  1. You might be able to donate it to a local trade school that has either a mechanics or auto body class. Often they will come and get them.
  2. Now that you can select between a few variations on the TGO look and feel by scrolling to the bottom of any TGO page and choosing from the drop-down menu, which one are you using?

Sorry... probably not a feature I'll be adding back in. It wasn't a bandwidth hog but it did open several security holes, which couldn't be ignored.
  4. Shoot your computer once it's done. You don't want to leave any witnesses.
  5. lol... I get away with saying a lot worse things in person at work because I'm usually unable to keep a straight face while doing it. And thanks for the kind words. I appreciate that you guys enjoy the forum. That's what matters the most.
  6. Thanks Sgt. Joe. That's unfortunate for them that the upgrade didn't go off well. It's all about planning.
  7. Sorry, I was just being funny... sarcastic, but funny. I still haven't been able to replicate the problem.
  8. <-- Wishes he had gone into your career path!
  9. Weird, guys. I just cannot replicate this problem on any of my Windows 7 machines or my Mac.
  10. I'm looking at a few different options for this. Stay tuned.
  11. As much as I like my 1911s, you're rarely ever going to find me carrying one anymore. The G19 rides along way more often than not.
  12. I'm not even sure how to approach this without sounding like a complete smart-ass, but... so you have to press a key twice. That finger gets to burn twice as many calories as the other fingers. Soon, that finger will have an amazing physique and the rest of the fingers will be jealous. Use your middle finger for that extra clicking and you'll have a magnificent specimen to use when giving people the bird. Or.... use the navigation bar at the top of the screen and click once to jump up a level in the forum hierarchy.
  13. The file in question is part of the Facebook Connect feature. Honestly by running Dialup, you're slower than the lowest common denominator for 99.99999% of those who connect to TGO. I wish I could help you, but I can't make any changes to the server to fix that.
  14. Freaking sweet. Now if you could get your department to allow cocked and locked carry...
  15. I did not participate at the East Flank Park location but I was there on Saturday for about 4 hours (Carnton) and stopped by East Flank momentarily to check out a rig someone had on their FJ Cruiser.
  16. Well you should stop doing it from this point forward. It's not only not a good idea, it's a really bad idea. There is nothing in the firing pin channel that requires lubrication. Dropping oil in there WILL eventually lead to a failure to fire.
  17. Dropping oil into the firing in hole on a Glock is a huge no-no. Glocks do not require much oil at all and I really see no reason to oil the feed ramp, but certainly NEVER the firing pin hole.

    Idiot Scratch

I'd think that buffing that spot sufficient to remove the scar will result in a spot that is shinier than the rest of the frame.
  19. *sigh* Strel, please try to get along with folks and stop pushing people's buttons. I'm having a really hard time believing that you aren't here just to argue with people and amuse yourself. The more I become convinced that this is the case, the more I feel that your stay with us is drawing to an end.
  20. IF... If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. /thread
  21. I'm not sure our Hand Wringer in Chief could handle the implications of our Armed Forces taking the kid gloves off.

    Bad English

I haven't read the thread in its entirety yet, but in case no one else pointed this out... you did improve your surroundings. You moved to America.
  23. Agreed. As for carrying a full-size 1911, keep in mind that most folks have no problem concealing the length of the slide; it's the length of the grip that protrudes and causes telltale "printing". If you are going to carry a heavier weapon, the key to your success is to view your holster and belt selection as an entire platform and not just individual pieces. Namely, select both as purpose-driven components of their ultimate combination. A good holster paired with a sturdy purpose-built gunbelt will allow to carry almost anything without fatigue and with better chances for concealment. I use a Milt Sparks VM2 and a 1.5-inch double layer cow-hide belt from The Belt Man, and can carry my 5-inch 1911 all day under a loose t-shirt or polo-shirt without fatigue or "being made" by anyone. Someone here already mentioned that they are using a Galco for this. I'm surprised they are having any success based on my previous experiences with Galco's mass-produced, flimsy, loose gun leather. Maybe they've improved their product since I last looked at any of it, though. With holsters and belts, you really do get what you pay for and it's typically not cheap to get something really good. But then again, if you trade guns frequently, this may not be for you.
  24. I've got two. Both are extremely meaningful to me. I've been tempted lately to go back for another. As they say, once you start, you'll find yourself needing to scratch the itch again and again.
