  1. Maybe it's because their interpretation of the 10th Amendment isn't the same as what yours is?
  2. I'm one of the first to kick Microsoft in the balls for doing something wrong, having made a good living supporting their junk for the past 15 years or so. Problem is... they got this one right. The bad news is that people will probably avoid Win7 for a while because of how monumental of a dick-up Vista was. Pity.
  3. I have a pre-order for Snow Lep with Amazon, so I'm looking forward to receiving my copy soon. Meh... I get tired of comments like this. Windows 7 is the version upgrade that Vista should have been but failed miserably at. It's as stable as XP and is lightyears more improved than Vista.
  4. I suggest taking this up with John Harris and voicing your discontent. While the TFA doesn't control what their members (or guests) say, that chapter should have done a little better job vetting this speaker before putting him front and center to ramble off a stream of patently false information.
  5. Those of you who think that some "attitude" was warranted in this encounter seriously need to stop and consider that the flip side of this could have been him being escorted off the property. Property owners can post prohibited or flat out tell you to leave. What harm was done with him showing the guard his permit? He satisfied their concerns and was allowed to continue on his way. It doesn't really matter that the guard has no legal authority to demand his HCP. He could have just shown him out and told him never to come back.
  6. While he has no legal right to ask you to see your permit, he is working for a company that has a legal right to prohibit you from carrying there if they so desire. You took the path of least resistance, which I think was smart given your options of either complying or being forced to leave.
  7. Yep... the Tenifer process that Glock applies to their slides is super strong stuff and leaves the slide looking just like that when I media blast them for re-finishing. Its pretty cool looking.
  8. That's an excellent first post and speaks to so many of the reasons why most of us here carry for our protection as well. Welcome to TGO.
  9. www.GunsAndGearExpo.com The site is live; just adding the finishing touches!
  10. You won't have a problem. I only saw one LCP on a table out there.
  11. I think you will be pleased if you go this route. I'm wearing my HK45 in the holster that Brandon made and it's super comfortable. The way he mounts the belt loops even provides flexibility in ride-height, so I raised the holster a bit so that it conceals even easier beneath a T-shirt now.
  12. Stop by and say hello to Brandon at the SharkTac booth.
  13. 1. Faster delivery. On the spot vs. 6-8 weeks. 2. Thicker belt loops; less chance of the kydex breaking there. 3. Additional grommets to improve retention around the trigger guard. 4. Wider "sweat guard"; doesn't bite into your skin as easy as the narrower guards do. 5. Did I mention on the spot delivery?
  14. They were talking about another location just across the road in Smyrna, but they aren't sure if it will pan out or not.
  15. I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon from Shark Tac today at the Smyrna gun show and had him fab up an outside the waistband holster for my HK45. I thought I'd post some pics so you guys could see the quality. As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of the Raven Concealment Phantom holster so I had Brandon whip up one of his similar designs. I can already see quite a few things about his holsters that I prefer more than the Raven. If you're in the Smyrna gun show this weekend, stop by the Shark Tac booth and tell Brandon hello and maybe get him to build something for you. We're hopeful to have him a the Mid-South Guns & Gear Expo this December too so this is an excellent chance to see what he can build for you ahead of time also.
  16. Hey guys... I'm standing at the Shark Tac booth right now watching Brandon fab up an OWB holster for my HK45 and just shooting the bull with him. He was commenting that this is their first show this far south and they haven't really had a good turnout at their booth. Problem is, the RK boneheads have stuffed them all the way against the wall next to the junk dealers so no one is coming over here where they are. This totally sucks for them, especially considering the quality of the gear he's cranking out. If you're wanting a good carry rig and don't want a 6-12 week wait, come see these guys this weekend. He's got a lot of common holsters pre-built and he can whip up something for you on the spot if you need custom work. I'll post pics of mine later tonight but it is quite similar in concept to the Raven Concealment Phantom that I have for my other guns, and priced extremely competitively. It'd be great to see some TGO referrals make thid trip worth it for them. Plus we're hoping to see him at the BIG expo event in December too.
  17. It was packed earlier. The usual assortment of good tables and junk tables. I did have the pleasure of bumping into the folks at Shark-Tac who were making custom Kydex holsters on the spot. In fact, I'm heading back over in a little bit to pick up a nice OWB rig for my new HK45 from him. Seems that the proprietor and I have similar tastes in firearms.
  18. Thankfully there are some professional contractors hard at work on the facility itself. But YES... there will be some opportunities for TGO Members to help out and make a few bucks for themselves in the process. As we get closer to the event, we'll start posting more information about these opportunities. Oh, and I seem to have omitted a really important feature: Joe @ Hero Gear is extremely passionate about supporting those who support the cause. He often provides special "TGO Benefactor Only" deals and discounts. When we started talking about this new collaboration, he was insistent that we find some way to provide something really cool to TGO Benefactors in the process. As a result, there will be a TGO Benefactor Hospitality Suite on site. We were checking out the room yesterday and it is 1,800 square feet of second-floor goodness that overlooks a portion of the show floor. Inside we're planning to stock it with some comfy couches, big screen TV, a pool table, and complimentary snacks and drinks for the Benefactors. It will be a kick ass place to hang out and socialize with your fellow TGO members and rest your weary feet from tromping around the show.
  19. Here are some photos from within the area that will host the Guns & Gear Expo. Keep in mind that they are still converting it from a factory to a market-place, so there is construction debris laying around and more work yet to be done. These should at least give everyone an idea of just how large the room is going to be.
  20. Alright guys... I guess it's time to put this thread to bed.
  21. This is a trademark SIG issue. Every SIG that I have owned has had this problem to one degree or another.
  22. Guys... let's keep this thread on track. I admit, I got a chuckle as well when I read the thread title, but the author of the thread clearly intended to share valuable information about preserving your trophies and we all need to respect that.
  23. ATF pays attention to gun shows because there are certain requirements that must be met in order to host them. Hero Gear's Class III status really doesn't even come into play. In fact, it was never even brought up.
  24. If you've got some handy. Guns, maybe? Actually the Agent that I spoke with this morning was a pretty cool guy. Good sense of humor. Knew your name.
