  1. Arko, I hate that it didn't work out for you in Tennessee. To ease the transition a little, I'm going to gift you with a 1-month Benefactor membership so that you can perhaps move some of your surplus firearms and make it a little easier to rustle up some cash. Good luck to you and yours.
  2. A smart man keeps his work life and his personal life as far apart as the east is from the west. It took me several tries to figure this one out. Your mileage may vary, but I find it's much more enjoyable and less stressful when I keep my head down, work like hell, do my job and socialize when I'm off the clock and away from people who might be jockeying for a promotion.
  3. FTF and Glock 19 are two phrases you typically never heard in the same sentence before. This a sad surprise.
  4. I think this thread has served its purpose -- if it even had one. Some good points have been made about the onus being on the seller to verify that they are getting a fair shake. It's not up to the buyer to offer top dollar. Were that the case, it could be said that we need to totally change the way we do things in the Classifieds here on TGO. From this point forward, everyone should negotiate the price UP on any firearm that they wish to purchase. If the seller is asking $500, offer them $600 just to be moral and ethical.
  5. Obviously it matters or I wouldn't have asked.
  6. Silly ancillary question, but do any of you guys have a clue what a firearm like this would be worth?
  7. This specimen belongs to my father in law. It was his grandfather's and was carried as a service pistol either in WWI or WWII. He could not recall what he was told, perhaps someone with more knowledge of such things can shed some light. Regardless, this old war horse has clearly seen some years. Enjoy.
  8. Did the OP bother calling or emailing the shop's management or is the goal here to just drive away their business?
  9. Never heard of it.
  10. Search the forum. We have supporting Vendors here who do this type of thing. One has even posted in this thread.
  11. Wasn't the cat. Your house haunted.
  12. This thread seems to be somewhat irrelevant now since the OP has already visited their shop. I think MacGyver's last post is a great one to end on. Thanks.
  13. No, I ended up having to do some things for work last night so I didn't get a chance. Hopefully this evening.
  14. Just for the record, we keep it clean here. Please keep that in mind.
  15. Been tied up with other things today but I hope to be able to get this added in tonight before I call it a day. There's still a little time left.
  16. I'd say that is a safe guess.
  17. Interesting. I may have to go hold one of these after the rush to be first is over and see if it feels any better to me than the Gen 3.
  18. THIS... I can add. I'll do it this evening or tomorrow. I just need to find the code.

    Off-Road 4x4

I had a Grand Cherokee for several years. I both loved and hated that truck. The 4.0L inline six is quite possibly one of the smoothest, torque-iest six cylinders that I've ever owned. The internal balance on that engine is perfect. It also is the reason I hated the truck, because no matter how much the rest of it was falling apart, that engine just wouldn't die and give me the ultimate reason I needed to part ways with it. The latest incarnation of the JGC really looks like Jeep is trying to return to producing a sport ute with amenities as well as some capabilities off road. It'd be nice to see the JGC become a little less "Mall Rated" if you know what I mean. Strec, my latest TOY is a 2010 Toyota FJ Crusier Trail Teams that I'm presently in the motions of installing a 3" suspension lift and various pieces of trail armor on. If you ask the solid front-axle crowd, they'll try to tell you it's not a real offroad vehicle either. A man of your various social leanings and heritage should ditch that Exploder and go with something like this instead. Edited to add.... Screw that. I want one now.

Sorry dude... that's not an offroad vehicle.
  21. No, not really. Unless you're saying it says something about the fact that some people will draw conclusions based off of the damndest things.
  22. Delete your browser cookies and try it again. This is not normal but it is specific to something on your computer.
  23. Trigem, I appreciate your zeal. However just as not many of our members go to their respective churches to talk about guns, not many of them come here to talk about religion either. It's amazing enough that we [mostly] get along here talking about political issues. While I'm certain that many of us here are indeed Christians, I am not so certain discussion will remain even-keeled if people start engaging in dissection of one another's doctrinal beliefs. Thanks.
