  1. Sadly nothing fun caused this.
  2. Was fun. We had some other errands to attend to this afternoon so we just got home about 20 minutes ago. I promptly changed the VZ Alien grips off of my Frankenkimber and threw my Alumagrips back on it. After driving around all afternoon with it riding IWB, my side was rubbed just about raw from the grips.
  3. Afraid you'll melt? Same here. It's not supposed to rain much if any this afternoon. It's perfect weather to be outside. Not hot, no glare to deal with right now... a pleasant Fall day. We'll be there unless a storm rolls in with some lightning.
  4. It's a shame you have a nice 1911 in such a crap holster.
  5. Yep. It's best to draw really, really fast if you do this though. If you draw slowly it hurts more.
  6. If I had to choose one and only one, it would be the 23. The 27 is only more concealable if you plan on carrying it in your pocket. I have zero problems concealing my Glock 19 (same size as the 23) IWB and it is far more enjoyable to shoot than my 26 which I pocket-carry. Do the 23. You won't regret it.
  7. Ah, Bob Pope has been around forever. Used to run a series of gun shows... got out of that business and sold them off to RK Shows I think. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. His heart is in the right place but he's not the best ambassador for firearms ownership in Tennessee in my personal opinion. Daniel (mod) and I had a brief discussion with him at one of the restaurant carry hearings in Nashville last year and suffice it to say that his grasp on some of the laws already on the books wasn't all that great. From that standpoint it's good that he is often no more than arms length from John Harris when at public events. John can correct what Bob gets wrong. Other than that, I have had no dealings with him. First impressions are kind of hard to get over.
  8. Watch it with her sister.
  9. Back when Joe and I were trying to get the Guns & Gear Expo off the ground I had invited Brommeland to be a vendor at the show. To put it short, the guy was a total dick. I'll carry my gun by duct taping it to my testicles before I ever give him any of my money. YMMV.
  10. Quite true. I've been carrying my G26 in an A-Holster pocket rig for the past week. Love it.
  11. Milt Sparks Versa Max II. /thread
  12. Despite all the posturing in this thread who feel that anything less than a 9mm is incapable of inflicting more than a minor bruise, the fact remains that the best pocket gun is the one that you'll actually carry with you. If a .380 ACP is light enough for you to carry comfortably, is small enough to fit your pocket, purse, knickers, or whatever, then that is the right gun for you. I'd welcome some of the folks who feel that a .32 ACP is too small to do any good to stand in front of one and let the operator empty the magazine into them. If they are able to just walk it off and avoid a trip to the hospital, I'll eat my hat.
  13. If you find yourself in a self-defense situation chances are you'll be aware of it when the "BG" is within conversation distance. He's not going to be paying attention to your laser sight enough for it to be a deterrent. Further, there won't likely be enough time for it to register as a deterrent in the first place, and your firearm shouldn't be out of its holster for deterrent purposes anyway. The purpose of the laser sight is to augment your ability to put rounds on target without having to rely on your iron sights. Your LCP is a "get off me" gun, which means that if you're using it you are in a desperate fight for your life trying to get someone's ass off of you. You might be on your back, you might be hunched over from having been stabbed, you may be taking blows to the head and shoulders from an iron pipe... or any other manner of really bad situations where you've got a few seconds left to either live or die. In those situations, it may be impossible to use your iron sights so the laser dot may be your only effective way of putting rounds where they count. Just saying.
  14. The poll wasn't a vote for or against doing anything, it was just an attempt on my part to get some feedback. I'm glad you'll still participate despite the fact.
  15. I duct tape it to my back.
  16. Revision Eyewear Regular price $99. On sale for $79.
  17. NICE.
  18. You can remove the lock entirely using basic hand tools and about 20 minutes of your own time.
  19. The OP isn't a LEO from what I gather. He was a participant in the citizen's police academy. This isn't an unusual event at these courses from what I've seen and heard.
  20. Sadly we stayed in Albuquerque both nights that we were passing through NM. The second time we were coming back down US 550 from Colorado and passed through Bernalillo before picking up I-25. I really liked what I saw of Bernalillo, so you are correct that NM isn't all bad. And I liked the Sandia Peak park too. I just wasn't big on Albuquerque at all. Too many cholos running around in ABQ.
  21. You kind of seemed to like it.
  22. No, not my desk chair. I was wanting something that looked like ballistic nylon or old military canvas and it really didn't look like either. I guess in that sense I'm kind of like a web-developer Johnny Depp. I make some real bad stuff in between things people actually like.
  23. Thank you. I was hoping that the subtlety of the new design would grow on folks as it's grown on me for the past few weeks of using it behind the scenes.
  24. Model Mayhem. The guy who started it is a huge pain in Internet Brands' ass, which makes him my kind of guy.
  25. Day early, but indeed.
