Actually I just noticed an error in the way that one of the permissions was implemented. Despite the fact that your account should have been able to post an advertisement, it wasn't working that way. I think it's fixed now but I will need for you to try it and confirm. Sorry.
-
You're assuming that the rules have changed. They have not. Therefore there is nothing to grandfather in. I just checked and your account should be allowed to post. Are you using the new Classified section or are you trying to post in the old forums marked as Archives? There is a huge difference. Old Archive New System and the corresponding Forums Also, a rather prominent notice about all of this was posted in our Announcements forum. It really sounds to me like you're trying to use the old forums and that isn't going to work as has been explained in that announcement. If you are trying to use the new system and it's not letting you, then you need to copy and paste any error message you're getting so that we can figure it out. Please advise.

All I know for sure is that after he utterly and completely failed as a pre-runner, he established his Fred PAC to "help identify and support candidates on every level who support a platform of conservative, principles-based leadership and policies". He even sent me a nice form letter asking me to donate. Sorry, Fred. I donated the first time when you were dipping your toes into the water and decided it was too cold for a swim. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I will concede that the GOP is running a non-starter for a candidate. That doesn't mean I like it and it definitely doesn't make Barack Obama any less of a huge steaming pile of ****. But I don't for a minute believe that Obama should strike me as being a leader. A leader of WHAT? His background is as a Community Agitator. Sorry, Organizer. In one of ... if not THE ... most corrupt city governments in our wonderful country. He has less time on the job in the US Senate than the average McDonalds manager has on the job. His credentials consist of looking smooth, talking smooth and doing as he's told by the people financing his campaign and writing his speaches. In short, he's a stuffed suit and is the last person our country needs at the wheel during these next crucial four years. McCain? Not much better. It sucks beyond belief that he is who the GOP decided to put on the stage as their man for the hour. People have sworn for years that politics is rigged, just like WWF wrestling. I'm starting to believe them. Somewhere, someone told McCain "You're going to go out into that ring and you're going to throw the fight. Don't worry, you don't have to do anything special. Just be yourself. That's all it is going to take." Why Fred Thompson dropped out is still beyond me. My gut tells me he was paid off, blackmailed or threatened away. There's no other logical explanation. He was supposedly going to be the second coming of Ronald W. Reagan and what we got was a belly-flop off the diving board. Way to go, Fred! So where that leaves me right now is pretty f'ing irritated. Obama will end up winning this one barring divine intervention, and the country gets to bend over, grab both ankles and take it right up the O-Hole for the next four. I wasn't kidding when I said I'd be flying my flag upside down until 2012. I really hope that the voting public is capable of putting 2+2 together and seeing that the Democrat controlled Congress has been utterly worthless and ineffective. This country's only hope of survival under an Obama Administration is if the GOP takes back both the House and Senate, building a firewall between the Legislative and Executive branches. The only Hope for Change will be Obama wishing to God that Congress would just throw him a bone.

Frankly I think McCain was just pandering for votes when he said that. Which I find pretty reprehensible and desperate. His advisers were all probably sitting in the audience with their faces in their hands asking, "He just said what ???". If someone took out a loan on something that they couldn't afford, then two people are at fault and should take the hit: Them and their lender. It's not the government's job to be their nanny and it's not my taxes job to bail them out.

This talk of donuts is killing me. Maybe if I take the dog out for a mile or two walk the next few nights, I can earn a few donuts on Saturday.
-
Donuts don't go well with my effort to drop weight. I figure for every donut I eat, I'd need to do an additional 100 crunches the next morning. I already hate the 100 that I do now, so I sure as heck am not going to add to it just because of sugary, frosty, glazed goodness... Sorry, lost my train of thought there. Just say no!

Wrong forum for buyer / seller feedback. Sorry.

I've all but resigned myself to the Obamassiah being elected Supreme Grand Chancellor by the fanatical fruits that worship his very image. The media elite appointed him last year and reality is finally catching up to that and will finalize the deal in November. It pisses me off to no end, but the GOP has only itself to blame at this point. Frankly I'll feel at least somewhat vindicated if Tennessee still falls to McCain. At least that way I can look all of the pious, smug, pro Obama a-holes here at work in the eye and gleefully remind them that no matter what, their vote didn't matter. I'll also be flying the flag upside down for the next four years.

I have quite a few C-Products mags with the Magpul followers and have never had a problem out of them. That being said, if they are asking more than $14 a piece on them, I'd probably be more inclined to spend my money on Magpul PMAGs instead.

I just had a few handfuls of Special K cereal for a snack. You suck.

Get used to saying "President Obama" folks. The media elite elected him months ago.

I am pleased to announce that sometime this week we will unveil a complete replacement for our Trading Post forums. This new system will offer many advantages over the current use of forums and sub-forums, including: Easy picture attachments to each classified ad The ability to set up auctions just like Gunbroker or eBay A feedback system just like Gunbroker or eBay The ability to "bump" ads once a week The ability to accept offers within ads Inline comments system for each ad Seamlessly integrated with the rest of the forum's layout And much more! Once the new system is released to TGO's members, we will close most of the current Trading Post forums and keep them around for the next 30 days as an archive of sorts. Our members will be encouraged to post their existing, current ads in the new system to take advantage of the new features. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in this thread. I hope to have the new and improved Trading Post available within the next two days.

Holy crap... I just choked on my drink.

I think a drop-shadow on the text would fix that perspective problem.

Any interest in TGO patches for range bags, gear, etc?

Joe has a PM about this. We'll see what we can work out. -
Apparently my suspicions were correct as there is some discussion in this thread on M4C regarding the possibility of a gas piston upper for 5.45mm
-
Yes but reportedly some brands of mags work better than others. The S&W guns are shipping with C-Products mags from what I understand. I believe that the bolt carrier is different with the 5.45 upper. A gas piston conversion includes a new bolt carrier since it is no longer a direct impingement system. Therefore I am lead to believe that you would need a gas piston conversion designed strictly for the 5.45mm round, or at least the carrier designed for it. Whether it is worth it or not depends on what your priorities and requirements are. For cheap shooting the closely approximates the "feel" of shooting 5.56 this is the hot thing going right now. But it's not the same as shooting a 5.56 round. If I were you, I'd check over on www.m4carbine.net and read some of the threads about the 5.45 conversions. There are several and all easily found by searching. Definitely search first before asking something that may have already been addressed. They tend to favor people who follow the old saw that God helps those who help themselves.

That's a really nice design!
