  1. A week's worth of food at $1.00 in some third world hole generally consists of rice, flour or corn meal (if they are lucky), powdered milk (again if they are lucky) and whatever bugs and rodent droppings may be within all of the above. A weeks worth of food in the USA is a little better quality than that, even if you're on government subsidized meal programs.
  2. I'm glad you posted that. I hadn't received it from any of the people who usually bombard me with chain emails.
  3. Just an update... I extended an invitation to Missouri Bullet to come and set up as a vendor or exhibitor at the Mid-South Guns & Gear Expo in December. The email that I received in kind was a simple "Not interested". After inquiring if they were not interested in December or just not in the event at all, they replied "Neither". Understanding that it's a bit of a long haul, I also view their indifference to the event in context with the number of LARGE manufacturers who are traveling from several states away to participate. In that light I feel fairly justified in saying that I will most certainly be spending my money with those who spend theirs with the local economy. I'm just throwing this out there for those of you who might feel the same away about such things and might want to shop around some at the Expo and see who is selling ammo there instead. YMMV.
  4. I agree and I was working hard to get them here as well. However somewhere along the way signals got crossed and they committed to do an event closer to Ohio the same weekend.
  5. I'm sure the Navy still uses people for barnacle scraping.
  6. I cannot believe how hard it is to get a good holster manufacturer to show up at an event that is practically guaranteed to drive business to them. I guess most of them are just one or two man operations and stay so backed up that they just don't see the point in generating more business. That said, I would really really really like to see a custom holster manufacturer present at our event December 12th and 13th. Ideally we want someone who can do either/both... Custom Leather Custom Kydex If you have recommendations for a person or company located in the greater Southeastern US (or not opposed to travel) then please post them here or send them to me in PM. I thought we had some local guys on TGO who were doing this stuff.
  7. I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that a four year stint in the military would help you. A lot.
  8. I have always had the greatest of respect for W. His second term policies may have sucked, but you knew where the man stood. Namely, he stood squarely behind the men and women of our Armed Forces and stood behind doing what he thought was right for our country. Obama is a disgrace to the office.
  9. Remind me again which one you ordered?
  10. As long as one of your vices isn't luring dudes from the Internet to your house for CosPlay experiments... it sounds like the OP may have a solution to his problem. Thanks for stepping up!

    Where to go?

You should be banned from TGO for this.
  12. Getting into IT is cut-throat right now, especially if you have no prior experience. I'm not sure I would echo the sentiment that it's the way to a better life. Not until the economy stabilizes at least. Have you considered trying to get on with a private sector security company of some sort? Seems that the skill-set would transfer pretty easily.
  13. I can't believe that I don't remember posting all of these things under my many split personalities.
  14. PDO is already slated to join us.
  15. It's taking a lot longer than I would prefer. We may have to trim back our catalog if these delays persist. Sorry.
  16. I have all of the tools required, just none of the time required to assist in this case. If that changes, I'll be sure to let the OP know. The DPMS Panther Claw should be in any AR15 owner's tool box.
  17. Warranty is not the issue. Build quality, strength of materials, fire rating, resistance to theft, etc are the issues that separate retail models from specialty models. A retail model may survive a fire for about 20 mins, give or take. It may keep a less-determined thief out. But the stronger models reserved for specialty shops have longer fire ratings and are much more resistant to intrusion. There is a difference between the different grades.
  18. You're not going to get it out of there without a vice if it was put in properly.
  19. Check with Mark over at the Safe House here in Nashville. The Safe House: nashvillesafehouse.com :: Professional Safe Movers, Commercial and Residential Safes, Gun Safes, Safe Rental, Safe Service and Repair, serving Middle Tennessee He's a supporting vendor on TGO, but they also sell safes that are a cut above the stuff you find in retail stores. There's a big difference between the various grades that Cannon makes and sells through specialty shops and through big-box discount stores.
  20. Greatly appreciated. And thanks for the other suggestions too, folks. I'm making notes.
  21. I contacted Warren about the Expo earlier in the fall and he was too busy to consider it. I guess he's making enough money and doesn't need any more business. It sure would be nice if he'd change his mind, because I know we're going to pull a ton of Chattanooga people into the show and right now we've got no one to refer them to in that area.
  22. Welcome! Rec'd your inquiry... will be getting in touch with you tomorrow.
  23. Sell firearms (black rifles, brown rifles, handguns, etc.) and/or archery equipment in or around Chattanooga ... that don't suck. I want to see who else we can reach out to and invite to participate at the Guns & Gear Expo coming up in December. Feel free to either reply in this thread or send me a PM.
  24. Doubt it. Their ritual human sacrifices typically ended with them dumping the bodies in their source of drinking water. Not smart.
