  1. It's always easy to form odd and unusual theories of why certain things happened the way they did when you weren't a part of the planning process and weren't savvy to the specific challenges that presented themselves over the course of that planning process. I'm sure that there were people who wondered why Vanilla Ice got invited to your event instead of some other rap artist. That said, I can promise you that while the Outpost benefited it was not established as a "Let's drive a boatload of sales to the Outpost some random Saturday this year" event. At no point during the day did anyone announce that people were required to go into the store and buy something, so the conspiracy theory that it was all about boosting their sales is pretty ludicrous. I started this thread for constructive feedback, not so that people could lob stones at the sponsors and vendors. As the event grows in years ahead, I'm sure that there will be increased opportunities for other vendors to become involved. Frankly, the Barrett family would have welcomed that sort of financial assistance with the event this year as well but ultimately bore the vast majority of the burden themselves. For that, we should all be thankful since it allowed a large number of Tennessee gun owners to come together and meet with their elected representatives, and each other, and take home "ammo" for the cause. Keep that in mind.
  2. They work "okay" for small touch-ups but I've seen this stuff come off eventually with some gun cleaning solvents. If it's an entire firearm or a larger part of one, I'd have it re-blued professionally rather than ghetto it with one of those pens.
  3. Some of you guys really should try to organize something like this sometime. The cost for advertising alone just to get people there to HEAR those who were speaking was somewhere north of $15,000.
  4. Rockin. My brother (also a member here) was USAF ordnance. Glad to have you here.
  5. Glad to hear you're liking the new leather!
  6. Yes indeed... one of our Supporting Vendors, in fact. Israeli Combat Training Please give Ben a shout and let him know you found about it on TGO.
  7. An oldie but goodie... excellent and true.
  8. Welcome! Air Force Ordnance by chance? (IYAOYAS)
  9. Hope to have a definitive answer from the supplier today on how he wants to proceed with sales.
  10. Bought 'em from that guy who clears out all of the Walmarts and then sells them at the gun shows for 200% retail.
  11. I'm sold!!!
  12. Just wondering if anyone here has had any dealings with Nashville Airsoft. Airsoft gear seems to be gaining popularity among the force-on-force training community as a viable option for those who cannot or do not wish to invest in simunitions style training. I'd like to speak with these guys and perhaps other airsoft shops in the area and see about getting them to participate at the Guns & Gear Expo events starting up in December. Any contacts that you might have would be appreciated, or even a personal introduction to the people you know. Thanks!
  13. Still working out the payment details with the owner of the shirts. Will update this thread as soon as I know exactly how he wants to proceed.

  15. A lack of response shouldn't indicate a lack of interest. I don't always reply when I'm waiting for more information from other parties.
  16. Yep, I signed up for it yesterday... I think. Received the email and decided to take a look. All in all it seems like a decent resource that could be grown into an excellent resource by the NRA.
  17. My Smith & Wesson 3913 back in '94 or so. Should have kept it, but have since picked up a 3914 for my wife so it's almost like having the old gun back.
  18. Collin, if you get the sights I can put them in for you. I have an MGW Sig-specific sight tool sitting about 10 feet from me.
  19. " You don't need a gun. The police will protect you. "
  20. Because cops don't have enough to put up with on a daily basis already, and desire to make more of it for themselves right? Seriously? You really believe that? You honestly think that cops go around making crap up so that they can get hammered by Internal Affairs later? Kentucky has been that way for as long as... well.. as long as I can remember. You know how many people I have ever seen open carrying in Kentucky, from birth to my 37'th birthday?TWO. One was a farmer. The other was just a random guy. TWO. In thirty seven years. That's not saying you should draw any sort of statistic from my experience, it's just saying that I, as a gun guy who NOTICES guns ... has seen two people open carry in the hundreds of square miles that I actively lived within for 25 years and roamed within for 37 years. Interesting.
  21. Nope, sorry but you're wrong. It's the same WXW group that puts on the Lebanon show. (http://www.mwxmarketing.com/images/Win09_Lebanon.jpg)
  22. Contrary to other reports, I'm pretty sure that this IS the same show as the one in Lebanon recently. And yes it was horrible out there.
