  1. Whenever we do upgrades or compact the database, post count is updated to reflect actual number of posts still in the database.
  2. It sounds like you're the only guy I've heard of who essentially wants the stock Glock sights.
  3. It sounds to me that you need to work on the basics of sight alignment and trigger control. It is easy for someone to describe the mechanics of this on the Internet (or in a book) but it's often difficult for a person to read and process it. A person with good mastery of the fundamental mechanics and an instructor's heart will be able to help you get your shots on paper without much problem. Keep in mind that not all competent shooters make good instructors. Some folks can't teach. The basics are simple: 1. Line up your sights 2. Squeeze the trigger (don't pull it) while keeping the sights lined up. Smooth, controlled follow through. It doesn't matter if the target is 10 feet or 100 feet away from you. If you do these two things, the only difficulty in hitting the target is what's going on between your ears.
  4. All things are subjective of course, but seriously the .40SW cartridge really doesn't have that much kick. Take your big-boy pill and get used to it.
  5. Yeah, the hosting company got wise to my server tweaks and has clamped back down on our resource utilization. I've started shopping around for a dedicated host.
  6. I love it when newbies don't read the rules, then bitch when someone calls them on it. Ignorance of the law is no defense. /thread
  7. Still illegal.
  8. Ugly isn't part of the equation here. Dressing like a carnival sideshow attraction is. If you do the latter, you're probably going to end up with an awesome job like being the guy who scrapes the floor at a meat packing plant. Ugly people get good jobs all the time. I'm proof.
  9. That's a pretty narrow-minded statement. What about white collar crimes? I believe that once a person has paid their debt to society, their rights should be reinstated. I guess you believe that once a person makes a mistake, they should be punished for the remainder of their natural life. Pray you never slip up.
  10. As promised, I have checked into this. Gunpal presently does not have an integration module that works with vBulletin but they say they are working on it. I have reason to believe they will carry through on this statement since (a.) they use vBulletin for their own support forum and (b.) many large firearms related sites use vBulletin as the basis of their forums.
  11. This would likely result in charges being filed against you for theft or some other similar transgression. Being that it is a firearm, that could end up becoming a Federal issue. Next time, use a credit or debit card. The CC companies will generally go to bat for you if something is wrong with your purchase. It's sad that you mention this was from an established dealer, especially if this dealer has a brick and mortar store somewhere. That doesn't reflect well on them.
  12. It's a Kahr... not a Springfield.
  13. You're pretty much stuck taking it up with the manufacturer. This is why I hate gun shows.
  14. You can get pissed all you want, but Tennessee is an "at will" state, therefore the only reason they have to give you is "because". Because why, doesn't matter. Just because. Because ...we don't need you anymore ...you suck at your job ...you suck at life ...you smell funny ...no one here likes you ...you wear plaid too much ...etc That said, if you look like someone who should probably be working the graveyard shift at Denny's (or just in a graveyard for that matter) you can probably expect to land those kinds of jobs. That's just life.
  15. I really wish this stigma would just die, but it never will as long as people keep making comments like this. I had a chance to meet the TR guys at the last Guns & Gear Expo -- including James Yeager -- and found them all to be very professional and personable. Training classes of almost any type, be it firearms, martial arts, automotive repair or pottery painting, will each have aspects that don't appeal to every student. It's incumbent upon each of us to take away from whatever class we attend the tools that "make sense" to us and leave behind the ones we don't care for. Case in point: I've attended several CIS classes now and no one has caught me wearing Tactical Slippers yet.
  16. Some questions are just better asked offline.
  17. It would require a gubernatorial pardon. I seem to remember something coming out of Nashville within the past year or two (perhaps from the AG) saying that restoration of firearms ownership pretty much was not a possibility, for whatever reason. I know that's vague but I honestly can't remember the specifics. Maybe one of our resident legal beagles will chime in.
  18. No.
  19. I refinished a friend (and fellow TGO member)'s Springfield MC Operator with Norrell's Moly Resin. Worked great.
  20. Site should be nice and fast right now. I made changes that will either get us kicked off of the server or prove to be the last level that I can bump it up to before we have to go to a dedicated host. If you try to hit TGO and can't in a few days... it was the former and not the latter. Cross your fingers.
  21. Got anything that needs to be sighted in?
  22. Agreed, but when you post something that someone could just glance at and assume, "Oh boy! There's going to be a tour for TGO Memphis members!!!" without first checking to be sure that's an OK idea with the company owners... you sew the seeds of confusion. Check first. Get approval. Then post it. The first two steps should involve private communication between you and the other party.
  23. No offense, but a Taurus 1911... while a decent firearm... is not exactly the paramount of 1911 build quality and the manufacturer has a really horrible reputation when it comes to warranty issues and after-the-sale support.
