Seems to be a lot faster today.

I don't think you could have insinuated that his wife might be flirting for cash any more clearly unless you had just come right out and said it. I can think of several vocations where a woman might not be inclined to wear her wedding rings for far less shady purposes. Nurses, for example, often choose not to wear them (or at least their engagement rings) since they deal with human yuckiness all day and are constantly donning and removing surgical gloves. Chefs, bakers, etc. won't wear them for sanitary reasons. An artist might not just to keep them clean.

Randy needs to move out of Communist Illinois and to a state where gun owners are allowed to ... well ... own guns. -
For those of you looking for both a challenge AND a way to maximize your investment of ammo expended at the range, please consider trying the following sometime. PS: It's not as easy as it looks! Source: pistol-training.com

Sorry for the interruptions this evening. I've been trying a few adjustments to see if any of them make an appreciable difference in speed. I'm done for now and am just going to monitor the progress of things.

I don't recall ever even enabling that feature since I absolutely hate it. But if you'd like it added (or added back if that is the case) I don't mind doing so.

I understand that. You guys may have to keep that in mind if I ever have to shut TGO down because of the same hard times that I'm facing. Every little bit helps. Just to be clear, the cost of a Premium Membership is less than some folks pay for a night out on the town (meal + movie) and less than two boxes of ammunition. If you're unable to do those things, then I understand where you're coming from. Someone pointed out at the top of this thread that the site used to be faster when I hosted it on a server at my place of employment. Well, the reason it used to be faster is because they laid me off at the first part of this year. So yeah, I know what hard times look like.

We are aware of the problem. Not to be rude, but every Premium Membership helps us continue to make improvements. You might want to consider buying one.

Sounds like the OP is satisfied that his question has been answered, so I am closing this thread to prevent further derailment. As I do so, let me remind everyone here that as long as you have a valid HCP and as long as you aren't carrying in one of the State or Federally defined forbidden areas... there's no reason to feel like you're doing something wrong by carrying your firearm. Stay safe!

I had to wear mine every day for about 3 years, with or without a holster, dressed up, dressed down, working in the office or working in the yard, for it ever begin to flake off. It has held up tremendously well given the abuse I've shown it.

Agree with the good reverend here. $500 for that would amount to a tremendous deal. I'd expect more in line with $600-650 easily.

Sweet. I've often wished my pump-action .30-06 was a bolt-action instead.

Attention LEO's... What ammo are you guys carrying?
TGO David replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Aw come on man... you're a TGO'er and an Officer. It's your sworn TGO duty to not be "that cop" that never shoots much and doesn't know what he carries. It's in the bylaws. -
@gearyr - I doubt they will be offended but those prices are better than what I've seen from most online "deep discount" vendors, plus they actually have it in stock. Good luck with your quest for finding it cheaper and more readily available.

Great gun. If you're trading off a Lorcin, absolutely. If you're trading off a Wilson Combat, absolutely not.

I've got the same man-bag. I don't use it much during the colder months but it gets more frequent play during the summer when I'm carrying my camera around hiking and such.

Mick, Randy needs to become a vendor in order to advertise a commercial exercise like this. We have a training organization (Critical Incident Strategies) that has invested financially into the TGO community and we have to protect our Vendors. If Randy does the same, he would receive the same assurance that his investment into TGO would also be protected. I'd be more than happy to discuss this with Randy. In the meantime, the advertisement has to go. If the class were free, there wouldn't be a conflict of interest but clearly someone is making money from the venture. Thanks.

So far today, we've had good results with our server. I have inquired about any changes that were made but I suspect that when I rebooted this morning, either changes that I had made previous and were stuck pending went through, or they made some changes that they haven't told me about yet. Our load average right now looks like this: 0.73 0.58 : 0.55 It's been below 1.00 all morning long, too. Seems kind of ironic that we've had spikes up to 30.xx throughout the week and now suddenly we're seeing good performance.

Forum Problems (April 10, 2009) ... This SUCKS!

Update... I've thrown the gauntlet down with our web hosting provider. If they can't get the server fixed, we're moving elsewhere. More on this as events warrant but I've had enough of this as I'm sure you all have as well. -

Nope. Apples and oranges. -
Pretty disappointed that she got out without the jaws of life or a battering ram. [joke about my wife removed by threat of death or bodily injury]

Please tell me a breaching team rescued her. (goes to watch video with fingers crossed)

The reason I ask is that I've got a Glock sight tool and wouldn't mind putting them in for you. But I'm on the opposite side of Nashville from you so a trip to G&L would be a better choice I'm sure.

Forum Problems (April 10, 2009) ... This SUCKS!
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
I think the last time it happened was a few months back. Possibly before we even had to move to the new server. Backups aren't time consuming but they do require that the forum is shut down while they occur and they do eat up some space on our server until I offload them. If I were to do it more than once a day, I'm afraid people might complain about the downtime. I'm looking into some other options right now as well. One of our members suggested hosting with Amazon's Elastic Computing 2 (EC2) service and I've got to do some investigating there. It would mean an almost infinite jump in available storage capacity and bandwidth, but there are other concerns that I need to become comfortable with before making any moves. Right now we have what the highest tier of virtual server hosting with our current provider. I'm not entirely convinced that we are exceeding the limits of that system, but there is clearly a problem that I've not been able to pinpoint the cause of. Still working on it!
