Sheesh... someone keeps leaving the door unlocked.

Ya know... I've had it with this silliness. For some reason the tactic of openly arguing with the moderators has become your new thing, and we do have a rule against that as well. We ask that you take it up with moderators in private, but you've chosen to do it publicly several times lately. One week TEMPORARY time-out for you. This will give you time to cool down and reconsider this approach to things. And for what it's worth, my suggestion wasn't an attack on Ralph. It was merely an idea that would give him ample exposure to a Socialist society and allow him to form more educated opinions on the matter in the future. Sort of like how a temporary ban will help you make a more educated opinion on whether or not you want to keep shoving moderators noses in things you don't like in the future. This thread is done.

Can we take up a collection and buy Ralph a one way ticket to the former Soviet Union so that he can experience socialized medicine first hand?

So your complaint with health insurance rather than health care. Just to be clear, because there are two totally different worlds in the health services industry. You have the providers and then you have the companies who are making serious bank off of what the providers do for their patients. Doctors aren't paid nearly as much as most people think, especially if you divide their salaries by the number of hours they work. The people who are getting fat and wealthy from the efforts of doctors, nurses, etc. are the companies that employ them and to a much greater degree the insurance companies.
-
Did I miss where there is documented, irrefutable, unbiased proof provided by a disinterested third party that unequivocally bears forth that the MAJORITY of Americans want health care reform? I'll concede that most people think that the health insurance companies need to be better regulated, but I won't concede that health care needs to be improved, nor will I concede that Americans do not have universal access to health care at a very basic level.

I'm going to pirate some music tonight just for you. Only because I'm sure that God feels it's a shame that the human ability to produce music is considered an "industry".
-
Worriedman, the Hitler quote is actually a pretty well documented fake.
-
I'm curious as to whether you, a musician by trade, have any practical experience within the medical industry other than as a patient, or if your apparent favor toward a socialized medicine program stems solely from the perspective of a consumer thinking it would be great to have Mother Government meet all of your health care needs. Half of my household works in the health care industry and I can assure you that the prospect of socialized medicine doesn't look quite so rosy from our perspective. Not because it would jeopardize our financial solvency, but because we actually do have some practical insight on how the system will change and it's going to SUCK for the patient.

Civility on the part of all involved in debate here on TGO is not just requested, it is demanded. As long as the issues are the only things being attacked, all is well. When members begin attacking members, the moderators have to intervene. If you feel that a person is simply trolling for a reaction, shut them down by refusing to participate in the thread or reply to their remarks. When you do this you not only remove fuel for the fire, but you also make it very obvious to the forum administration who is here to cause strife and who is here to engage in intelligent exchange of opinion. The people who are here just to cause strife will be removed. But (!!!) do not presume that just because a person holds an opinion that is 180-degrees out from that of the majority will be removed just because they are rubbing people's fur the wrong way. They have to be guilty of trying to incite unrest by purely trolling for reactions before I will remove them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, wrong as they may be in some cases.

I really like the ergos of the FN but the safety/decocking lever on the ones that I've held seems a little flimsy. Be sure to give us a range report!

The right-hand blinker is on.

No. The TGO logo is a registered trademark and we do not license it or allow it to be used in that way. Sorry.

It has happened to me every time I've ever done something like this, both here and on an automotive forum. It's part of it I guess but it really sucks being stuck holding the bag on things that cost money to produce.

I've still got hats that people originally said they wanted and never came through on purchasing. Shirts will happen, but not until the October 17th "2nd Or None" event held down at Barrett / Outpost at the very earliest and even then they will be made to order.

I'm sure he can turn water to wine as well. I've shot enough at USPSA events to know that a lot of guys run minor-power 9mm loads that barely leave the muzzle faster than a .22LR and subsequently run stupid-light recoil springs. It's fine as long as you're in an unlimited category, of course, but it's pure gaming. My brother showed me this video yesterday and I said then what I'm saying now; there's no way in hell that's a factory recoil spring unless he's somehow hooking the rear sight on the side of his pectoral muscle and racking it on the forward shove. In which case the guy has teets of steel.

Never said they could or would. Indeed. The only reason that I commented in the thread is so that people might be a little more informed on the variance in safe prices. If you want a really good safe you are going to have to pay a visit to someone like Nashville Safe House (a vendor here) or anyone else who sells top-tier safes.

Open Carry as a Civic Responsibility?
TGO David replied to TNTitan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Why not? Because your firearm is a means of personal protection, not a ballot box. More appropriate? At the ballot box. -

As I've said before, your holster isn't the right place to be an activist in my opinion. -
Unless his name was Fred and the killer just sucked at spellin' (which is entirely possible in some parts of Kentucky) I would say that having "Fed" scrawled across his body is a good indication that someone doesn't like the government very much.

Or you can be like StrickJ and be disturbed (and disturbing) enough to just get random titles assigned to you by the moderators from time to time.

Any injuries? Those bridges just don't move out of the way fast enough some times.

I use it almost exclusively. Good stuff.
