinely engrave stainless and sterling steel odds and ends for customers with no problems. If their gear will handle those harder materials, they won't have problems with an aluminum AR-15 lower. That being said, I think Orion still has the nicest engravings and they certainly meet the minimum specs.
