  1. Writing. And yes, it does matter. Like it or not, people will judge you to an extent on how well you express yourself in written form... especially on the Internet. While that in itself may not matter much, consider that your ability to use proper grammar also carry weight in the business world. If neither of those things concern you... so be it.
  2. If you would take the time to do it that'd be great. I'm a little busy these days.
  3. Could you shorten your signature... a lot? Thanks.
  4. This was originally posted as a rule on CornerCarvers.com and it expresses my feelings on the matter quite succinctly... Message boards are a non-verbal, written mode of communication. It is therefore incredibly important that you use correct spelling and proper grammar when composing your posts. Do not type in all CAPS, its considered shouting and in bad taste. It is also important that you plan out what you intend to say before you post it. Until it is possible for the reader to unscrew your head and read your thoughts, these two things go a long way toward ensuring that what you meant to say and what you actually said are close approximates of one another.
  5. More pics of the Dobie!!
  6. Honestly the wording of the original post comes across as a blatant attempt to sell without being a Benefactor. A college student should have the cognitive skills required to look at the Trading Post forums and see the volume of firearms sold via deals brokered on TGO. It certainly did not require a thread asking it and most importantly did not require a thread listing what you had for sale, asking whether or not they would sell here. Tacky. Very tacky.
  7. Back to the subject at hand... I don't feel like the TBI failed me. Seems that the subject of the thread is a bit melodramatic.
  8. I've seen quite a few men with their trucks or cars shoved nose-first into some ditches the past few days. Maybe if they'd have listened to their wives and stayed home...
  9. If he wants to make a complaint about the "extra layer" of government involved with this state's instant check system, then that complaint can be made without criticizing the TBI employees for doing what most of us did (or wanted to do) when the roads were bad. As it stands, the thread maligns them for closing their offices due to the weather. That's absurd.
  10. Certain jobs come with certain assumed risks. A person that signs up for a job with your local PD or FD should assume that their life will be put in peril at some point or another. A desk clerk at the TBI instant check system? Highly doubt that thought crossed their mind. That said, the comparison you seek to make lacks common sense.
  11. Actually very good graphic novels. Couldn't help but be reminded of them.
  12. or... Maybe the government finally sent the black helicopters after them!!!
  13. So the safety of TBI employees is somehow worth less than the safety of you or your family members? That's what this thread is saying, right? That they should have been made to come in to work despite the dangerous road conditions, or have been forced to stay overnight at work, just so that you could have made a few sales to the idiots who were out driving around in the weather we've had. I think I understand, I just wanted clarification.
  14. I have it on a foot pedal now. I can type and ban at the same time.
  15. It's not really a matter of that but every one helps.
  16. Why would I boot someone for reporting a problem? Anyway... no, it seems to be running pretty good lately but admittedly I've been away a lot because of work. Keeping the server tuned for good response is an ongoing effort, however, because we are constantly pushing the limits of what our current server allows.
  17. On after-hours support rotation, working my ass off. The weather has people whom have never worked from home, working from home.

    iPad

There is already a Citrix app for the iPhone OS. I'm completely onboard with this thing. I've held trying to even think about a Kindle or Nook or Sony reader because I knew it was coming. Now it's here, I'm sold.
  19. In that case... we should start tagging government buildings with our posts. I kid, I kid.
  20. I've purposefully avoided them because I think they look silly and degrade the professional appearance of our forum. They also somewhat portray gun owners as being trigger happy hooligans who view our sidearms as "toys". Tell me honestly... do these smilies portray gun owners as responsible or in a positive light??? I don't think they do at all. I pretty much hate them.
  21. You really should have waited to shoot the coating until after you had the front sight off. Other than that, it looks like you did a good job. Congrats.
  22. Thread title edited. Please use more descriptive titles when starting new threads.

  24. Let's keep this thread topical and keep the religious/political elements out of it.
