  1. Your cooperation is appreciated. Get me a beer while you're in the kitchen, sweet cheeks.
  2. These are two shops that I know carry the S&W AR15 rifles. I have used both and would recommend either to anyone, without hesitation. Some of our other local authorized vendors may also stock them and should chime in if they do. (organized by distance) Guns & Leather Greenbrier, TN 41.9 miles from Franklin Hero Gear Winchester, TN 101 miles from Franklin
  3. I hope to be able to attend.
  4. Congratulations and welcome to TGO. Enjoy your new sidearm and the forum!
  5. The original poster has been permanently banned for trolling and this thread is done. If there is a God in heaven, the OP will wake up tomorrow in a mountainous region of Afghanistan and have to fight for his very life against people who would deprive him of not only his right to vote but his right to live. Barring a life changing experience like that, I am convinced that nothing he could possibly add to TGO in the future would be of any value. He won't be missed.
  6. Unless you have your heart set on a Bushmaster, I'd look at the S&W line of AR15's instead. Their build quality and quality control seem to be consistently better than the stuff Bushmaster cranks out.
  7. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=181363&postcount=15 Please read that, and then the original post again. As for a recommendation, I understand that the S&W AR15's are pretty good out of the box. If I had to buy a pre-built AR right now, I'd look at those first.
  8. I can only speak on the EMP from having shot Towerclimber's at a recent get together. The EMP is a damn fine weapon.
  9. I heard he's going to pardon Phil Fulmer.
  10. Spurrier has too cushy of a gig to leave it, and I doubt he would even if the Vols coughed up enough cash. What I want to know is... who will the Vols fans blame next year with Fulmer gone?
  11. Don't forget the Black Panthers... http://www.jacksonsun.com/article/20081102/NEWS01/811020310
  12. Please reference the post in question. I wasn't the originator of that post, I merely copied it here for everyone's information. The two Bushmaster rifles that I owned in the past were both very reliable, but I didn't know enough about the rifles then to check things like carrier key staking.
  13. Those of you who won, be sure to PM Joe (Hero Gear) and let him know. Thanks.
  14. http://www.nraila.org/News/Read/InTheNews.aspx?ID=11769 [ame] [/ame]Of course, I'm sure this is taken completely out of context.

    My new AR

Ya know... I like it. Very traditional.
  16. My wife doesn't get on here much as we're expecting a newborn in January, so between getting ready for that and working full-time during the day, she stays pretty busy. When she carries, she carries a Smith & Wesson Model No. 642, stainless J-frame revolver in .38 Special. Small enough to conceal, potent enough to use for self defense.
  17. Welcome. Make yourself at home, but be sure to keep hands and feet inside the car at all times.
  18. What the hell... did TGO become a personal's site over the weekend? Less talk about the female noncombatants and more talk about the firearms!
  19. Yes and you'll also note that the General Off-Topic area is not subject to the same enforcement. That thread was dealing with the topical areas of the forum in particular. You'll also notice that the word Moderator does not appear beneath your name. Thanks. I'm curious about a lot of things. None of which are any of my business. If a person chooses to remain silent on an issue, it may be that they feel it's likewise none of anyone else's business.Often, when you start talking about a person's livelihood being snuffed out by some ridiculous new edict, that person often doesn't feel compelled to be chatty and conversational about it. It's pretty easy to see why, don't you think? I'll add that I haven't spoken to any of our vendors about this issue. I would guess that a few of them make more off of sales to law enforcement agencies than they do to civilians, so a blanket ban on firearms would likely just result in a shift of their focus. Smaller gun shops would end up forced out of business. Such a cheery subject. TWO MORE DAYS LEFT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
  20. Just a glimpse at the Almighty.
  21. Good for you. Now follow through and get more people motivated to vote against Obama so that we don't have to worry about what if situations. And like him or not, the only effective means of voting against Obama is voting for McCain. We're not out until it's over. We haven't lost until the last poll closes. We can entertain ourselves with this type of thread for the next four years if we lose... but we haven't lost yet.
  22. A while back you seemed to be pretty undecided about who you were going to vote for. You were opposed to McCain for personal reasons, but wanted to essentially throw your vote away for voting for Mickey Mouse or Ron Paul or Pope John Paul or whoever. Basically you were set on voting for a candidate who might have scratched your Third Party Itch but wouldn't have been effective at keeping Obama out of office. Now you seem to be resigned to the idea that Obama is going to take the election this year and then he's coming after our guns. So, rather than ask what people are going to do after Obama is elected, why not do something a little more constructive and motivate people to vote against the son of a bitch so that we don't have to worry with these silly doomsday scenarios? Just saying. You've got two days to make a difference. Crawl out of the constitutional grave you've dug and knock off the dirt. We're not dead yet.
  23. That's kind of like asking what the weather is going to be like at noon on January 21st. Who knows??? Frankly I don't think that the rifles will be worth that much more than they are right now. The reason I think that is because people are more savvy to what the government can and might do this time around. The last AWB sort of caught folks off guard and gun enthusiasts / patriots / whatever you want to call them didn't realize how much they'd want those rifles afterward. This time, people are smarter. More or less. We're already seeing people hoard magazines, lowers, uppers, downers, siders, flippers, floppers, etc. It's going to take a while before a post-ban buying wave turns into a seller's market. Just my $0.02 worth. If you're buying to sell, you may be sitting on your stuff for a while.
