  1. I'm sure he can turn water to wine as well. I've shot enough at USPSA events to know that a lot of guys run minor-power 9mm loads that barely leave the muzzle faster than a .22LR and subsequently run stupid-light recoil springs. It's fine as long as you're in an unlimited category, of course, but it's pure gaming. My brother showed me this video yesterday and I said then what I'm saying now; there's no way in hell that's a factory recoil spring unless he's somehow hooking the rear sight on the side of his pectoral muscle and racking it on the forward shove. In which case the guy has teets of steel.
  2. Never said they could or would. Indeed. The only reason that I commented in the thread is so that people might be a little more informed on the variance in safe prices. If you want a really good safe you are going to have to pay a visit to someone like Nashville Safe House (a vendor here) or anyone else who sells top-tier safes.
  3. Copied from an email that we received at TGO HQ... Wounded Warrior Project's Soldier Ride is coming to Middle TN on Sept 26 - cycle with our Wounded Veterans 25 miles - 50 mile challenge or 4 mile walk - all proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project - Come out for the opening ceremony @ 8:30 @ Edwin Warner Park in Nashville - water breaks @ Jim Warren Park in Franklin - Pucketts in Leipers Fork - come wave a flag and show your support of these brave soldiers and Marines who have sacrificed so much while protecting our freedom. To register and more details visit Soldier Ride Nashville 2009 - Home SOUTHERN SHINDIG the night before @ Loveless Barn - featuring TRACE ADKINS - tickets available on web site. Let's welcome these HEROES to Tennessee !!!! A national event for WWP !
  4. Why not? Because your firearm is a means of personal protection, not a ballot box. More appropriate? At the ballot box.
  5. As I've said before, your holster isn't the right place to be an activist in my opinion.
  6. Unless his name was Fred and the killer just sucked at spellin' (which is entirely possible in some parts of Kentucky) I would say that having "Fed" scrawled across his body is a good indication that someone doesn't like the government very much.
  7. Or you can be like StrickJ and be disturbed (and disturbing) enough to just get random titles assigned to you by the moderators from time to time.
  8. Any injuries? Those bridges just don't move out of the way fast enough some times.
  9. I use it almost exclusively. Good stuff.
  10. It's my pleasure, and thank you.
  11. Shirts are planned, but I cannot claim credit for that particular logo. It is the work of a marketing firm who has been brought in to make sure that this event is produced to the highest level of quality possible. I'm glad you liked it.
  12. It happens from time to time. Our server is pretty stable now but we do share a virtual server with god only knows how many other people, so if one of them has a site that gets hammered, it slows us all down.
  13. There is a reason for this. Not to pee on the thread starter's parade, but there is a significant difference in the build quality of a Cannon safe that you find at Tractor Supply and the top-tier Cannon safe that you can get from a dealer. Things like fire rating, steel thickness, hinge design, lock design, internal barricades against locks and hinges being bypassed, etc. Failing to take this into consideration is like saying a $700 Chevette is a better bargain than a $21,000 Cadillac CTS-V. Both are Chevrolets, have four wheels, windows and an engine... but there is a huge difference. That said, a $700 safe is better than storing your guns in your closet and will at least slow down a fairly lazy thief and keep your guns reasonably safe for about 30 minutes in a typical house fire.
  14. That's the spirit! To answer the question... We recommend using a photo hosting service such as Photobucket to host your pictures. Once you upload a picture to Photobucket, their service provides you with links beneath each picture that you can copy and paste into a post here to include your photo. Optionally, if you know what the URL of one of your photos is elsewhere on the Internet, you can just click the Insert Image button in the message editor and paste the URL into the resulting pop-up. Do be careful when hot-linking from sites that you don't own or have an account on, however, because sometimes the owner of those sites will do a bit of trickery and cause their web server to insert nasty pictures instead of whatever it was you thought you were posting. Which, again, is why I recommend Photobucket. They are a legitimate photo hosting service and don't do anything like that.
  15. Regrettably, I have other commitments this weekend with family from out of town. Sorry.
  16. Still too early to say. We just got the green light to start accepting vendor reservations so I anticipate being able to list vendors starting the first week of October. That said, interest from vendors has been very high so far. We've got a sheet full of people who have verbally committed.
  17. I'm not following... are you unable to see the years when you browse it? If not, a screen shot might help me figure out what's going on.
  18. Thanks for sharing this. I've got a box in my safe that I haven't bothered carrying in anything but my BUG yet. I guess I always used the thought process that by the time I got down to using my backup, anything coming out of the barrel was better than a sharp pointy stick. Good to know it's capable of doing more than said stick.
  19. Mid-South Guns And Gear Expo - Mid-South Guns And Gear Expo Take a look, do some reading and then ask whatever questions you have. As Nightrunner said, we haven't done it yet. December 12th - 13th is our first weekend, but it's going to ROCK.
  20. MTAC by Comp-Tac and also a Raven Concealment "Phantom" outside the waistband.
  21. Assault is the first word that came to my mind. I know for a fact that I'd have ended up on top of the little bastard that threw the ball and dragged him straight to the store office and had them detain him while I called the police. You throw a baseball at me, I'm not going to shoot you but by the time I get done with your ass, you're probably going to wish I had.
  22. You guys have fun! September has just been an insanely busy month for me and I doubt seriously that we'll be able to make this.
  23. Thanks for the kind words. I use GlockTalk every great once in a while and only to search and run.
