  1. Popcorn Sutton's shine is legendary. Do want!
  2. Some things I've enjoyed as of late. Share your own. 1. Glenfiddich 18 year old single malt scotch. 'Nuff said 2. Kilo Kai Spiced Rum. It'd be an insult to mix this with anything. It needs to be savored all on its own. 3. Tito's Handmade Vodka. Absolutely amazing. Barely a smell, and absolutely the cleanest taste with only a hint of wood at the tale end. Again, this needs to be savored all on its own.
  3. It's like almost anything else. You can get your toes wet for cheap... but once you dive in, it's gets expensive quick.
  4. I have not measured it. FWIW, the new Apex Hardened Sear is suppose to be the bee's knees and preferred over the setup that I have by the folks who have gone both routes. I figure I'll pick up the Apex kit for my compact sooner or later.
  5. Actually I spent in excess of $1500 on my setup, not including the two-stage shop compressor and air-water separator that I already had. Every single piece of what I used to spray the finish was pro-grade sourced from either body shop supply houses (the HVLP gun) or from detail-trim supply (the Paasche pro-grade air brush). I still have the digital temperature control unit that I bought to build the oven with. I'd gladly part with it.
  6. I don't think Bronker is going to be a whole lot of help down there.
  7. Yep. Dudes with big hands have big fingers, and generally enlarged nostrils.
  8. You need smaller hands.
  9. I'm holding on any mods to the TGO forum for the moment. Software upgrades are imminent.
  10. If you want to do it right, invest in a media blasting cabinet, a good spray gun / air brush, respirator mask and other assorted supporting items. Your quest for cheap doesn't instill the idea that you're looking for good, however.
  11. It's just sad that so many 1911 manufacturers feel the need to use the slide as their own personal billboard. Huge roll marks, FTL.
  12. We are getting closer and closer to bacon-infused saline solution, suitable for IV use.
  13. Ooo, look! Someone's never had a slam fire happen to them!!! Wrong. It's stupid and not the right way to top it off for +1 carry. PS: I'm just curious... do people ever feel bad later about perpetuating bad practices when they get smart and realize the error of their former ways? Because if they do, you should come back when you figure it out and amend the post you made.
  14. First, sorry you had to find out this way. Second, just because everyone else is doing it, it doesn't make it any smarter.
  15. Ah. So what you're saying is that the media found yet another dumb ass to make the rest of us look bad. Gotcha.
  16. A fact which is absolutely irrelevant as well. Which part of what I said didn't you understand? If I undertake to do this on my own again rather than outsource it, I am going to offer one color hat for the sake of simplicity. It will most likely be the khaki hat since that color was the most popular and is fairly "uni-sex".
  17. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Firstly, you do not have to use TGO as a means to assist those in need. The American Red Cross has a system whereby you can text "REDCROSS" to 90999 and make a $10.00 donation. IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE... If you are a TGO member and either you or your family or friends need assistance, you may post in this thread with a brief summary of what sort of basic human help would be most beneficial. If the need is for clothes, household goods, food, shelter, and so-forth, post that. If you desire privacy, you may PM the request to Mrs. Tungsten (my wife) and she will coordinate. IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE... Post or PM what sort of assistance you are willing to provide. Be sure to indicate what your limit(s) are in respect to the number of items, amount of food, etc. We do not want to overburden anyone. If you want to contribute financially for the purchase of grocery gift cards (i.e. Kroger, Wal-mart) then by all means you may do so. Contact us for information on how this can be arranged. Thanks!
  18. Exactly.
  19. And this is precisely why I don't really want to get back into it. Everyone wants something different. I'm not going down that road again. IF I produce them quarterly, there will be one style of hat and one style of shirt in different sizes. If you don't like the style of hat or shirt, you don't have to buy.
  20. Keep in mind that many of the people who left animals behind didn't have a choice in the matter. One of my wife's co-workers was informed by rescue workers that she could bring her baby, but not their dog, onto a rescue boat. They finally caved when she refused to budge.
  21. Don't be stupid. We had a store available last year before you came along. Unfortunately I just don't have the time necessary to stay on top of order fulfillment. I'm still casually looking around for a company that can take that duty off of my hands and also provide quality gear to you all. The rub is quality. There are plenty of places like CafePress that will put your logo on something, but the quality is horrible. What I *MAY* do soon is take orders for a batch of hats again. Or a batch of shirts. Or both. If it works out, I'll try to do it quarterly.
  22. Agreed. If I am put in the situation where I have to use deadly force to survive the encounter, I am going to shoot to eliminate the threat. If they die as a result of their aggression and my duty for self-preservation, then that's an unfortunate result of their actions.
  23. I'll tell you what I have noticed lately.... it's that on certain other forums comprised of a significant number of active military and other "industry professionals" who live and die by the gun daily, it's better to listen more than you post. You should ask them what they think of Olbermann.
  24. On one hand you will have companies closing their doors as the result of lost profit and lost production. On the other hand you will have people who were already out of work going into full swing again as the result of the reconstruction that will be necessary. There have been countless skilled tradespeople sitting on the sidelines because no one was building or renovating homes or commercial structures. Car sales will likely boom as the result of insurance payouts. All of that office equipment that was lost to flood water will have to be replaced. Debris will need to be cleared away. Etc and so forth. Does it suck? Yes. But it will suck more for people who refuse to adapt and innovate. Your job yesterday may not be your job next week.
