  1. Josey, I really don't understand how you came to get so much sand in your shorts... but it seems to me that you should consider switching to decaf.
  2. Welcome, Marco. It's a pleasure to have you with us.
  3. Deleting your posts after you make them is pretty silly. Unless you've changed your opinion on the matter, of course. Otherwise, why not just stand behind what you have to say?
  4. Common myth. Leaving them loaded doesn't affect them. It's the cycling between compressed and uncompressed that fatigues a spring over time.
  5. Ugh. No offense meant to anyone who owns them but... I was supposed to do a review of one of these last year for a gun shop who wanted me to do a write-up. Myself and Todd from CIS took it out and ran about 100 rds through it and neither of us cared for it at all. There are plenty of better firearms out there for not much more coin. My review was pretty fair and unbiased, but I was asked not to post a write-up about it using their firearm after I declined to say good things about the gun. So much there not to like.
  6. It is not uncommon for mass produced 1911s to need their chamber reamed out to SAAMI spec to cure failures to feed. If that's all they are doing, I would rest easy. That said... why the hell do people take their guns to places they've never dealt with before and THEN ask if it was a good idea? Seems bassackwards to me. Logic would seem to dictate that you would ask for a referral first and then act on what you learned. Oh well. Good luck.
  7. Eh... I have owned a P220 and a P220 SAO in the past and still have all of my 1911's. They are nice guns for sure, but still not my cup of tea. JMB got it right.
  8. Had to be a GlockTalk member.
  9. It's all about tough love on TGO.
  10. Thankfully I'm off today. We actually do on-call rotations (the cycle for which is too short, IMO) but I've also built a lot of new servers lately and have been fielding calls related to them by virtue of the fact that they are so new. I'd say that 9 of every 10 calls is a person assuming that the new server must be the cause of a problem, but I still have to dig and determine that this is the case before I hand it off to someone else to work. *sigh* Change is good, right?
  11. I'd post in the domestics subforum. Lots of Lightning owners already do.
  12. Honestly I think she'd prefer appendix carry instead of SOB. My wife carries a J-frame like this and it seems to work great for her.
  13. Nicely done! You know, I run another forum you might like... Tennesspeed.net
  14. I know but I'm not telling.
  15. Well it wasn't exactly quick but you're welcome none the less. Thanks for the support for TGO.
  16. Probably not a good time to say that we just found out my wife is expecting, huh? But I showed it to her anyway.
  17. PO Box has been checked. Anyone who had sent payment by USPS in the past week or two has been updated here on TGO now. I have also corrected the information at the bottom of the Premium Membership signup page to explain the need to alert me when payments are being sent by USPS. Sadly that information was lost along the way during one of the many upgrades I've done to the forum. I'm sorry for the delay but I simply cannot express adequately how busy I have been the past few months without it seeming like an impossible exaggeration. My free time has literally been reduced to sleeping hours (give or take) and what little I've had lately has been guarded jealously for my family's sake. Hopefully this schedule will slow down some. I've also picked up a new personal laptop and broadband wireless card so that hopefully I can get back into the loop during lunch at work. When I get lunch.
  18. Honestly I think you and these supposed few others are the only ones who see whatever problem you think exists. None of the moderators really even understand where you're coming from. Personally, I think you're a bit weird, but it's a free country and weird keeps things interesting.
  19. I haven't been yet. Want the key? I can tell you where the PO Box is. Better yet... I'll let you be on call for me at work so I'll have time to do things like drive to the PO, spend time with my family, keep in top of everything going on here on TGO, spend time with my family, etc. Did I mention spend time with my family? The good news for you is that I'm off work today so I'll be stopping by the PO at some point. Before I go back to work tomorrow. But I plan on spending some time with my family first.
  20. Do these guys know that you group them in with yourself? Are they happy about that?
  21. As I said, it used to be there. Apparently it was lost in one of the countless software upgrades I've done over the past year.
  22. TGO David

    Should I?

Look the motley assortment of dweebs telling you to keep it black and do the right thing. Paint it Cool Kid Tan.
  23. No ****? Really? Which one did you write? People who make statements like this are the reason why I have so little patience for "religious" conversations. WWJD, Patty... WWJD?
  24. Guys, there used to be a notice on the payments page that if you were sending by mail to be sure and PM me ahead of time so I'd know to look for it. This doesn't come to my house; it comes to a PO box. I only go over there once in a blue moon unless I know I'm expecting something. I'll go look today and find out. I'll also check and make sure the payment page has something about this for folks who send things via USPS in the future, if it's not already there.
