  1. I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon from Shark Tac today at the Smyrna gun show and had him fab up an outside the waistband holster for my HK45. I thought I'd post some pics so you guys could see the quality. As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of the Raven Concealment Phantom holster so I had Brandon whip up one of his similar designs. I can already see quite a few things about his holsters that I prefer more than the Raven. If you're in the Smyrna gun show this weekend, stop by the Shark Tac booth and tell Brandon hello and maybe get him to build something for you. We're hopeful to have him a the Mid-South Guns & Gear Expo this December too so this is an excellent chance to see what he can build for you ahead of time also.
  2. Hey guys... I'm standing at the Shark Tac booth right now watching Brandon fab up an OWB holster for my HK45 and just shooting the bull with him. He was commenting that this is their first show this far south and they haven't really had a good turnout at their booth. Problem is, the RK boneheads have stuffed them all the way against the wall next to the junk dealers so no one is coming over here where they are. This totally sucks for them, especially considering the quality of the gear he's cranking out. If you're wanting a good carry rig and don't want a 6-12 week wait, come see these guys this weekend. He's got a lot of common holsters pre-built and he can whip up something for you on the spot if you need custom work. I'll post pics of mine later tonight but it is quite similar in concept to the Raven Concealment Phantom that I have for my other guns, and priced extremely competitively. It'd be great to see some TGO referrals make thid trip worth it for them. Plus we're hoping to see him at the BIG expo event in December too.
  3. It was packed earlier. The usual assortment of good tables and junk tables. I did have the pleasure of bumping into the folks at Shark-Tac who were making custom Kydex holsters on the spot. In fact, I'm heading back over in a little bit to pick up a nice OWB rig for my new HK45 from him. Seems that the proprietor and I have similar tastes in firearms.
  4. Thankfully there are some professional contractors hard at work on the facility itself. But YES... there will be some opportunities for TGO Members to help out and make a few bucks for themselves in the process. As we get closer to the event, we'll start posting more information about these opportunities. Oh, and I seem to have omitted a really important feature: Joe @ Hero Gear is extremely passionate about supporting those who support the cause. He often provides special "TGO Benefactor Only" deals and discounts. When we started talking about this new collaboration, he was insistent that we find some way to provide something really cool to TGO Benefactors in the process. As a result, there will be a TGO Benefactor Hospitality Suite on site. We were checking out the room yesterday and it is 1,800 square feet of second-floor goodness that overlooks a portion of the show floor. Inside we're planning to stock it with some comfy couches, big screen TV, a pool table, and complimentary snacks and drinks for the Benefactors. It will be a kick ass place to hang out and socialize with your fellow TGO members and rest your weary feet from tromping around the show.
  5. Here are some photos from within the area that will host the Guns & Gear Expo. Keep in mind that they are still converting it from a factory to a market-place, so there is construction debris laying around and more work yet to be done. These should at least give everyone an idea of just how large the room is going to be.
  6. Alright guys... I guess it's time to put this thread to bed.
  7. This is a trademark SIG issue. Every SIG that I have owned has had this problem to one degree or another.
  8. Guys... let's keep this thread on track. I admit, I got a chuckle as well when I read the thread title, but the author of the thread clearly intended to share valuable information about preserving your trophies and we all need to respect that.
  9. ATF pays attention to gun shows because there are certain requirements that must be met in order to host them. Hero Gear's Class III status really doesn't even come into play. In fact, it was never even brought up.
  10. If you've got some handy. Guns, maybe? Actually the Agent that I spoke with this morning was a pretty cool guy. Good sense of humor. Knew your name.
  11. Today, M&P 40 in MTAC. I'm starting to see a pattern here.
  12. Spent the day with Joe looking over the event venue, taking pictures of the venue, and speaking with ATF agents. Everything is a go and we're still set to kick off on December 12th. I'll post some pictures of the facility's insides tomorrow.
  13. I spoke with the office staff at RK yesterday. This is the last show at Smyrna's Expo. The facility has been sold.
  14. I did some research. Apparently there is a kit composed of some P2000 and USP parts that make a direct fit for installing the LEM system into the HK45. You can send your complete firearm to HKUSA and have them do the work for close to $200 w/S&H. Crazy high price. Ordering the parts kit and doing it yourself seems to be a no-brainer. I did the light LEM conversion on a P2000 so it's not rocket surgery. Speaking of, there are also apparently a half dozen or so variations of the LEM system. Off the top of my head... Regular LEM Intermediate LEM Light LEM Combat LEM Competition LEM Two parts vodka one part lime LEM... er, wait...
  15. I'll do some asking around but in the meantime perhaps someone with firsthand knowledge will chime in. Just to be clear, you're wondering about the Country Music Hall of Fame and a place called Cha Cha (sp).
  16. Believe it or not, the one thing I'm not super crazy about with the HK45 is the thumb safety. I kind of wish it didn't have that. Maybe just a decocker button on the back of the slide, like the P2000 has.
  17. This can't be for the CIS booth... Todd always shows plenty of leg in his 5.11 shorts.
  18. I'm not carrying it at all since I don't have a rig for it yet, but no I will be carrying it with the hammer down in DA mode.
  19. I've toyed with the idea of doing the LEM conversion to the HK45. It's easy to swap back if I don't like it. Only problem is, I had a P2000 with the LEM trigger a few years ago and pretty much hated it. Who knows... I might give it a try again.
  20. How about "population centers" since that might be a better term. Nashville, TN Chattanooga, TN Huntsville, AL Further out... Knoxville, TN Memphis, TN Towns in Northern Georgia Towns in Northern Alabama
  21. Yes, actually I was speaking with a member about this at the last FNRA dinner and it is on my list of things to do. My really long list of things to do.
  22. How did you come to that conclusion?
  23. The 3913 and 3914 models are awesome for concealed carry. I had one years ago and beat myself up every time I think about the fact that I had a moment of complete idiocy and let it go. My wife now owns a 3914 and she loves it. Hell, I love it. The problem is, she won't let me carry it because it's hers.
  24. M&P 40 this morning in a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom OWB holster, covered with a t-shirt. Took the dog for a walk around the neighborhood and didn't want to be bothered with an IWB rig.
  25. I don't think that will take long enough.
