How Do I Obtain a Handgun Carry Permit? To obtain a handgun carry permit in Tennessee, you must first successfully complete a handgun safety course offered by a handgun safety school that is certified by the Department of Safety. You should then make application at any full service Driver Service Center. You will need to bring with you the original copy of your safety course completion certificate, proof of US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency, photo identification such as your Driver License, and $115 NON-REFUNDABLE permit fee. This fee may be paid in cash, money order or with a certified check. If there are no problems with the application and you meet all eligibility requirements, you should receive your permit within 90 days of the date you submit your application. When your application is processed at the Driver Service Center, you will be given instructions on being fingerprinted. Even though a person has a permit and is authorized to possess or carry a firearm pursuant to T.C.A. 39-17-1315 or 39-17-1351, there are restrictions as to where firearms may be carried. Additional information pertaining to possession of and carrying a firearm are listed by Tennessee Annotated Code and subject matter. I made pretty good ground last week, then gave some of it up yesterday by virtue of nearly 1/2 gallon of beer consumed. But it was good beer. Back to the grindstone again today!

Just got a big reloading rig and could anyone....
TGO David replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Jennings, this is not the first time that you've tried to bypass the requirement of being a TGO Benefactor to post things for sale. I suggest that you either dig into your sofa cushion and find $25.00 to become a Benefactor and do it the right way or that you cut it out before you're removed from TGO completely. Thanks. -
Ordered a K & D today... Wait....
TGO David replied to jay1313g's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I had a K&D Dakota Defender for my M&P 40C back in the day and loved it. -
June Middle TN Meet & Shoot -- Choose The Date
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
Yes, that is my understanding. They do require rifle calibers be shot on rifle lanes, however. -
Great photos! Looks like a class that we're going to have to take sometime soon.
-
And the gauntlet has been thrown! I love my Glock 19 and it seems to co-exist nicely with our various M&Ps inside the safe. Maybe the Glock is defective.

Sadly I think that SEVERAL members here need to review our Code of Conduct again. Tennessee Gun Owners - FAQ: General Information There are proper ways to handle a disagreement with the moderators. What has transpired in this thread is NOT the proper way and will result in people being ejected from the TGO community if they persist in trying to rally a mob reaction. Some of you really should walk a mile in the shoes of a moderator sometime.

I was given a warning for posting a safety conscious video
TGO David replied to a topic in Feedback and Support
The warning was issued because your post was in poor taste given that it was in the Women & Firearms forum and the video was of a female police officer mishandling a firearm. Whether you meant it or not, the perceived intent of that post was to belittle our female members. My suggestion is to use better judgment next time. -

How large is the cabinet that you bought? I had a Sentinel cabinet that I sold here recently and should have kept for other purposes. Now I wish I had it back.
-
Sorry... had to get that out of the way first. Welcome to TGO.

I would say no. The odds of the .GOV restricting the sale of Taurus revolvers are far less than the odds of them restricting the sale of AR15s. You should be able to trade just the two Tapco magazines for anything made by Taurus. Seriously, Taurus doesn't have the best reputation for after the sale support. I'd look for a revolver from another manufacturer if it were me, and then re-consider the trade.

TGO David replied to RASHGUNNER's topic in General Chat
If it's a rumor or a question, it doesn't belong in the Newsworthy Reports forum. Sorry. Moving this. -
