  1. Very true. I wanted badly to like my Glock 21SF but just couldn't make myself. I still want either an HK45, HK45C or an M&P 45 Mid Size. Maybe one day soon.
  2. Back in the day, I had my own data center and had my own network-layer defenses to mitigate these problems. Now, I'm relying on a data center in Chicago which typically does well for us... doesn't cost a whole lot... but doesn't do much in terms of security. Litespeed is actually head and shoulders better than Apache (IMO) but this latest bug is pretty freaking annoying.
  3. I'd call Barry.
  4. XD-45, Glock 21, M&P 45...
  5. We use a somewhat unique web server called Litespeed that replaces the more common Apache. It's been extremely resilient in the face of DDOS attacks and things like that, but lately a bad piece of code in a version update started causing instability problems. I thought we had it licked and then the vendor released an update that they said was "the cure" for the previous bug. Like a moron, I upgraded. So we're back to running the old version again and I'm sitting here just waiting and watching to see if it will explode once more or just run reliably as it has for the past 4 days.
  6. I think if you carefully re-read what I said, no where in there did I state that I want to sacrifice capacity for a slightly larger bore diameter. No where. It's pretty common knowledge that I carry either a Glock 19 or an M&P automatic in either 9mm or .40SW depending on what mood strikes me. None of them have less than a 15rd mag capacity and at no time do I carry less than two magazines and often a backup gun. I've got capacity covered.
  7. Check with Barry Tidwell over at Price & Tidwell. [link] He's a friend of mine and they are up and running doing NFA trusts now, having plugged into a network of attorneys that provide this service across the country. His firm is a Vendor here on TGO.
  8. That price is about average for a solid NFA trust done by an attorney. You just have to ask yourself if you want cheap or if you want good.
  9. As part of a plea agreement. I'm not supporting the guy or advocating his innocence, but I do know people who had similar situations occur where they could either go bankrupt fighting the system or just plea out and walk away with at least some of their life and livelihood intact. Like the old saying goes, you can't [always] fight City Hall.
  10. Give me friend Barry Tidwell a call. They do a lot of estate planning law (as well as NFA Trusts). Murfreesboro, Tennessee DUI Law. Price and Tidwell
  11. You need to host your pictures somewhere else (your own Internet provider's web space, Photobucket, Snapfish, Smugmug, Tinypic, etc.) and then link to them in your posts here. We only allow vendors and Staff to post attachments directly to the forum database.
  12. I don't want to be guilty of convincing a guy not to buy another gun, because that's just crazy talk, but I would like to point out that depending on how large your hands are, the M&P 40c and 9c both have such short grips on them that they can make hasty mag changes fairly painful. The grip is so short that a good portion of your palm may overlap the bottom of the magazine well. While this isn't much of a problem while shooting, if you have to reload fast you're probably going to get some skin pinched off in the process of slamming the fresh magazine home. I didn't do this in a "fight" but it did happen to me at the house while practicing reloads with empty mags and I still have a bit of a scar to prove it. I traded the M&P 40c off after that and worked my way back toward a Glock 19/23 for a compact carry gun.
  13. I'd like to know why you were searching for a homo-erotic picture of kayakers drinking from a keg.
  14. I agree with most of what he said, but I would like to point out the flaw in this statement: I hear this a lot. I read it a lot. I even believe it an extent. However, the flaw in the statement is the assumption that the same advances made with 9mm projectile construction have not been applied to the .40SW or the .45ACP projectiles as well. The statement strives to compare the "modern 9mm" to the antiquated .45ACP TMJ ball round. Apples and oranges! If you compare the modern 9mm to the modern .40SW or the modern .45ACP, the bigger projectiles are still expanding to bigger sizes than the modern 9mm. Granted, expansion is not the end-all be-all measurement of a projectile's effectiveness. You also want a healthy balance of penetration and, given the choice between the two, you want penetration more than you want expansion. I just think that the argument made with this particular talking point is flawed and doesn't really belong in the debate in the presented form.
  15. I don't get it. What's wrong with carrying the M&P 40 every day? I do and I have no problems. Full size gun, IWB or OWB. It sounds like you already have the perfect carry gun but you're not seeing it for some reason.
  16. Generally not the best question to ask a Marine.
  17. ??? That doesn't really matter anymore.
  18. To include an image that is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image.
  19. Not something I've ever done, but I guess you could find a case to hold a faceplate off of a radio or something like that and stuff your slide in there. I'd be more worried about the serialized barrel and frame on a Glock, than just the slide.
  20. FYI... As I was leaving the other day, I noticed that the entrance to the River Journey building was posted with a notice to the effect that certain items were prohibited, including weapons. I did not notice if any such thing was posted on the Ocean building or not. The postings did not meet the legal requirement.
  21. Cry me a river. If you don't like the rules, find another place to hang out.
  22. Eh... he really isn't doing anything to dispel the image of us being "bitter gun owners" and a majority of his writings were fairly racist. Sorry to be the wet blanket.

    Anyone ever use

I think your argument against it is stupid in principle too, but that's your prerogative and you've made your stance on the form abundantly clear numerous times in the past.
  24. We had a similar problem this morning. I've made some changes that I hope will prevent it from happening again, but the bad news is... we won't know until it does.
  25. The 400 Corbon uses the same case, necked down, as a .45 ACP cartridge therefore the extractor and ejector geometry are the same for both cases. The 10mm case has a smaller diameter, therefore a completely new slide assembly with proper placement of these components would be required for proper function.
