  1. They replaced your hand?
  2. You're doing it wrong.
  3. I've shot way more than that on countless occasions through my Remington .30-06 and have had no adverse effects. The manufacturer built them to be shot, not to be set aside and admired.
  4. Way more than the average person is likely to shoot their gun in a lifetime.
  5. I'm convinced that the Glock 26 and 27 were built for cartoon characters with three fat fingers and a thumb. They are possibly the only people who could ever find those particular Glocks comfortable to shoot as they certainly weren't designed to be "ultra concealable". Fat grip... CHECK! Short grip... CHECK! Fat slide... CHECK! I owned a 27 for a while. I couldn't place my finger (no pun intended) on why I didn't like it when I owned it, but it dawned on me subsequent to buying a Glock 23 and then later a Glock 19. The 26/27 just suck from an ergonomics standpoint.

This really belongs in the trading post.
  7. I think it'd be a very logical choice for a BUG. Charter hasn't always had the best record for initial build quality but I'd still give it a fair shake before writing it off.
  8. You might try a search. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14025&highlight=ammunition+accountability http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4286&highlight=ammunition+accountability
  9. Funny you should mention this. I just received a book that I had ordered about this very topic. It's called The Liberal Mind.
  10. And we just upgraded to HD TV and bought a 62" widescreen for this occasion...
  11. I realize the thread is tongue in cheek, but we might as well ask if water is really wet.
  12. Yeah, I made that change a few minutes ago. If people enter BS information into that field, I'll just delete their account and they can try over and do it right the next time. My patience with people who want to be immature and put things like "Buttholeville, TN" in their location is absolutely non-existent.
  13. Well, it would be much nicer if everyone filled out their location. The only scenario I can come up with for needing an "item location" field would be if someone was selling something that they didn't have AT their location. Which seems kind of silly.
  14. I can add an optional field for "Item location" if that makes any sense.
  15. Upon further review, it seems that the location field is showing properly. It is contingent upon the member having their location specified in their vbulletin member profile, however. So if a member doesn't have a location specified, the listing won't either.
  16. The software was just upgraded. Give me some time to get the customizations added back in.
  17. That would be the most logical place.
  18. No rule against it.
  19. The last time I asked about it, Guns & Leather said that they would do lay-away and I think Hero Gear does as well. I'd defer to representatives of each shop for clarification on that.
  20. Maybe we'll just do away with buying and selling here all together. The point of this forum was never to be a swap-market. If you want that, there are better venues for it. The forum was established to discuss gun ownership issues; buying and selling between members is ancillary to the purpose of us being here. The bugs that exist within the current trading post system were being worked on by the author of the software. I have not checked on the status of it for about a week and a half. In case you hadn't noticed, I've been busy with a family emergency. We won't be changing away from the current trading post system unless it is to do away with it entirely. Suck it up and deal with the minor inconveniences while we try to resolve the problems. If you don't like that, there's always www.golsn.com
  21. Thanks again, all. We had a nice family get-together for Thanksgiving today and my wife and I were reminded of how much we do have to be thankful for. So many parents who lose a child mid-pregnancy like this never even get to see their child, let alone have a few hours with them as we did ours. While it may not compare to seeing him grow from infancy to adulthood, it was at least a few hours that we will jealously guard in our hearts for the remainder of our lives.
  22. As some of you were aware, my wife and I were expecting a son due in January. We had to rush to the hospital around 2am Sunday as she was having premature contractions. After a few tests were done, an emergency cesarean section was performed very early Sunday. Our son, Landon, was born at 33 weeks; about 6.5 weeks early. The medical staff was able to stabilize him, see enough of a "fight" from him to warrant transferring him to the Vanderbilt NICU, and did so shortly after lunch Sunday. We received a call around 3pm that his condition was fading fast and that I needed to get there as quickly as I could. Not sure how I made the 30 mile drive in under 15 minutes but either every cop in Nashville was on break or God cleared a path for me. I was able to hold him during his last moments here on Earth. Landon passed away from an overwhelming number of medical complications at around 4:20pm Sunday, in my arms at Vanderbilt. At this time I am asking that everyone please refrain from sending PMs. It's just a little overwhelming and almost impossible for me to reply to each and every one and I feel absolutely obligated to do that. Instead, if you want to post in this thread I will reply as I can. That way anything said more or less carbon-copies to everyone. Eddie (Molonlabetn) will be handling most of the general admin duties in my absence and the rest of the Moderators will be taking care of business as always. I am indebted to all of them to this end. Thanks. --David
