  1. Gotta watch out for those gun toting grandmothers!
  2. Welcome to the zoo.
  3. I think I've seen Timmy hanging out at some of the local shooting ranges too.
  4. Guess it's a good thing that my in-laws went home last evening instead of staying another night. They'd have had to run Hwy 70S through Soddy instead of taking 24. Some of those roads over there are undoubtedly much more slick. It's snowing pretty heavily again here at my house. Just melts pretty fast as soon as it hits the road.

  6. Bud's Gun Shop has them right now. Transfer them in to someone like Austin's perhaps?

I appreciate the sentiment but in my case it was worth every penny to get rid of her.
  8. I will have a solid count of how many extra decals I have after I've given ample time for folks to receive theirs from this first order. I was able to obtain a few extras when I ordered by throwing a little more money at them. Once I know that everyone is good to go, I'll let you all know what remains.

I'm pretty sure I asked my attorney about this and she advised that it wouldn't stand up in court, so if there was a chance it might be contested, you should just leave it at the marital residence until the official division of property. Same disclaimer applies to this advice, however. Not a lawyer, not legal advice, etc.

Well, yes and no. Legally you can roast her if she removes property that shouldn't be removed until after the official division of property takes place (once the divorce is final). However, she can still very much walk out with your crap if you aren't there to stop her, and then it becomes a civil matter that has to be worked out in court. I've been down this road before, so I'll add that most of the time folks do allow each other to take things that they agree upon before the divorce settlement. In other words, you don't want the coffee maker so you let her take that. She doesn't have room for the king size bed, so you keep that. You in turn let her take the futon because she's going to need a place to sleep at her new apartment/house/box under a bridge. You two don't contest these things, therefore the court really doesn't care, and you each get some of the necessities for setting up house at your respective places of residence. Is that legal advice? Not at all. It's just the practical way things work out more often than not. Where trouble arises is when she wants to take the 52-inch plasma TV you just bought with your Christmas bonus and you tell her to piss up a rope. That's contested joint property and it has to be worked out in the divorce papers before it leaves the marital residence.
  11. Hell, I'm always wrong to a lot of people on TGO. Doesn't mean I don't share my opinion though.
  12. Oorah, Marine. Welcome to TGO. You should definitely come out and join us at some of the shoots.

In a divorce, it's typically the case that no one is allowed to remove any joint property (i.e. furnishings) from the house until after the division or property has been decided on paper.
  14. I love my inlaws. I'm blessed to have them. Great bunch of people.
  15. I'm iffy on this at the moment. It's not so much the weather as it is the fact that my back is, from time to time, still killing me. I'm going to just have to play it by ear. If you see me there tomorrow, I was there. If not... I wasn't. Sorry.
  16. This is pretty much on par with what I had heard as well, and it delivered. I'm very accurate with my M&P40 as well, but the 45 is possibly the most accurate M&P that I have ever owned. It makes me look good.
  17. I spent the day with my wonderful wife and her family.
  18. You know, I wasn't even going for that angle and it's probably an issue that can probably be dropped sooner or later. My comment was simply a reflection on the fact that I've seen the whole "drop your gun immediately" thing attributed to Tactical Response instructors and/or students before. I can't remember exactly which it was, but I do remember taking mental note when I read it the first time ... wherever it was.
  19. I'd like to remind EVERYONE that bigotry of any sort, toward any person, for any reason... will not be tolerated and is very much against the TGO code of conduct. This means bigotry for reasons of race, creed, gender or sexual preference. You are each welcome to harbor your own beliefs, but you will not use this forum as a platform from which to express bigotry. You can take that crap somewhere else. Thread closed and warnings will be issued.
  20. Ooo... plastic. Because aluminum is sooooo heavy.
  21. This. Same here.
  22. The Pro is only available as a 9mm. Or was. Not sure what you're getting at, honestly. I guess it's an attempt to be funny. Most handguns are more accurate than the people shooting them, though. I never had an accuracy problem with my Pro. I had countless failures to eject and failures to feed. S&W had teething problems with them early on because they were running a heavier slide with the same weight recoil spring.
  23. As Mike said, not typically. However... I have had no problems using my MTAC or my Raven Concealment Phantom with it. The Phantom is a little snug, but the Kydex is thin enough that it has sufficient give to work just fine for now. Had one of those. Wasn't impressed. I've been doing the M&P since they first came out -- literally -- and was excited about the Pro until I actually owned one. That cured my excitement.
  24. Not yet. Down the road... maybe. I'm thinking about the backstrap initially since they are cheap and easily replaced if I decide I don't like it. What you need to do is figure out how C4 Grant is doing the golf-ball texture and do some of THAT. It goes bang when I pull the trigger and puts them where I aim it. Pretty uneventful. I did shoot a paper badguy in the arm with it and it blew the arm clean off, spun him around and threw him to the ground about 20 feet away, though. That's the power of the .45ACP at work.
  25. Hurts like a motherf###er. Highly recommend avoiding it.
