HEARING ON GUNS IN RESTAURANTS JULY 13TH!
TGO David replied to ngoeser59's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
If enough people comment in this thread that they are going to be there, then we can set a rallying point outside or inside the courthouse to distribute some "lapel badges" showing our support of our Second Amendment rights. -
Don't go wearing an empty holster. It's going to be seen as being inflammatory if you do and the media will wear it out. That's assuming that security lets you in like that in the first place. If I was charged with keeping people with firearms out of a building, and some dude walked in wearing a holster, you can guarantee he'd get some extra scrutiny. If you want to do something, wear an NRA hat. Wear a TGO hat. Wear an NRA polo or some other innocuous article of clothing that doesn't make you look like a wingnut but does show where you stand on the issue. Make a name-badge style sticker that says "I SUPPORT THE 2nd AMENDMENT" and wear that on your shirt or something. Hell if enough people want them, I'll make some up, print them on the color laser printer here at TGO HQ and hand them out somehow.

Wear your TGO or NRA hat. -
Log, The Jew in question also operates a forum that would be a perfect place to go and promote his shop for him. I'll make it easy for you and give you no choice but to go there. Tell him I said hello.

This is not good advice and the issue is not black and white at all. Your firearm is your last resort.

M&P 9 Breast Cancer Model @ Guns & Ammo

Agreed. My wife commented on the same thing when I pointed it out to her. -
Keep in mind that while I don't mind the OP posting a link to the story, we in no way advocate any sort of secessionist nonsense. In fact, I've spoke out against that sort of thing here in the past and we still have a zero tolerance policy regarding it. If this thread takes a turn toward that, it's done.

You've got enough on your plate right now. Benefactor status is on the house.

I don't buy it. I don't buy that these groups will mobilize against the direction that our nation seems to be taking when so many of them won't get off their lazy asses and vote, or at the very least won't vote against candidates that continue pushing us toward Socialism. It is an almost weekly occurrence now that I will meet someone who tells me that they just recently bought their first firearm because they are afraid that the Obama Administration is going to make it impossible to do that sooner or later. It's also alarmingly frequent that these people voted for Obama. So, yeah, I don't buy it. Americans have gotten too lazy to even mobilize peacefully.

Refinish Job - Springfield Marine Corps Operator
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
What kind of rifle? If it can be disassembled into pieces small enough to fit into my existing oven, I can do it sooner than later. If it's too large for that, I'm still assembling the pieces to build a large curing oven. -
Unsolicited word of advice: Take it and shoot the hell out of it before you trust it enough to start carrying it. Short (sub 4") 1911s are notoriously bad about jamming. Several of the big-name 1911 smiths are very vocal about not going shorter than 4" on them.

For those who have been waiting patiently... pricing information on refinishing is coming soon. As in this week. As in... tomorrow or Wednesday. -
Refinish Job - Springfield Marine Corps Operator

Angelo got a free pass into the garage since he's spent just about as much time in there wrenching on cars as I have. But the truth is, spraying moly-resin requires a really good respirator mask and I've only got one of those and don't want to risk anyone else being exposed to the MEK solvents used in the process. Even Angelo retreated into the house while I shot the finish. I won't be allowing audiences in the refinishing process; sorry. -

The next time I have a chance, I'll get Angelo to let me take pics using my DSLR. Those pics were taken with my wife's Canon point and shoot and the color isn't the best. The stainless moly looks like stainless steel. It's really nice looking. -

Don't take this as gospel, but from what I remember reading the MC Operator and the Kimber Warrior were similar to their two companies respective entries in the USMC MEU 1911 project. I found an article on the Springfield MC Operator here: SPRINGFIELD’S MC OPERATOR PISTOL | Soldier of Fortune -
M&P 9 Breast Cancer Model @ Guns & Ammo

Clever. Pink "nipple" protrusions. It took me a minute to see what the hell you were talking about. -
It is seriously hit or miss with M&P trigger quality out of the box. Their range of acceptable factory tolerances in the trigger deal completely with breaking weight, not reset or travel. It's pretty sad, really. My M&P 40 has the best M&P trigger that I have ever felt. Period. I was tempted to send it in for the same work done to the M&P 9, but have since decided against it.

Yesterday my friend Angelo and I spent the day refinishing his Springfield Marine Corps Operator frame. Work done was essentially: Media blast the frame. Refinish using Stainless Steel Norrell's Moly Resin. Polish slide to frame interface. The firearm comes with an Olive Drab frame as shown in the first photo (not mine). The results are in the subsequent photos. The black smudges on the frame are from lube.

How do you figure? That's exactly the way they look and are equipped. -
I love my 19. Tried to love a 21SF and just couldn't. But I love my 19.

Happy Fourth to you as well. I decided to take some time off this weekend so I likely won't be around any tomorrow to wish you all well "the day of". Enjoy the holiday, remember why we're celebrating it, and stay safe!
