  1. Good deal. Let us know how it works out for her!
  2. Welcome, Steve. Glad you decided to sign up.
  3. Believe it or not... the promotional products company I'm using can do those. I'll be happy to check into it.
  4. Cool. If needed, I can put together one of my Blade-Tech holsters with the DOH attachment and post some better pics for you. It really does make a huge difference in the "carryability" for female shooters. My wife used my DOH holster and Springfield XD Tactical to pass her HCP qualifcation.
  5. Let me know when you get them. I just ordered an MGW rear sight installation tool for my Glocks. We can have your sights installed in a flash.
  6. Farman, Check into the Blade-Tech holsters using their "DOH" (dropped-offset holster) attachment. The DOH attachment cants the holster outward slightly and lowers it about 2-inches from the belt. I ran one of these for USPSA gaming myself, but when my wife tried it, the outward cant combined with the female form actually made the butt of the handgun perpendicular to the ground. www.blade-tech.com
  7. A few days ago I noticed that Comp-Tac [link] had added a new inside the waistband holster for small frame automatics and revolvers, meant for appendix carry. I mentioned it to my wife and she agreed to give it a try for her Smith & Wesson #442 J-frame revolver. We both knew from past experiments that appendix carry works best for her and probably would for a lot of women. The natural curvature of a woman's hips and waist don't lend well toward carrying a conventional IWB (inside the waistband) holster on the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock positions. Most women end up shoving the holster back around to the 5 and 7 o'clock positions or just giving up on IWB carry entirely because of this. With a small frame revolver or automatic, carrying at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions in front of the hip bone allows the female gun owner to conceal the firearm and wear it comfortably. My wife has been wearing it closer to the 1 o'clock position to ensure that the revolver's grip doesn't stick out past her waist when she sits. So far she's worn it for a few days while out and about with me and doing normal things around the house, and says it's very comfortable. Comfortable to the point that she says she doesn't even notice it anymore. As for me, when I can say that about a firearm/holster combination, I know I've found a winner. I'm glad to hear her finally be able to say it too. Concealment is very good. She's worn it with casual pants, jeans, t-shirt, sweat-shirt and also with a light jacket. For reference purposes in the photos below, she is about 5'10" tall and slim-to-average build. I'm using "guy terms" because frankly I don't want to get my ass shot off for divulging sensitive girl-stuff like weight or whatever. I suck at ducking and running and she's a pretty good shot. Probably even better when she's highly motivated (read: mad). The cost of the holster was $60.00 + S&H direct from Comp-Tac and production time took about two weeks at the time of our order. 8. Welcome back.
  9. It's frightening how close our answers to those were too.
  10. Glock or XD... XD or M&P... Striker fired or hammer fired... Plastic or metal... Chevy or Ford... Dr Pepper or Mr Pibb... Coke or Pepsi... Nike or Reebok... Foreign or Domestic... Catholic or Protestant... Baptist or Methodist... You get the point I hope.
  11. For what it's worth, I've wondered about his age and have noticed the stories as well.
  12. Regarding the second question asked by the original poster, about using your firearm as a deterrent... Conventional wisdom is that your handgun should remain holstered until you're ready to pull the trigger. Brandishing a firearm can be a punishable offense, plus it can take a mildly heated situation and cause it to escalate into a potential manslaughter case. Firearms aren't deterrents. They are a final line of defense.
  13. But the good news is, you won't have to mess with that again until you change your mind about something or have to add a new usergroup or notice that someone has access to something they shouldn't or...
  14. That is seriously disturbing.
  15. Just as an aside... Hero Gear remains a great option if you're in the neighborhood and need a TGO hat or shirt, but I'm going to set up a shopping cart system here pretty soon and will have hats and shirts for sale online also.
  16. I'm going to offer a complimentary 1 year Benefactor membership as the 1st place prize and a 6-month Benefactor membership as the 2nd place prize on this. Winners will be chosen by popular vote.
  17. All answers in due time folks. Colors are pretty much what Nightrunner just mentioned, and I suppose hoodies could be done later if there was enough interest. I'm very glad to see folks are interested even though the design hasn't been unveiled yet. You guys aren't going to be upset when it involves kittens and flowers are you? I anticipate unveiling it this upcoming week, however. I just need to have one more meeting with my screenprinter and make sure we're both on the same page and then I'll get it posted up. Stay tuned!
  18. Unless you're living miles away (as in miiiiiiiiiiiles away) from a populated area, none of this is going to matter much if the SHTF. People will find you and they will seek to either ally themselves with you or they will seek to plunder. The only way you're really going to mitigate those risks is to be somewhere far removed from people. Really far removed. And let's not even get started on how insignificant most of these preparations would be in the face of determined military forces. An armed resistance from a few civilians wouldn't last very long at all. Just saying.
  19. Oh, so you've done plenty of Peek and Poke commands just to get a game published in a magazine huh? Been there. Done that. What a PITA!!!
  20. Haha... nice to meet you as well. I need to start wearing my hat more often for this very reason. It's fun bumping into people like that.
  21. Pretty frequently, but not near as much as I should.
  22. Windsuits. We're getting matching windsuits.
