1. Thanks for the well wishes. I know this has been frustrating to you all as well. Thankfully the changes that I made yesterday to shore up the server appear to be holding their own despite the fact that the attacks persist. I've got a few more changes to make today and then I'll be even more comfortable with our improved security.
2. Those are beautiful. Nicely done!
3. Further inquiries regarding this supposed wood chipper will have to be forwarded to my attorney.
4. I do miss it on occasion but the 340 has more or less taken it's place as my small, go everywhere gun. I think my next buy will be an M&P 45 or another 1911 of some sort.
5. Stick of Juicy Fruit?

Froggy, that looked like a good picture that you might want cleaned up a bit for posterity's sake. Feel free to swipe it back for your collection:
7. I would certainly never not advocate the use of a woodchipper.
8. Guys... the constant replies about not being able to get through really don't help me much. I realize that the server has been up and down this morning because I'm the one that's been doing most of the upping and downing as it were. I've just finished some changes that I hope will be beneficial.
9. Please refer to the Announcements forum for the latest news. Not everything that happens today is going to be the result of this ongoing attack. Some of the outages will be the result of work that I'm doing to shore up the server.
10. I'm almost at a loss for words. Almost. But as I teeter closer to the edge... Macville, thanks for sharing your expansive knowledge of how the US Census Bureau works and what they are legally permitted to do. I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule of [apparently] running the Census Bureau and telling us how it's done. And to think... in charge of all that by the age of 26. You've been through, what... two of them so far? One of which you might have actually been aware of. The other of which you probably only noticed as an interruption to your afternoon of watching The Power Rangers when the doorbell rang. Welcome to TGO.
11. The server has been under attack pretty much all evening. I've made some changes that appear to have allowed the web server itself to hold up under the brunt of it, but more changes are forthcoming.
12. FWIW... uncooperative people can/may receive visits from Census workers accompanied by LEO depending on the severity of the lack of cooperation and any hostilities shown toward them. Just keep that in mind, people.
13. Yeah... that's pretty ****ing out there. Seriously. The Census Bureau was putting together the equipment and logistics for the 2010 Census long before Obama assumed power.
14. Yep.
15. If I lived closer to Oak Ridge, my decision to buy a precision rifle would be so much easier.
16. They probably figure there is little contingency for paranoia.
17. Global Law Enforcement = Agencies around the world. Not the UN World Police that are going to come and take all of your guns away from you, slap your wife and kick your dog.
18. All the better for it's intrinsic value I guess. Is it on display at the shop for people to stop by and drool over?
19. They have to know where and how many forms to send.
20. Sweet. I keep being tempted to pick up a Compact model again to round out the family, but they just don't fit my hand very well.
21. Sounds like it's a Guard unit, right?
22. Nice. Let's keep the advertising speak to the Vendor forums, though. I do appreciate you sharing the pics of the rifle and the letter of authenticity in the Long Guns forum however. Now for the truly important question: I'm assuming that due to it's collector value you haven't... but have you shot it?
23. Nice. My father in law is working for the Census this year, doing the geo-tagging. They have the same rights to be on your property as a Law Enforcement Officer does. No Trespassing Signs mean nothing to them as they are not trespassing when they are in execution of their official duties. That being said, my father in law has also had a firearm pulled on him, brandished and in some cases pointed directly at him by people on several occasions now. I can't tell you how good it makes us feel when we hear stories like that only to come on here where we generally pride ourselves on having moral, legally responsible folks as members, and read crap like this. Like I said, nice. Sooner or later, someone is going to end up shooting one of these Census employees and all hell is going to break loose among the anti's because of it. The reason they may knock on your door or walk around your house is to try to see if someone is home to answer a question for them. Typically that question is going to be along the lines of "Can you verify the address here please?". The folks who are out and about right now aren't even information takers. They are just mapping out every place where people MIGHT live in the continental US. They even have to tag homeless camps. Do with that and your Reynolds Wrap what you may.
24. Already in the middle of construction here. My existing workbench just got a 3/4" plywood top with a new 3/4" MDF kitchen counter top laid on top of that. The new bench for reloading gear is going to be constructed with 4x4 legs, 2x4 stringers and the same sandwich of 3/4" plywood and 3/4" MDF counter top. I'll post pictures of the bench once I'm done. I may need to find some cheap cabinets to store supplies above the bench, so if any of you know of some...
