  1. I am making some phone calls and will post a venue this evening. We had a brief pow-wow earlier at the Courthouse and decided that it might be best to have this outside of Davidson County given the inordinate amount of attention that will be given to any such gathering. There was a bit of concern that Metro PD's leadership might be overzealous in trying to police the new law, especially if they knew where a pro-2A meet was happening. That said, the middle TN function will most likely occur in Williamson or Rutherford county. Stay tuned.
  2. Not Daniel, but... 1. Full court room. Room seated approximately 18 in the gallery although I suspect there were closer to 24. Representatives of the media sat in what would have typically been the juror's seats. Enough citizen interest was present that the Court provided overflow seating in a nearby room with televised coverage and audio piped into it. Daniel, Fallguy, Ngoeser59 and myself were all in the primary chamber. 2. There were a few TGO shirts and one TFA shirt visible in our room. I noticed a few members of the TFA present, including John Harris and Bob Pope. 3. I saw no "incidents" 4. No protesters outside that I saw.
  3. First and foremost, thanks to Ngoeser59, Daniel and Fallguy for coming out today. If there were other TGO members present, you guys must have been in the overflow room so please do not take this as an official tally of who was there and who wasn't. The bottom line is that the Court denied the motion for an injunction filed by all three groups of plaintiffs. So yes, at midnight tonight the new law goes into effect. HOWEVER... Chancellor Bonnyman did encourage both sides to revisit the issue in 90 days, passing the matter on as a cross-motion for examination on the basis that the new law might indeed be unconstitutional. So this may not be the last we will hear about whether or not HB0962 will remain a law.
  4. TGO members should consider taking up a collection to pay his ticket for him.
  5. Pocket carry might be a good option for you. A small J-frame revolver, perhaps.
  6. TGO people, what say we meet up somewhere near the entrance to the courthouse proper... out on the sidewalk or something? Barring rain, in which case I'm going to suggest the lobby.
  7. I'm still planning on being there. I have a meeting at 10:00 that should be done by 11:30. Provided that is the case, I intend to arrive at around 12:00 and will very likely be wearing my black TGO polo and khakis.
  8. Yes. Unless you're Musicman... then you shoot everyone elses. (runs and hides)
  9. I'm not sure where that stat came from, but to be fair I'm sure the reason any such statistic might be true is because police officers are far more likely to be involved in an active-shooter situation than HCP/CCP holders are. The more incidents of fire, the more likely something might go wrong.
  10. Agreed 100%. The barbed wire and tribal tattoos stay at the forefront of my mind when I think about "trinket tattoos". Those, ass-antlers, Asian symbols, butterflies or fairies on chick's ankles, etc. strike me as being trendy fashion accessories. The guys at tattoo shops love having to cover them up later when people come to their senses.
  11. Meh. Trinket tattoos, yes. People who are into it for the art form, no.
  12. Sights are easy on a Glock. Most night sights will come with the front sight tool which is essentially a small hex-nut driver (sorta). The rear sights drift off to the right and reinstall to the left. You can do it with a wooden dowel and mallet if you are SUPER careful not to strike it hard enough to damage the tritium inserts. I have a Glock-specific sight tool that I use for this. The red lube you found is a factory heavy grease. Nothing to worry about. It'll go away the first time you hose the frame and slide out with some cleaner. Just apply a good oil to it afterward and you're good to go.
  13. Anyone got some chitlins? Pork rinds? Anyone?

    Busted!

I'm sure he was just inspecting her fiscal bottom line.
  15. Let me be clear about this: The hearing on Monday is not an interactive debate. The only persons who shall be heard at the hearing are the involved attorney(s) and the involved complainants. This is why I specified, very clearly, that anyone who attends to show support for HB0962 is to do so SILENTLY. This means no signs, no facial gestures, no groans, no grunts, no comments, no "Amens", no interjections of any sort PERIOD. The NRA nor any of its representatives are not designated as parties of interest in the complaint filed therefore they, nor any of us, will be allowed to voice our opinion. This is not a trial. It is not a town hall meeting. It is a hearing of a complaint filed by Rayburn, et al. I want everyone to be very clear on this fact before they attend. Anyone who shows disrespect to the court by interrupting the proceedings will likely be thrown out and perhaps found in contempt. If you choose to attend, do not embarrass the cause of Tennessee's HCP holders and gun owners through your actions or appearance. Thanks.
  16. Absolutely do not try to contact Chancellor Bonnyman or the Court Clerk regarding this. The only people who may interact with the Chancellor or Clerk regarding this case are the attorney(s) and person(s) of note in the case. Anything else is, at the very least, disrespectful of the court.
  17. Submitted to us by a concerned Kingston resident... At 7:00pm next Tuesday July 14 the City of Kingston City Council will be voting whether to override recent Tennessee legislation that allows permit holders to carry on city property. Kingston Vice Mayor Teresa Ferguson and Kingston Mayor T Beets are trying to enact a resolution to Prohibit Handguns in Public Municipal Parks, Natural Areas, Historic Parks, Nature Trails, Campgrounds, Forests, Walking Trail, Greenways , Waterways, or Other Similar Public Places Within the City of Kingston Please ask your members to express nicely their feelings on the proposed law to ban handguns on city property. Here is a list of councilmember’s email: Don White INKY76201@aol.com Kevin McClure kbmcclure@comcast.net Norman Sugarman nsugarman@bellsouth.net Teresa Ferguson Vice Mayor candidate07@bellsouth.net Tim Neal timothyneal@bellsouth.net Troy Beets Mayor troybeets@bellsouth.net Brant Williams brant@brantwwilliams.com
  18. Other organizations have suggested wearing a suit. I'm saying business casual. Unless you're a lawyer, you probably don't have very many suits hanging around in your closet, but most of us have a nice pair of khakis and polo shirt that we can wear. Leave the slogan shirts and clothing of that nature at home.
  19. That's excellent news. Good luck with the interview!
  20. Thanks for the support there, Phil. You have a PM.
