  1. Hickory Hollow is swiftly becoming one of the few places where I would prefer to open carry. And by that I mean my SBR slung across my chest and my 1911 clearly visible on my hip. It was. My parents used to bring us down to Nashville in the 80's for shopping trips. We'd visit Hickory Hollow and then Rivergate. Neither place left me feeling unsafe back then. When I moved to Nashville in 1997, I made the mistake most people make. I moved to Antioch and lived in an apartment. My lease couldn't have been up fast enough. Our building was OK but that's because we had two Metro PD officers who lived in it and who parked their cruisers outside. All of the other buildings around us had "issues". The area has gone to complete and utter crap since then and I only go there now during daylight hours and refuse to go anywhere near it during the Christmas holidays. But... but... these are just hard working people trying to make it in this world!
  2. Curve 8330 on Verizon here. Flawless. Absolutely flawless.
  3. My two pumpkins for this year... #1) Chomp Chomp #2) Zombie Pumpkin I want to put a small plate with some dry ice inside the first one so that it bellows smoke from it's mouth. We'll see how that works out. The second one is my first attempt ever at "sculpting" a pumpkin and I used the face from one of the Zombie Targets for the template. I may need to shave some more of the pumpkin's meat out of the face to let more light through. I'll wait until Halloween before I do that though. I will try to take some better pictures tonight with my DSLR. These were hand-held shots using my wife's point and shoot.
  4. I am going to extend the deadline for submissions to Midnight tonight (10/29/08) so that those who forgot to include a night-time shot can submit one. This also gives a few of you who were thinking that the deadline was midnight tonight a chance to get your pumpkin squared away and submitted. Thanks.
  5. Guys, I am removing all of the off-topic remarks from this thread. Thread-drift is unnecessary in topical threads of this nature and serve only to erode the value of the thread itself. Please keep that in mind going forward. Thanks.
  6. I'll PayPal you the $20 for the grips. By the time she gets around to being able to carry it, the nursing home won't allow her to have it.
  7. http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=33 I've had good luck running my American Defense Manufacturing mount on my Aimpoint Comp ML3 and the return to zero has been within 1-click the times that I have removed it. Unfortunately they don't offer a mount for the EOTech but LaRue does (see above). Unfortunately it may be a bit of an issue getting a budget concious department to buy and distribute them to anyone with an AR15 in their cruiser.
  8. Thanks for sharing this. That's pretty much the same way my grandfather showed me to lube the 1911 and it's worked for me for about 10 years now and for him for God knows how long before that.
  9. Aside from the TGO contest that we're running, everyone else might want to show off their Halloween decorations, pumpkins, costumes, traps for catching pranksters, etc. Feel free to use this thread to do it.
  10. That's a nice paint job but unfortunately it doesn't fit into the guidelines for participating in the contest. Maybe start another thread to just show off everyone's pumpkins, even those not in the contest.
  11. That guy needs a few broken ribs. And by a few broken ribs I mean pretty much all of them, from being thrown through some walls.
  12. Raven usually makes good stuff, but this thing... this thing is stupid.
  13. Many thanks!
  14. Can anyone give me a source for the cartoon, sans our watermark? I want to send it around at work tomorrow but don't want any of them linking back here.
  15. What if they don't like the beer you ordered?
  16. Aren't you supposed to throw those after you pull the pin?
  17. Joe's full auto SBR AR15 with suppressor. It was painful having to give it back.
  18. Guys... let's leave that talk to the Ready Room. It's happening way too much in the normal areas of the forum.
  19. I was just making a joke, but I easily identify with the curmudgeon way of life.
  20. I'm not sure if I would prefer to be given the pill or suffer the implication of being a "sucker".
  21. Keep the pill. The Announcements forum is so often overlooked it's not even funny. I am just as frustrated with some of the bugs with the Classified software as you are, but it becomes tedious having to address them time after time. Especially when there are several threads already about this on Page 1 right here in the support forum.
  22. Do people not read the Announcements forum anymore? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12781
  23. http://www.slate.com/id/1007689/
  24. Good grief... the silly admin log shows that my account deleted them. I'm not sure what the heck is going on.
  25. The classifieds system has been acting oddly.
