  1. Buford, is that you?
  2. Wrong word as well. Sluts do it for free. We Magpul whores are engaged in transactions that involve money.
  3. Snobbery is the wrong word, I think. Perhaps a more accurate term would be to consider oneself to be a discriminating gun-buyer. There's nothing wrong with choosing a Lexus over a Toyota if you can afford the Lexus.
  4. Heh. No MTSU fans in this house. No Vols fans either. Roll Tide!
  5. I'm all for an organized protest. It's one of our rights, after all. However... I just about never open carry now so I wouldn't be inclined to open carry for this either. It's just not something I choose to do personally. Sorry.

    S&W M&P 9Pro

I couldn't help but notice the IDPA targets. Don't you know that the M&P isn't capable of shooting IDPA matches without falling apart? Just kidding. Great weapon. Despite what others think. I have a safe full of them.
  7. Minor step up from the Metro Arms.
  8. The SSGT that ran the poolee program back in my hometown was really fond of using the long-jump pit at the local high-school to illustrate the misery of pushing them out in the sand. Sadly life threw me a curve and I was never able to travel down that road, but the Marines will always hold a gritty, sandy, miserable corner of my heart.
  9. Heat the front sight base / gas block area with a propane torch for a few seconds and then gently smack it forward toward the muzzle using a block of wood and a hammer. Baby steps; no big home-run swings with the hammer. Just firm taps. Use the heat sparingly. It's not going to hurt the barrel or the gas block, but if you leave the torch just sitting on it too long you're going to risk of discoloring the black oxide finish. You are using some sort of armorer's block to secure the upper receiver group into a vice, right?
  10. They're going to have SOOOOO much fun with him.
  11. Your backup is only a backup until your primary goes pear shaped.
  12. So you're saying that you scoff at the idea that better ergonomics, ambidextrous controls, lighter weight and improved resistance to corrosion thanks to modern materials, improved ease of maintenance, drop-in replacement parts without the need to file and fit, and increased durability and reliability don't make modern platforms better than the 1911 for a combat handgun? Really? I mean... you're honestly able to turn a blind eye to so many blatantly obvious improvements and still declare that the 1911 is their equal? Seriously?? Because if you can do that, we have nothing else to discuss. Clearly you want to believe what you want to believe, and nothing that I say or data that I provide or logic that I lay out on the table is going to dissuade you.

    Egypt

Agreed. This is early revolutionary Iran / overthraw of the Shah all over again.
  14. I NEVER said that I'm the change anyone needs. I like things the way they are.
  15. Of course, your comment was kind of negative too. Just saying. Become the change you wish to see.
  16. It's both!
  17. What I've been saying since my first comment in this thread, but people get so god damned vitriolic about it when you bring up their favorite sidearm. It's almost worse than talking politics or religion. Probably because the 1911 is a religion. Agreed. Man... you could have just stopped there. Back when I was looking to become a Marine, poolees weren't allowed to think they knew anything about anything. If you made the mistake of thinking you knew something, there was usually a mountain of an SSGT ready to help you see the error of your ways, usually via pushing them out until your lunch was on the grass in front of you. Back to your regularly scheduled religious debate. I'm pretty much done with any sort of useful contributions to the thread. I've said what I had to say.
  18. Remember, some people are alive simply because it's illegal to kill them.
  19. I agree with this statement.
  20. You know, I stopped reading your post after I made it one sentence into it and saw that you were being a whiney-ass about my position as owner of this forum. I refuse to discuss anything with anyone who can't handle the fact that I have an opinion and that it has nothing to do with my position on staff.
  21. Respectfully, personal experience shouldn't be the metric by which a service pistol is chosen for an entire branch of the armed forces. I'd rather they use unbiased data resulting from brutal testing. If the M&P fails that, so be it. I've personally witnessed all sorts of fluke **** in my life, but that doesn't mean that those instances were typical.
  22. Broke, how? I've seen some high end 1911's choke and die on the range too. Does that mean they are crap?
  23. That's idiotic. You really need to try floating that on M4C and see what sort of responses you get. Because it supports your opinion? C'mon... do you really think that the model 1911 is really state of the art for a fighting pistol? Look, I'm a 1911 fanboy but I also don't think they are the best gear that we can be supplying our troops. And our troops deserve the best gear they can get! But honestly, sometimes I think if I posted that the sky was blue outside, some folks on this forum would argue with me just because it was me who said it.
  24. The good thing about lights is they come down a lot easier than they go up.
