  2. Monthly Statistics for November 2010 Total Visits: 276,549 Avg Visits Per Day: 9,218 Max Visits Per Day: 62,339 Busiest Days: Nov 19th and 20th
  3. I'll dig up some stats. It's pretty amazing, even to me.
  4. General Class operator here. Do it. HamTestOnlineâ„¢ - Ham Radio Exam Courses <-- AWESOME resource and you'll pass the real test with flying colors if you use this.
  5. I've found lots of valuable things by mistake. Hopefully you'll feel the same way about this forum and keep coming back now that you know where we are.
  6. Apologies to anyone who saw some language being used and was offended by it. This wasn't the fault of anyone in the chat room at the time. The word filter that I had set up was totally misfiring and was inserting forbidden words when users were typing numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). I was alerted to this by one of the members and fixed it as quickly as I could.
  7. Willis68, I have a copy of the Source Book on CD that you can have. I doubt seriously I'll ever use it.
  8. It's new and still in the works. It's a new version of the app that we had once before. The author has made some improvements to the security of it, so I felt a little more comfortable about running it again.
  9. Bravo Company Machine (Bravo Company USA, Inc. AR-15, M16, M4 Tactical Gear, Parts, Accessories.) has some of the best put together, most competitively priced uppers right now.
  10. Sucks, dude. I've found that a nice scotch takes the edge off of days like that.
  11. My 14 year old daughter shoots my 1911 all the time. The only sore body part is my thumb from loading her mags. /thread
  12. Springfield 1911s are fine weapons. Enjoy!
  13. Always bring more than enough gun. If you're preparing for a fair fight, your tactics suck.
  14. Jon, some of your points are Internet folklore. Particularly the item of bigger holes. If I could put more rounds into a vital area, faster and with more accuracy, from a caliber that is fractions of an inch smaller ... Or put one insignificantly larger hole into the same area but with less speed, accuracy or potential for a quick follow up shot... Guess which one is more effective. Anyone who choses size over efficiency and effectiveness is missing the point from a tactical perspective. Sorry.
  15. Welcome to TGO. As there are so many members close to where you live, I would recommend attending one of the organized shoots sometime soon and getting your hands on as many different makes and models as you can. Gun shops are full of slightly used firearms that people bought based off of looks or preconceived ideas, only to find out that they didn't work well for them. You can avoid being that guy by trying as many beforehand as possible.
  16. You spend enough time plugging your shop, it's amazing the Vendors who are currently supporting the site aren't pissed. Here's a good link on proper lubrication of an AR-15... and it's not on CCA's facebook page. Educational Zone #49 - Cleaning & Lubricating an AR15 Rifle - Page 1
  17. It's always fun to put them together, but unfortunately they multiply like rabbits.
  18. You know, you and I are on the same page. But frankly, I'm getting to where I'm cool with it if other people want to make fun and go through life ill-equipped or harboring silly notions of how simplistic and one-dimensional self defense encounters are. Because sooner or later the zombies are really going to overrun the world and these people are going to be food. And when that happens, I'd rather be up against a bunch of ill-equipped zombies than a bunch of zombies with good weapons.
  19. Never... ever... EVER put oil in or swap the inside of your gas tube. EVER. Other than that, AR's love to run wet.
  20. I guarantee I'm getting more FPS out of my 10.5" Noveske braked AR than you're likely getting out of your handgun.
  21. Eh... I carry a handgun during my daily walk because I can't carry my carbine. This.
  22. Interesting and very subtle. I'll be waiting to see the finished product.
  23. Well, just to be fair... once we start talking about IWB or OWB carry, the Kahr family loses their luster for me and I start thinking about other weapons with higher round count rather than slim profiles. I don't even carry a 1911 much at all anymore for this reason alone.
