Some more info about the Second Or None event!
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
How many more games will Bama play this year? I hope they lose. -
Hey, even the Court agrees that people are allowed to have opinions. Nothing libelous or slanderous about it. I even have a lawyer or two who will substantiate that if necessary.
-
I don't like anyone who runs their mouth as much as he does, stirs up as much crap as he does on as many forums as he does, then runs and hides behind a lawsuit the first time someone threatens to put him in check. He was probably the kid who got picked on in school and ran to hide behind the teacher when the other kids got tired of him and went to kick his ass. It's pathetic. People like him bully and bully until someone, sooner or later, pops a valve and puts a world of hurt on them. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened to him already if he really treats people like this in person. Just my opinion of him. Not stating any "facts" as it were. Just opinion.
-
He can kiss my ass. It's true and a matter of public record. After some of the crap he's said about me and my kids, I'd welcome a face to face discussion with him about it if he ever feels so inclined. I've known that douchebag for almost 10 years now as a member on the car forum that I run, and he's nothing but a mouthy run & tattle to someone bitch. The fact that he continues to be a problem to anyone is a testament to the fact that people in this world still have patience.

I had a great meeting with the event team yesterday and this thing is shaping up to be HUGE. We're all very excited about it. I do have some more information that might be timely to share... Activities: Inflatable jumpers and such for the kids Petting zoo Face painting Rutherford Co. Sheriff's Office will be doing child Identi-Kits Rock climbing wall courtesy of the National Guard Barrett original prototype rifles will be on display! Guest speakers throughout the event, including: Ronnie Barrett, Tennessee Senator Doug Jackson, US Congressman Zach Wamp, US Congressman Lincoln Davis, Tennessee Representative Judd Matheny, radio personalities Steve Gil, Phil Valentine and Ralph Bristol, as well as event organizers Chris Barrett and yours truly, and special guest Nikki Goeser. All of this will be centered around a 60' x 40' tent, so we will be ready to go rain or shine! Freshly smoked BBQ plate lunches will be available as well for the nominal charge of just $5.00 which goes towards a donation being presented to the Rutherford County Junior ROTC program. If it's raining, a shuttle bus will be provided to get you from the parking areas to the event tent. Of course, attendance is free of charge!

Nope... it's being advertised everywhere. Feel free to do that!

The ladies and SpecOps guys love flowers.
-
He says you send flowers all the time, though. Hmmm?
-
I've commented to that effect before. I think it's less likely to cause a stir if it's a woman, and especially if it's a woman who dresses nicely. I think it's because an armed woman seems more "defensive" and less "menacing" to the general public.

The crap we as web site owners have to deal with sometimes.

Wait... so you didn't profess to want to have man-sex with Joe @ Hero Gear?

Right now I'm being told that it was a router upstream from our data center that was dropping packets. In other words, it wasn't us and it wasn't our hosting company, but whomever they get their connectivity from. It seems to be correcting itself now.

Second -OR- None ... A Celebration of Liberty

Open carry is certainly your legal right in Tennessee provided that you have a HCP. I'm a firm believer in concealment, but that's just my opinion so you do what works best for you. On another note and to touch on something that Nikki said in her post preceding mine, no matter if your wardrobe is full of gun-culture clothing or not (and mine is!) please consider dressing in what I call Old Navy Camouflage for the event. You know, the stuff that the sheeple wear when they're at the mall or school or whatever. There are going to be news agencies covering this, one of them from Germany (!!!), so let's try to give them one less thing to clown us for on the news. I've got a whole closet full of camo that I wear deer hunting, but I'm not going to let them catch me wearing it at the event just to use me as the butt of some joke on the Berlin 10pm News. -
I think the problem is upstream from our datacenter. I'm working on it with our hosting company to see if it is anything that I can fix.

For those who are curious, the member in question is the same guy that we've kicked off of TGO a few dozen times in the past week. Spud's friend, Slim. Or perhaps Spuds himself. We'll find out soon enough. At the suggestion of another member here, I have begun the process of initiating a "John Doe" lawsuit against this guy so that Bellsouth will have to release his identity to me, after which time my attorney will issue a Cease & Desist order. If he fails to comply, I'll see him in court. It's more money and effort than I really want to waste on something like this, but it will set the precedent that you can't just "hide" behind the anonymity of the Internet and try to make someone else (or a group of someone else's as is the case with TGO) miserable. This guy is about to get a harsh lesson in the reality of life. And for what it's worth, I'm not posting this publicly to warn him off or scare him if he's reading. It's too late for that. I'll push forward with this on the merit of what he's already done, no matter if he stops now or not. At this point I just want this jackass to suffer the consequences of his actions.

I am going to report it to our hosting company and see what they can tell me.

Hilarious... but if Bob Barker did that to a young woman contestant... -
Goodman's Nashville Gun Shows... No More? Any truth to this?

I'm happy to hear that the rumor is false, then. In light of that, I am closing this thread unless something else comes up that makes it a valid course of discussion again. Never know! -
Second -OR- None ... A Celebration of Liberty
TGO David replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
This event isn't a gun show and I think that idea (carrying a rifle with a price tag on it) would probably be in poor form. I'd stick to just carrying your normal self-defense sidearm and enjoy the event for what it was intended to be. -

Yes, that's correct. Truth be told, Miller Lane is essentially devoted entirely to the Outpost and Barrett facilities. You won't be able to miss it. -
What model .45 are you shooting? My 1911s are all super manageable and give a lot less recoil than my .40SW handguns. My HK45 is even more of a creampuff to shoot because of the polymer frame and compound recoil spring assembly.

There's a Hampton up here in Smyrna about 15 mi from the event. New, nice. Also one on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, about 10 mi from the event. We usually stay at Hamptons also when we travel. If you want, I can have some TGO name tags printed out at the TGO table and we'll just write screen names on them. Stop by the table and pick one up.
