  1. It's a Magwell. The quality is extremely good and so far the finish is holding up nicely (I sprang for the Cerakote option) but the wait time was really long. It would probably have been even more worth it had I gone for the MARS golfball treatment instead of standard checkering. I just wasn't sure if I wanted that look on this gun.
  2. When I *do* rename threads, the SEO friendly url for the thread stays the old name. Just a cost of doin' business on the Interwebs.
  3. I've been busy working on a better web site for the Mid-South Guns & Gear Expo events that I'm co-producing with Joe @ Hero Gear, and I'd like some feedback on it. Often designers/coders or jacks of all trades (like me) get a little cross-eyed when we are working on projects and miss obvious things. That's when getting more sets of eyeballs on it makes the whole process go a lot smoother. Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think: http://www.gunsandgearexpo.com You can Google "gun shows" to see what most of the other sites look like. Most of them are hideous, so the bar was set pretty low to begin with, but I still want constructive suggestions.
  4. *sigh* Threads on TGO don't need to devolve to the point that we find ourselves pitted against one another. Closing this down.
  5. Today is the Kimber Warrior 1911 inside a Raven Concealment Phantom OWB holster, under a loose T-shirt.
  6. Honestly there are things that move that aren't legal to shoot that I'd like a crack at every now and again. Welcome to TGO. Enjoy your stay!
  7. Indeed.
  8. Or... it could be sold here on TGO. Just suggesting the obvious.
  9. Welcome, Jamesshot. What all has Jamesshot shot, if a Jamesshot could shoot shot?
  10. I just do it because it's no one's business what serial # my firearms have except for me and the Man.
  11. Hope it works for you. A red-dot optic on a .22 sounds like a lot of fun.
  12. So now you're comparing our military and law enforcement to the Gestapo because, "they were just doing their job too" ? I think you need to find another forum to use to advance this line of thinking. TGO isn't the place for it.
  13. A lot has changed in the world since 1775.
  14. You need to post a few more times and escape "TGO Freshman" status. You might also try searching the forum as it's been posted pretty frequently in the past.
  15. The problem is, Frank hasn't exactly just deceived people once. Him trying to run an illegal raffle on TGO and subsequently throwing a huge-ass fit when we shut down his thread -- we didn't even ban him! -- is just scratching the surface. From what I have read and heard from first-hand accounts, he has done it repeatedly. Further he has brought physical violence into the equation himself by threatening and assaulting people as part of the whole downward spiral. He has bad mouthed me on more than one occasion to other people but then tried to play it off and rewrite history when he was face to face with me and our former co-admin at a training class. Frank is a douche. Period. I consider it a public service to allow people to use TGO as a rallying point to locate his latest hiding holes and continue shoving him out of the firearms world and into fast food business where he belongs.
  16. Something like this perhaps, but from someone other than CTD... 36490 - Dovetail to Picatinny/Weaver adapter
  17. One of the best statements made yet.
  18. That's an odd endorsement. I don't care how good someone is at their craft; if they are unpleasant to be around, they won't get my money.
  19. I'm pretty sure Frank knows all about having the police called. And furthermore, I am quite honestly amazed that he hasn't been hunted down and done grave bodily harm by some of the people he's screwed over. I think the only reason that it hasn't happened yet is that it of course would be illegal.
  20. Regarding the 340 M&P, I approve of this message.
  21. Well, no... that's how they answer the phone. But past that, you can get some good info from them! Actually if you find an authorized HK dealer (and G&L might very well be, I'm not sure how that all works) they can order one for you straight from HK USA that is set up exactly how you specify. People over on HKPro do this all the time. I'm sure the dealer will want you to pre-pay, since you are essentially asking them to order a gun that is very specific to your requirements.
  22. Can't do that as it would affect everyone who reads, plus not every Benefactor has the same tolerance for bad language. Some don't mind it, others do. I'm one of those who doesn't really care either way but also doesn't want to hear / read a bunch of it all the time either. Cliffs Notes: Logistically improbable.
  23. I posted in another thread recently about the myriad of LEM spring combinations available. The basic gist is that the springs pretty much interchange. You can contact HK USA and ask them directly.
  24. Yeah... um... I'm going to have to get back to you on that.
  25. You know how you know that you screwed up? Because Jack Bauer doesn't carry a 1911.
