  1. My problem is one of time. I just don't have enough of it lately.
  2. The Attorney General has clearly stated what sort of sign is legit and what sort is not. As long as you go by his metric, there is no reason why a HCP holder can not make an on the field call for themselves.
  3. My name is David and I haven't shot any of my firearms since early September. I'm having withdrawals.
  4. True enough.
  5. Yeah, mine happened on my way home from work after school. Fuel line popped off the carb and sprayed the generator. Whoomph!!!
  6. I'm down for a November shoot but I won't likely be able to make it in October. Quite literally every single weekend this month is already committed to something else.
  7. No, in your opinion carrying where incorrectly posted is a loser move. Ostensibly you feel this way because of your close association with the Law Enforcement community.
  8. The 20 is also available as a 20 SF (slim frame) model for about $500.
  9. Beware... they tend to multiply!
  10. I love air-cooled VWs. I owned a '74 standard Beetle back in high school and drove the hell out of it. It caught on fire once (common issue) so I rebuilt it and drove the hell out of it some more. I've still got my '74 sitting in my parents' garage back home in Kentucky. Every so often it's tempting to unbury it and put it back on the road, but then I stop and think about how many other projects consume my time and energy right now. Really don't need another. Absolute hotness! A friend of mine lives down in Spring Hill and owns a blue Viper with white stripes. You may have seen it around town, or even know him. Ted?
  11. Spike's products are decent quality. I use one of their lowers on my SBR. But the way they treated their retailers earlier this year is just pathetic and has cost me any future business with them.
  12. Give it time and TGO will likely be blocked as well; some employers already do depending on which filtering system they are using.
  13. I'd inquire about a rear sight and see if they omitted it by accident. Do you have a close-up picture of the flash hider?
  14. Very bad idea with a 1911. The firearm was designed to be carried cocked and locked. If you want to carry it with the hammer down, you need to just leave the chamber empty.
  15. You're not the first and won't be the last, so take solace in the fact that no one was injured and just take the necessary steps to prevent it from happening ever again. PS: As you've found, de-cocking a 1911 is a bad idea. The best way to do it is to drop the mag, rack the slide to clear the chamber, top off the mag and re-insert it into the firearm, leaving the chamber empty and the slide forward when you do.
  16. Sure, I don't mind doing this again this year. I'll try to come up with a list of prizes and post something by October 10th.
  17. There is a way to become a Benefactor by mailing a check. I don't want to be the bad guy here, but there are dozens of people on TGO who have invested into the community and some of them only because we require it for them to post ads. If I don't handle it fairly across the board, it is a meaningless program. Sorry, but this thread has to go. Honestly, this sort of thread really should result in a ban from the forum for at least 30 days and probably will from now on. I'm not doing it this time because I really don't want to be a dick, but you honestly couldn't walk into a store and steal a $20 item just because you didn't have a credit card to pay for it with and not expect punishment when caught.
  18. That's the way Kentucky approaches it. They also differentiate between BARS and restaurants though. It's illegal to carry into a bar up there. Any drinking/dining establishment that gets 51% of it's revenue from food sales is legal to carry in.

    TGO shirts

There is no decal. They are all embroidered. Come to the October 17th event at Outpost and you can order a shirt there and I'll do my best to have some size options for our more "profound" members as well. If I don't stop eating Halloween Oreos, I'll need one myself. There aren't any shirts other than a few that I produced for the moderators a while back. None of them have pockets. A couple of the moderators and I attended one of the Guns n' Bars (or was that Guns IN Bars? I can't remember...) court hearings a while back and someone got a picture of us sitting there with our TGO embroidered shirts. I think John Harris was wearing one too. Or maybe they just associated him with us. Not sure. Here's the situation: These shirts cost money to produce and shirt sizes are harder to predict stock quantities for than hats because there is such a huge variance in the stature of our members. Anyone who attends the Oct 17th Second or None event [link] will be able to order a shirt for themselves. It will be a pre-pay arrangement. I'm not going to get stuck with the bill and a bunch of shirts. It's happened in the past and I'm just not going down that road again. Embroidery takes about 2 weeks and shirts will be mailed out to their owners as soon as they are done. I'll have several different style options available. Hope this helps.
  20. Oh... that's Hillary Clinton's new ride.
  21. Outpost Armory, Hero Gear, Guns & Leather all charge fair prices for their transfers and are actual gun shops. Belshire Hardware is... well... a hardware store. Fine for hammers and nails. I prefer to help support the shops that support the TGO community.
  22. Absolutely amazing.
  23. Understood. We have seen several companies express interest but also express their regret for not being able to because of tight budgets. None the less, we're going to have an amazing event and hopefully the JROTC program will still benefit greatly from it.
  24. As Fallguy said, Oct 17th is the Second or None celebration hosted by Barrett Firearms, Outpost Armory and TGO. Maybe the 18th is a better option?
