TBI failed us all and WE pay their salaries
TGO David replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I've seen quite a few men with their trucks or cars shoved nose-first into some ditches the past few days. Maybe if they'd have listened to their wives and stayed home... -
TBI failed us all and WE pay their salaries

If he wants to make a complaint about the "extra layer" of government involved with this state's instant check system, then that complaint can be made without criticizing the TBI employees for doing what most of us did (or wanted to do) when the roads were bad. As it stands, the thread maligns them for closing their offices due to the weather. That's absurd. -
TBI failed us all and WE pay their salaries

Certain jobs come with certain assumed risks. A person that signs up for a job with your local PD or FD should assume that their life will be put in peril at some point or another. A desk clerk at the TBI instant check system? Highly doubt that thought crossed their mind. That said, the comparison you seek to make lacks common sense. -
Actually very good graphic novels. Couldn't help but be reminded of them.

Wonder what happened at On-Target in Murfreesboro?

So the safety of TBI employees is somehow worth less than the safety of you or your family members? That's what this thread is saying, right? That they should have been made to come in to work despite the dangerous road conditions, or have been forced to stay overnight at work, just so that you could have made a few sales to the idiots who were out driving around in the weather we've had. I think I understand, I just wanted clarification. -
I have it on a foot pedal now. I can type and ban at the same time.

It's not really a matter of that but every one helps.

Why would I boot someone for reporting a problem? Anyway... no, it seems to be running pretty good lately but admittedly I've been away a lot because of work. Keeping the server tuned for good response is an ongoing effort, however, because we are constantly pushing the limits of what our current server allows.

On after-hours support rotation, working my ass off. The weather has people whom have never worked from home, working from home.

There is already a Citrix app for the iPhone OS. I'm completely onboard with this thing. I've held trying to even think about a Kindle or Nook or Sony reader because I knew it was coming. Now it's here, I'm sold.

In that case... we should start tagging government buildings with our posts. I kid, I kid.

I've purposefully avoided them because I think they look silly and degrade the professional appearance of our forum. They also somewhat portray gun owners as being trigger happy hooligans who view our sidearms as "toys". Tell me honestly... do these smilies portray gun owners as responsible or in a positive light??? I don't think they do at all. I pretty much hate them.

You really should have waited to shoot the coating until after you had the front sight off. Other than that, it looks like you did a good job. Congrats.

Let's keep this thread topical and keep the religious/political elements out of it.

Is someone actually military or police?
TGO David replied to TNRobocop's topic in Feedback and Support
It does happen but we try to police it and the forum software has triggers that normally tattles on people when they try it. A persistent person will find a way around almost any locks, so it's not perfect. I say that we've never allowed a Mob-Rule mentality to fly around here and I'm not about to start letting it happen even in regard to people posing as LEO or MIL if they aren't. Should we be equally bent out of shape if people also indicate themselves as being NRA members when they aren't, or a male or a female when they are neither, or having a HCP when they don't, or being deployed when they aren't? I'm not really going to sweat the petty things like the unverified icons that we have. I suppose we could just ditch them entirely, but it seems a bit unfair to punish the majority because of the sins of the minority. So I guess we'll keep them around for now. Besides... people invariably expose themselves as posers if they are chatty enough. It should be fairly easy for folks to determine who the real deal is. -

You're not .MIL until you are sworn in and wear the uniform. -
Not a bad looking plate. I like it.

Folks I just don't have time to organize this anymore. That, combined with the wild goose chase trying to find locations have lead me to just stop thinking about it. If someone else earnestly wants to try to organize this, I'll be happy to make the introductions with Chris Costa @ Magpul Dynamics and let you take it over.

Just upload the pics to a hosting site like Photobucket.com and then use the links that they provide to post it to forums to post it here.

While I don't like it when supporters gang up on non supporters, there's no denying that supporters are the lifeblood of a good forum. Everyone else benefits from their generosity so as a result an attitude of "superiority" can develop over time if not kept in check. I think GT has suffered from it not being kept in check. Edited to add... sorry, hit submit before finishing my thought.

I didn't demean anyone. I said his statement was stupid. I didn't say he was stupid, although I do have questions about anyone's capacity for rational thought when they make a statement as stupid as that one was. But that's beside the point. If a person can't stand having their stupid comments called out, then they shouldn't make stupid comments in the first place. Or at least not on a forum where people are marginally expected to back up their stupid comments with some sort of supporting evidence other than "HK's cost more money". Seriously, that's like saying wine sucks because it's more expensive than beer. File it under "DUH" and move on to a real argument if you're going to make one, right? And while I'm on a rant, I'm getting kind of tired of the silly +1 replies to threads. Of all the internet memes that bug me, that one probably bugs me the most. I think we need a Facebook-esque feature to denote that you like a comment rather than have silly +1 responses. Can I make a -1 reply? Because that comment about Glocks being superior based on price alone gets a big ass -1 from me.

Jesus... seriously? SERIOUSLY? We're going down that road again? The road where a moderator / admin / "leadership" person can't have an opinion? SERIOUSLY? I'm starting to see why I've enjoyed being so busy elsewhere that I haven't been able to post much here. And it's my own forum. Some of you need to get the sand out and realize that people don't always agree and don't always feel like candy coating their opinions.
