True indeed. This thread really seems to be poised to go downhill. Since I won't be around later to clean it up, I'm locking it now. The OP should probably take from this thread the fact that TGO's members are a little more analytical than most. If the OP wants to resume discussions on the topic, they should start a new thread with less pissing and moaning, and more details, and design the thread such that it is a productive discussion (of some sort). Barring that, it's probably safe to say that the matter has been discussed sufficiently.

Probably because the vast majority of HCP holders on this site are already fairly well equipped to shoot IDPA or USPSA style events without investing into the gear necessary to shoot precision long-range.

Odd. I just noticed that some of the guys fussing about the State of Tennessee using it's own background check system and charging us $10 for it instead of using the Federal Bureau of Investigation's instant check system are the same folks who tout the 10th Amendment as being a giant middle finger at the Government telling them to stay out of Tennessee's business. Seems like picking and choosing to me.

We should all pool our resources, buy some land and operate it as the TGO Gun Club. (But really... how cool would that be?)

BTW... I'm ignoring some of the other comments made in this thread from people who apparently believe that some sort of Forum Socialism is needed to ensure that TGO is given away freely to the point that it cannot even sustain itself.

Times are tough for everyone right now. Grandfathering people into evolutionary changes made to the site really doesn't make sense for several reasons, but I do want to see you able to keep a roof over your head. I've bumped your account with a 1-month Benefactor subscription. Hopefully in that time you can do what you need to do to make things a little easier on yourself financially.

David, don't we have a law office here in middle TN working as part of your network? I know you and I have spoken privately about you advertising here and you sort of left it hanging. Perhaps we need to resume those talks.

To answer the original question... utter and complete lack of time and resources. I'd be willing to broker some sort of arrangement with any organization that wanted to pair up with TGO and produce some USPSA or IDPA (or similar style) events but they'd pretty much have to handle all of the heavy lifting. My schedule has gone from 0-mph to 100-mph in the last month and shows no sign of slowing.

They use it to haul a sentient 1982 Pontiac Firebird also painted up in THP colors. They call the car the Super Highway Interceptor Traffic Transport 2000. The driver seems to be really stuck in the 80's himself, but I hear he's real popular in Germany.

Having two of your own children die sort of polarizes your opinion of celebrity deaths. As in, I don't really find myself phased by the drug-induced death of a celebrity. I really dug Heath Ledger's acting ability but it didn't exactly upset me that he turned up full of more drugs than my local Walgreens either.

Me either. I don't see how sharing this opinion makes you (or me) a bad person. Which could also be a polite (read: CYA) measure on the part of the coroner also. They won't say it was drug related until they know it was drug related. Anyone remember Billy Mays? Natural causes got turned to drug-related several days after the fact. I preferred Billy Mays' work to Brittany's.

It's hard to tell from Moody's myspace camera angles, but I think that model has the Officer frame which is shorter in the grip than the Govt model.
