Well. I've been sitting down in my office chair off and on pretty much all morning and the holster is staying right where it should.

I'm not sure if Kydex is rated to handle "Scrumptious". Man, sorry... I almost held it together but there went breakfast.

$29.95 + S&H I was a little worried that I'm a little too hot personally to carry it, but apparently the melting point of Kydex is somewhere above "smokin".

Thanks. I've got a guy that has a screen printing shop about 2 blocks from my place, so I'll just stick with using him unless there's something he can't do. The shirt design I've come up with is a little elaborate so I'm actually getting ready to go visit him in just a moment to see what he can do.

For some reason, I just had a mental image of a larger person doing a keg stand on a Reeses cup. That might be a wrong way to eat one. Ok, back on topic: I'm thinking that the colors I'll offer when we do this will be good ole black, olive green and maybe a tan / khaki / flat-dark earth color. We'll probably start off with black and the khaki color and go from there.

I ordered this holster for strong-side carry because I anticipate using it for those times when carrying something larger is impractical or impossible. Now that I've seen how well it works, I am likely going to order a second for left-hand carry so that I can use the J-frame as a backup gun on my weak side.

But you are making the assumption that anyone who drinks is doing so in excess. I'll enjoy a shot of Single Barrel every now and again, but I won't drink it to the point that I'm impaired let alone drunk. Just don't like the feel. A person who drinks occasionally is doing about as much harm to himself as a person who smokes occasionally, I suppose. Perhaps less but I'm not an expert on that so I'm not going to split hairs. We'll call it even for the sake of this discussion. The problem is, I don't know too many people who just smoke cigarettes or dip tobacco occasionally. I do know some folks who will smoke a cigar every once in a while, but don't seem to be in the habit of it. For some reason, cigarette smokers almost always have one hanging from their lips or are stepping outside every 45 minutes or so for another. To me, that's the sign of an addiction. Go ahead and tax the hell out of Jack Daniels. I won't be affected too badly since I go through a fifth of it maybe once a year... once every six months if I've been really frisky. If I were always walking around with a glass of Scotch on the rocks, however, I'd be just as upset as you are right now.

Cancer, emphysema and other fatal ailments couldn't care less what a person's net worth is. It takes a pretty huge leap to somehow compare a recreational drug (tobacco) to motor conveyances. People can drown in a bathtub also; should we become French and stop taking baths? Any chemical substance that can affect mood changes to that degree can't be a good thing to pump into your body can it?

Today I received my new "inside the pocket" carry rig for my J-Frame revolver. I ordered it from Alan over at www.aholsters.com about a week ago, so turnaround on the order was excellent. Here are some photos and a brief review follows at the end. What do we have here? Oooo... Here is the side that sits against your leg inside your front pocket. And here is the side that presses against the outside of your pocket and "prints" for the rest of the world to see. Again, the inner side of the holster but this time with my S&W 642 J-frame revolver inside. And the outer side of it with the revolver in place. So how much does it print inside your pants pocket? You tell me... The Review First let me give credit where it is due and state that I learned of the AHolster Pocket holster from Todd @ CIS during a defensive pistol class. Todd recommends carrying a backup gun if at all possible and said that he too prefers the little J-Frame revolver. He mentioned that he owned an AHolster Pocket holster and found that it was extremely discrete and also allowed for very easy drawing. I put it off for almost a year, but I finally got around to ordering one and am now kicking myself for waiting. This little holster remedies a lot of the problems I had with carrying my own J-frame revolver inside the pocket. I had been using a DeSantis Nemesis soft holster but rarely carried the J-frame because the Nemesis just was too soft, allowed the firearm to print too noticeably, and didn't have enough structural rigidity to make drawing from my pocket even remotely quick enough for what I felt was an adequate response time. The AHolster, being made of rigid but thin Kydex thermoplastic, does not print in my pocket in such a way that it is obvious that I have a handgun there. Rather the soft curvature of the holster's outer face presents an outline in my pocket more akin to a wallet or a phone or a PDA. Also because of the AHolster's rigidity and two "hooks" built into the design, it offers far superior retention of the holster as you draw the firearm. With the Nemesis soft holster, I would often find myself producing not only the firearm but the holster also when I drew. The AHolster's design keeps the holster firmly situated in my pocket and allows the firearm to quickly and smoothly exit my pocket without interference. I've admittedly not been much of a pocket-gun guy before now. The soft holster that I had been using just made it a little too awkward, so I relied on carrying one of my other handguns inside the waistband. That presents a totally different set of problems, especially when professional attire (eg: tucked-in shirts) is required. Now with the AHolster Pocket, I feel a lot better about carrying inside the pocket and will probably even opt to leave the larger handguns behind if I am going to be in certain settings, as wardrobe dictates. I wouldn't have done that before. Bottom Line: Highly Recommended Edited to ad... Price for the holster was $29.95 + S&H at the time of this writing.

Sorry, I guess my sarcasm didn't show through in that first paragraph. But I was being serious when I said that I am surprised that people still take up smoking given how much evidence there is that it will really mess you up.

The government has to pay for all of the medical coverage it's going to start paying out on the people who have willingly been putting themselves at risk by using tobacco products. There are so many different illnesses that can be tied back to tobacco. I find it amazing that people still pick up the habit given the health implications of doing so.

Thanks for the participation so far. I'm not even to the point of doing a design or picking colors yet, but I've got a really kick-ass concept in mind and it would probably not have pockets.

I've gotten to know the owner of a local screen printing shop just down the road from me and I'm thinking about maybe doing some TGO t-shirts later this Spring since warmer weather is hopefully around the corner. He asked what sizes I'd be needing and I really couldn't give him a good answer. It doesn't matter if you would actually want a shirt or not, but if you would please vote on the anonymous poll and indicate what size you wear, it would help me get a decent idea of the TGO demographic. Which would in turn help us develop a plan for actually doing some shirts when the time comes. Thanks!

Is there a particular reason you wish to have a gunsmith install these items rather than just doing it yourself?

Glad to have you here, Sid. You have to be careful with those Glock 19s as they tend to multiply after a while. Sometimes another 19, sometimes another model in a different caliber entirely.
