I think the problem that you guys are encountering is the tightened security. When a high number of connections open to our server from an IP address, the server ignores that IP address for a certain amount of time. About 10 minutes. You guys having problems may be using ISPs with proxy servers, which open more connections to TGO at once than they really need... or are opening multiple connections to us on behalf of multiple users. I'll lighten the restriction some to see if it helps.

We run backups during the night. That generally slows it down a bit. AFAIK there were no DDOS issues last night.

I've used Paypal since it started. I use it as a method of payment on three forums and have had hundreds of transactions through it. I've even used them to resolve a few disputes for goods on eBay that never arrived or arrived in horrible shape. No problems with them at all. BUT, if you want to mail a money order for Benefactor status, you can. TGO PO Box 2664 Smyrna, TN 37167

Middle TN Meet & Shoot *** MAY 16th 2009 ***

To the best of my knowledge, yes. Or at least you could when OHGC ran the place. The limitation was that it had to be on the rifle lanes of course. -

I've got a few of them left. I'll be sure to bring them. -

Lloyd was clearly in the right place at the right time with the black one he just scooped up. I'm going to see how business goes for the next year or so and then maybe try to find one that I can pay cash for. I'm done with car loans. -

Those guys are thankfully far removed from the facility now. -
No worries. I need to re-tool the Newsworthy Reports forum since it's sort of overlapped by a few other forums here. My original intent was for it to become sort of an Armed Citizen type of thing with news about folks defending themselves. I think I missed the mark.

Nice. I'm sure that being the car salesman that you are, you knew what to look for but 03/04 Cobras in decent shape are getting harder to find. Being that you pulled the SCT chip out of that one, I'd be inclined to let a mechanic with intimate knowledge of those cars go over it to make sure it's not been ridden hard. I have passed on the opportunity to buy three in the past year because all of them showed significant signs of neglect. My last car was one that I had owned previously, and sold again because the guy who owned it between me and me (again) beat the hell out of it. Car just wasn't the same anymore. I dig the white and dark windows. Looks really good. What are the mods? -
Folks, the Newsworthy Reports forum isn't the place for this. I'm moving it to the General Off-Topic forum. Thanks.

While I'm sure that JWP knew he was opening a can of worms when he started this thread and called out another retailer for a safety issue, things seem to be getting a bit heated here among a few folks and what SUNTZU said pretty much sums up why this thread needs to come to an end. Sorry guys.

By lead retrieval system, it sounds as though this is an active process that reclaims the lead without a lot of manual labor. How frequently are you having to sift through the media and reclaim the lead now? And are you doing that yourselves or do you have to get an environmental group to come in and do it? I've always been curious how this stuff works.

Welcome to TGO. Make yourself at home.

One of my requirements for a carry gun is that I be able to afford (and obtain) enough ammunition to practice with that I can stay proficient with the firearm. Not only is .357 SIG harder to come by, but it's quite a bit more costly than .40SW. Both of these facts have made me steer clear of that caliber for about 15 years now.

I've made adjustments to Apache but if you know some things that we ought to be doing in http.conf fire them to me via PM. I'm not going to post things publicly about the server. Thanks.

We log all of our traffic and when an event like this occurs, there are commands that I can use at the server's shell interface to see which IPs are involved. However, most DDoS attacks involve compromised hosts that are not owned by the person doing the attacking. Which makes it a little more difficult to track back to them.

John, thanks for stopping by to post this. It really does appear that there may be some side deals being cut with the way the votes fell. People... email and call your Representatives today and tell them that you don't want HB0962 being held up any longer and that you want it passed without the age and curfew restrictions. These people work for you and it's up to you to remind them of that.

Guys, I've got very good records of when it started happening. We didn't just discover this last night; we've known about it for some time now. I finally decided to take the "social" route and offer a reward yesterday, that's why I made it public. When an investigation is ongoing, the first thing you do is not run around telling everyone that something is up. Thanks for your concern though. I'm doing my best to resolve the issue behind the scenes and we may be moving to a new web host that provides better DDoS security and is willing to cooperate in hunting down those responsible. Our current host doesn't deal very often with this type of situation and hasn't been super helpful to that end.

It is real and it's not an excuse made up by the web host. What other forums have been hit lately?

Overly expensive when compared to similar firearms. High bore axis makes muzzle flip a little more pronounced. "HK Tax" on accessories such as mags, gear, etc. Other than that... nope, no bad things to say about them.

Nice blaster. I have to say, based on the number of high-end 1911s that you have posted over the past year you either have the most understanding wife or you're a seriously single guy.

Guys, if he lives in another state then it has to go through an FFL. Let's not have any of this sneaky "the less they know" crap since it's essentially advocating an illegal act. We don't need that sort of nonsense on TGO. We do it above board here or we don't do it.

He's using one of the canned avatars that I put together for TGO back when I first launched the site. It's a Speer Gold Dot. I wasn't sure at first but I found the original photo on my hard drive.
