  1. No harm in asking. Unless you hate our collective sense of humor.
  2. Taken from: Military Times Gear Scout Spike’s Tactical has released a muzzle device with an interesting twist. The S.T.A.B. (Spike’s Tactical Muzzle Break) is designed to direct the muzzle blast forward on short-barreled carbines. The idea of firing a short-barreled weapon indoors or from inside vehicles can be painful. With a muzzle device that directs the blast forward, your teammates will thank you, and so will your eardrums. One of the drawbacks to shorter barrels is that they often can be more finicky with ammunition. The S.T.A.B. creates back pressure to aid in reliability. What makes this device stand out from others is the ability to adjust the interior cone position, which creates more or less back pressure, and can adjust your rate of fire. Spike’s Tactical CEO Tom Miller says that every 16 clicks increases or decreases the rate of fire by 14 RPM. With a feature like this, you should be able to dial in whatever ammo you happen to favor. Click the picture for more information, and for a stack of additional pictures. From Spike’s Tactical: The Spike’s Tactical Adjustable Break is an adjustable muzzle break designed to be used in a short barrel CQB application. It directs the blast downrange! The most common problem with short barrels is the lack of back pressure they need to cycle. You can adjust the back pressure up or down until you find that “sweet spot” your 7-10 inch upper needs to cycle properly. Machined from 303 stainless steel, while the cone of the the S.T.A.B is machined from an ULTRA high temp proprietary alloy. Adjustable by hand with no tools. Can be broken down for cleaning with no tools. Spring-loaded collar on the the S.T.A.B is wavy to achieve firm adjustment clicks. In testing, every 16 clicks decreased the rate of fire by 14 RPM. We have put thousands and thousands of rounds through the S.T.A.B. and have yet been able to burn one up! Coated inside and out (except for the cone) with Melonite, for corrosion resistance and durability. Size – OD is 1.37. OAL is 3.14. Weight is 10 ounces, or 284 grams. Made in the USA.
  3. Breaking with my normal tradition of not engaging in religious conversations... Seems pretty accurate.
  4. I can't even imagine how that phone conversation would go. Citizen: Hello, State Police? Hi. I'm going to be in your state next week and I wanted you to know that I'm going to have a gun with me. Kthanx. {click} State Police: Aw sh*t ... put out a BOLO for Leonard Embody. Apologies to the original poster. I'm not making fun of you, promise.
  5. No no no no... you don't have to do anything special. Your permit is valid in KY. Go forth and enjoy the Bluegrass State. Just keep it out of places that are licensed as BARS. Places that serve alcohol and food, like Logan's, Chilis, etc. are all good to go as Kentucky has common sense and allows people to go armed in such places provided that they don't imbibe themselves.
  6. Performance issues... meaning that the systems weren't initially scaled large enough to handle the amount of data collected. Ok, so? It's not like it will be difficult to add more resources.
  7. If there's any merit to this thread, it's worth starting a new one centered around whatever it is. Closing this.
  8. Not locally. I bought a rather large bottle the last time I ordered so that I wouldn't be in that predicament again. You might recommend it to the guys down at On-Target or Outpost Armory and see if one of them will start stocking it.
  9. They're going to to start embedding them at birth when they circumcise the male children. Female children won't be bothered with because soon the government will repeal women's right to vote.
  10. As with most things like this, I don't see the big deal unless they are collecting your fingerprint and you've never been fingerprinted before. If they are just temporarily using it as a comparison tool, no big deal. Anyone in Tennessee who has a HCP has already been fingerprinted and it is on file with the State.
  11. If it caught the rapist who attacked your daughter, who was flying under the radar using a fake ID... would you be upset?
  12. You narrowly escaped trademark violation charges. Glocks are the only guns that are supposed to shoot you in the ass.
  13. You're set if a playing card ever tries to attack you!
  14. That's considered to be brandishing and would land you in hot water in Tennessee. Really, really bad thing to do. Never produce your weapon until you are at the point of using it. Ever.
  15. 5.11 Tactical pants have pretty deep pockets. Only girls (and boys who want to be girls) wear "Skinny Jeans" ... and you can leave my Lawrence of Arabia pants out of this.
  16. Yeah... today is the most I've surfed TGO in a single day for quite a while.
  17. Dead before they can do you any harm is better. If you're pulling that off with a 22LR then more power to you.
  18. I've inquired of Alan @ A-Holster to see if he can make one. If he can't, I may invest in some kydex and try my hand at it. It doesn't look too terribly difficult.
  19. I was taking Mucinex DM just to be able to breathe. Now I'm taking Zyrtec to keep it from drowning me. Maybe I need to pop some Claritin.
  20. I've put in enough overtime hours last week to make up for my being absent today thankfully.
  21. It's say to say, but being home sick today has provided me with the most opportunities to surf TGO than I've had in the past three months. Friday I started noticing that my eyes were watering and then I started sneezing a lot. Allergies. Great. By Saturday evening I was feeling really lousy but I went ahead and attended a wine tasting event with some friends here on TGO. Yesterday, I was doing a little better - or so I thought. I was back in bed before 8pm and had the worst sinus headache I've had in recent memory. After that my nose ran like a faucet all night. Woke up this morning and could barely speak. They say we've had so much rain and snow this winter that we're going to have one of the most vibrant, green Springs that we've had in Tennessee in recent memory. I concur. My allergies concur. But on a positive note, I'm catching up on my forum-reading.
  22. I don't concern myself with bigger, I concern myself with better. Better is usually most adequately expressed in terms of ballistic performance. The 9mm is typically better than the .380 in that regard.
  23. lol... understood.
  24. Indeed they will. I've got several laying around from when I used to own a 40c and my ex-wife had a 9c. Truth be told, it was worth parting with that gun to get rid of her. I don't anticipate using the finger extensions with this one, however. It works better in my pocket with the low-profile base plates.
